Re: the dress code, Ross made his bones as the best salesman IBM ever had and in those days IBM was either grey suits or navy blue suits with white shirts and ties with polished shoes., so little wonder he carried that over to his next ventures. It was pretty much the same when I started my first Engineering job at Martin Marietta in the early 80's; my first V.P. had a policy that the engineers could hang their jackets up when they arrived at work but if they left the department for any reason you had to put it back on (a Ph.D. Aerospace Engineer who works for a large American defense contractor's Missile Systems company).

I always remember hearing that Home Depot gave its employees stock options and it caused some communities to have the highest concentration of millionaires. That was when a million made you well off.

I think If Ross Perot would have played his cards a little bit better and didn’t act weird toward the end of that presidential campaign, he could have won that election. Everyone was talking about Perot. Even My dad made up his mind to go and work on his campaign, then he started to show very bizarre behavior. He was right about the negative aspects of NAFTA and I think Trump learned a lot from Perot as to what not to do in campaigns. He was a very interesting guy.

Well Home Depot meant the death of small business hardware stores...so it's not surprising that Ross Perot wasn't interested in investing. Perot was against NAFTA, he wasn't for selling out U.S. jobs and community, which big box stores like Home Depot and Wal-Mart helped to do. Glad this guy and his family are doing well though. He seems well intentioned and worked hard, just not a big picture thinker.

Ross Perot was a great choice as a candidate in the 90's. I had a lot of respect for him. Everyone passes down opportunities. And a big hats off to a man like Arthur Blank.

2m for 50% at that time wouldn't mean he would be holding 50% through out especially with more funds and investors coming in and the company going public.

Whenever I think of Arthur Blank, I can't help but remember the look on his and his wife's faces as they stood on the sidelines, in the forth quarter, and watched Tom Terrific tear their hearts out.

Wealthy investors know its never good to be in too early or in too late. Ross didn't starve, opportunites are everywhere if you know where to look.

I found you on RU-vid a few months ago, and I'm a big fan; but I just recently found out I could watch the full interviews by finding the local station and time on your website. I was wondering when you upload all the clips, does it include the full interview broken up into segments; or are there parts that you don't upload to RU-vid? I think Perot pointed out what he did to make them walk away graciously.... And they did. It wasn't for him. Whether he regretted not making the investment is irrelevant IMO. Microsoft should have gotten into Cellphone hardware earlier but they didn't. And they are still a monster. It sounds like this was just a day of business to me.

Truth be told, Perot is an overrated businessman. Yes, he has tremendous wealth, but it's precisely the kind of bizarre behaviour that won him his fortune that has him missing a major opportunity like this one. It's hardly surprising.

Ross Perot ran for President with all of his good ideas and talked so bad about the government when he had made millions off of them so you can bet he wouldn't change a thing.Ross also backed out at the last minute and threw the election.
