I was thinking Jersey Shore as well which was partially why I was vague on the type of fiction. Now I'm thinking Jersey Girl? Kinky Boots? Merrily Ever After? Fiddler on a Hot Tin Roof?
As you are getting towards the end of the Wordle list, how about this for a future challenge list. Each day, the word starts with the last letter of the previous day until all the letters in the alphabet are used (as far as I know, all of the strange words below are accepted by Wordle). Aflaj - Joust - Thumb - Bayou - Umiaq - Quirk - Knoll - Lingo - Ollav - Venom - Month - Helix - Xylic - Crimp - Place - Elbow - Waltz - Zesty - Yearn - Nomad - Defer - Rabbi - Icing - Grief - Floss - Salsa I was originally going to try to have first word starting with A and ending with B, next starting B ending in C, etc, but there were too many gaps with words that don't follow this pattern.
I also had wordle in 4, upper, cleat, echos, decoy. Strands was super easy. When I was a kid, if we left the outside doors open, my mom would ask us if we were born in a barn! Sonshiwing a lack of manners. I also failed in naming the blue.
Before other-Miles gets here... the probability of getting four selected words in a row top, bottom, left or right is calculated as follows. The total possible arrangements of 16 words in 16 positions is 16 factorial, 16! With four given words in a specified order, the number of ways they can be placed in the left-hand column is exactly 1. But the four given words can be in any order, of which there are 4! And the remaining 12 words can be placed arbitrarily in the 12 remaining places, giving 12! possibilities. So there are 4! x 12! out of 16! possibilities to get the four words in the left-hand column. Left, right, top and bottom are mutually exclusive so the probabilities add to... 4 x 4! 12! / 16! = 1/455. 455 expected shuffles, that seems rather a lot.
Miles and Miles: I hit “shuffle” before I started. I chose the blue (“Broadway”) and then yellow (I called it “grumpy”) categories. Then the words for green (“experimental”) were perfectly lined up, as were the words in the next row for the last category, purple (“Peter blank”). This is the first time this ever has happened for me!
I did exactly the same as you today, Art. I said "Fiddler on the Roof" at one point but had no clue of the overall category. Not Broadway literate enough I guess.
Vetch is a climbing legume with a blue flowers that form little pods of seeds. It's grown in cereal mixtures ( oats say) along with peas and the whole lot is harvested as forage or arable silage for livestock.

If an event has a probability p of happening, then it's a geometric distribution, and the expected number of attempts until it happens is 1/p. So I'm afraid if something has a probability of 1/227, then on average it will take 227 attempts before it happens. In this video you specified that the four selected words end up on the top or bottom row or left or right column, which is half as likely, ie 1/455, so expected 455 clicks! But I noticed today you were quite happy with the four words being on the side but going round the corner, so if you add in those configurations, that improves it to about 1/152.
Were you raised in a barn is classically asked by a parent to a child whose left a door open so there's a draft. Which is weird because obvs the parent should know where their child was raised ! I also can't recall what upper has to do with plants 😂 but vetch is definitely a plant. And witch is for witch hazel.
