Fery never got phased. Stayed cool down 2-5. Looked in control. That's gotta be scary when you're the guy on the other side of the court. You're on the run of your life and your opponent's waltzing around like he's up 5-0.

Down 2-5 his opponent got relaxed and wanted to serve it out instead of breaking his opponent to close out the set! Really good tennis 🎾! 😊❤

I got to see Ferry Play in person yesterday against Utah. The sound of the ball off his racket is different than the other D1 players, especially considering the fact that he's not even a big guy. He rolled Utah's number one guy off the court. Ironically that was the only match Stanford won, Utah took the dual 4-1.

Arthur is so gifted and smart player. he rushes to the net just like Alcaraz... I'd say he plays similar to him but more volleys and no dop shots... I hope he can make to the ATP next year, i think he has everything to playa against the best players n the world

I normally don't watch college games. However, I find Arthur Fery very enjoyable to watch. He is an excellent player. He has the whole package.

Impressive how he righted his ship by capturing the net relentlessly, and when his volleys and pick-ups weren't working he stayed the course. Good discipline.

Arthur looks so anxious to get to net and forced it multiple times. He was the better baseliner anyway, just wait for a good spot. Put together a combo of shots - work the point and a short ball will present itself.

The short guy with red shirt& black short is an awesome player. with TONS of talent ( sorry I don't know his name and I am not good in American universities logo).This guy can easily break into Top # 20 ATP tour . Why ??? he dose have some serious weapon .His return of serve is unbelievable ,I mean this guy return of serve is a WORLD -CLASS return ( that his BIG weapon ) . He has a very nice kick second serve and also he has a nice first slice serve ( 3/4 power) nice wide- angle first serve from duce court to the opponent right handed forehand ( kind of like Arthur Ashe wide serve ) , pulling his opponent wide > his second weapon is his two handed back hand . He has a world- class two handed back hand down the line . Very short back swing ( like Marcelo Rios( short 5.6 ) or Afghany kefelnikof or Marat Safin ) ........he has also nice backhand slice reliable back hand defensive shot .....He has a good effortless reliable forehand , BUT it is NOT a weapon , for sure very consistent ( I like his back- hand far more than his forehand ) ....if I were his coach THE first thing I would work with him was : his transition game from base line to the net . He has a VERY poor judgment when he needs to go to the net and when should not . Also , his forehand volley is a VERY WEAK shot . He has NO punch action on that forehand volley . basically , he dose not have that killer instinct at net . He is not comfortable to be at net . Overall , he has great agility, very fast , awesome return of serve . awesome two handed backhand .....he HAS all the elements of being a TOP 20 ATP player NOW as we are speaking .All he needs he need a good coach to get him to that level . I mean with a good coach he can jump to 20 VERY EASILY . he has tons of talent ...... Coach T from Iran

I disagree. Arthur Frey has the best volleys on the team. He is very comfortable at the net. I’m not sure why you would say otherwise…
@ampiciline
@ampiciline Год назад
@@mkou88 I totally respect your views ..........If you would look at the best forehand volleyer like pat Rafter ( Australia ) , or especially Boris Becker ( Germany ) or Jonny mac ( USA ) their forehand Volley dose NOT have ANY underspin action , it is a "punchy action " very flat stroke .... ( Mr. Frey ) may have THE best volley in your team, but in order to be a TOP 20 ATP he MUST fix that forehand volley ....I watched him very carefully through out this match...... He could not put away several easy forehand- volleys and giving his opponent a second chance for pass ( being a top 20 ATP player you MUST put away those easy volleys) ..... How to fix it ? well, we know most players ( including Mr Frey) are using conventional continental grip for forehand volley ( including Jony mac and stefan Edberg ) ) , but Boris Becker was using eastern -forehand grip for his forehand volley , especially on grass to make it a very aggressive on grass . well , at this point it is VERY hard for Mr Frey to change his continental forehand volley to eastern grip , so I think bringing or inviting jony Mac to your school , giving him some small tips may solve his problem . any way that was my 2 cents . for example : look at 9:40 AND 16:53 ( beautiful serve , then look at the forehand volley underspin , giving his opponent a second chance . that volley should have been put away . Also the second example regarding poor judgment in transitioning from baseline to net look at 11:50 ...I am sure you are teaching your players , when ever they get a short ball hit the big forehand or backhand and rush to net ( cookie cuter approach ) ... well , you tell me why he is hitting a forehand to his opponent's forehand while he is already camping there ??? poor judgment. have a good day !

@@ampiciline what level did you play at? you seem to talk as if you were a former professional. at 9:40 none of the players you mentioned are gonna hit a flat volley from that height. the ball was under the net. the greatest volleyer of all times in singles is federer and he uses a slice forehand volley.
@ampiciline
@ampiciline Месяц назад
@@Yungdil hello , and thank you for your comment No , I am a simple retired pharmacist , and coach youths and my relatives for free as hobby ....second part of your comment : pat and Jony and Edberg ( especially pat ) or PETE samp are so explosive toward net ( after hitting their serve) that they do not let ball to drop that low .... if he wants to do surprised serve and volley ( jimmy conners use to do that ) he MUST be explosive ,and hit his volley WAY earlier than that .
@Yungdil

@@ampiciline stop comparing players from different eras to the current players in college. Players these days hit way too fast compared to the players in the different era. There’s a reason players don’t serve and volley anymore.

5.27 - if you call this out then you know you have to cheat to win the game. unless you are a ATP ref, call this IN. look at the ball closely. That ball might be out, but it's too close to call
