Hosea died protecting the people he loved, Lenny died fighting for a cause he didn’t know much about, Sean died happy, Karen died without being excepted, molly died a traitor, Mika died a fool ,and John died a Hero but Arthur died a legend.
@@tacituskilgore820 she didn't actually rat she just said she did to piss off Dutch, when Arthur confronts Milton and saves Abigail, Agent Milton says Molly said nothing and that Micah was the rat.
Chapter 6 is so depressing, the entire time, everytime you get back to camp, someone new left camp, and it ends with you and John in a standoff against the rest of the gang, realizing the dead ones and the ones who left, would all side with Arthur no questions asked. You spend the entire time thinking ''Damn do i miss goofing around in chapter 2, getting back to camp and everyone being happy like ''Hey Arthur! :D''
man i was chopping wood looking over at the river where me and young Jack would go fishing. I miss those days. I don't think I'll be replaying the story any time soon either. Really got to me it did
javier might have joined John and Arthur because in the standoff he points his gun in the air in the sky instead of pointing it at you but yeah it’s sad also the rat if he never joined the gang non of rdr1 and 2 would have happened
I've played the game through twice now. Lost my 1st playthrough save file by accident, and replayed it all again. Now I'm at my 3rd playthrough in chapter 2, just relaxing. I'll stay there until I get bored, then I'll maybe move onto chapter 3 but not much more, I think. I already have 2 save files (same progress, just a backup one) for John, which I play on actively and have fun as John, but when I'm tired of John, I can just go back to good ol' Arthur, with the gang being happy
i was so sad seeing everyone at camp lose hope and just leave. It really had me missing everyone. then to see bill, javier, and dutch turn on arthur, his lifelong friend that he knew for 20 years...
Experiencing the sorrow and happiness in this game…makes me wanna erase my memory with it and play it alllll over again. Cried so much on Arthur’s death, laughed so much with his jokes and other funny scenes, got scared and made the loudest screams when wild animals chased me, felt betrayed cause of Micah and specially Dutch, so many feelings in one game…it’s incredible
I'm a level 327 on Online and I'd always have a great time shooting around. I recently finished the story and now on the Epilogue and almost every time I get on I make sure to rest next to Arthur's grave site for a while to honor the Hero I never knew I had.
First time I played, I cried like I had never cried before. Second time, cried even more and it started way before the actual death. I really wish there were more games like this one
What makes the standoff scene even sadder is the fact that all of the characters who died (Lenny, Sean, Hosea, and Kieran) would have sided with Arthur. Plus Arthur's side would have slightly outnumbered Dutch's with one side having Arthur, John, Hosea, Lenny, Sean, Kieran, and Mrs.Grimshaw, and the other side having Dutch, Micah, Bill, Javier, Cleet, and Joe. But it's just Arthur and John having to fend for themselves against the Van Der Linde gang that betrayed them 😔
Sean might not have sided with Arthur, not that he was a bad person or anything just it’s hard to tell who he would have sided with cause he died off so early compared to the others. Also if Hosea was alive there’s no way it could have got to this point (I hope anyway.) Uncle, Swanson, Trelawny, Pearson and the women, while not fighters main fighters, all would likely have sided with Arthur too.
@@arthurmorgan5735 Keep it in your off hand holster my boy. It’s got enough range to keep you covered if you don’t have a repeater. Keep a cattleman or a double action revolver as your primary though. I think you’ve worked hard enough recently, why don’t you take a few days for yourself? Some rest and relaxation my boy.
I think one thing that broke me most about red dead is that loveable characters like Arthur or John are nothing more than criminals from an outsiders prospective.
I think the thing about Arthur and John is that they know they are criminals. Doesn't take an outsider to see the Blackwater massacre and see them as monsters. Others like Bill and Javier and especially Dutch try to justify their evil actions, but not John and Arthur. They both always refer to themselves as bad or crazy men, and make evey indication that they don't want to be anymore. That's why they're lovable and that's why ultimately they're the only ones to get any redemption. Bill gets put down like a dog in Mexico, Javier is probably hanged, and Dutch the egomaniac has the most painfully ironic death of all, after running for so long, justifying himself as right even in the face of his own actions, he gives up and takes his own life. Arthur and John are the only ones who were able to leave the world in peace, knowing that their death was to save others and that while the debt of their sins can never be repaid they did their best to recompense and reconcile.
"i am lost" that phraise in the song represent the last chapter in this game, arthur was trying to find himself and succeeded, he was the last hope for the gang and his companions, he tried as best as he could but it was too late, he is and probably always will be my favorite protagonist in video games
I want at least 10 more hours of gameplay where John and Arthur got closer. To me it seemed as though they went from low-key hating each other to being brothers. Always felt weird. But not even that aspect made this absolute masterpiece even a tiny bit less amazing.
arthur wanted to make a life for john as he had a family and they werent really close like brothers but arthur was trying to help and because of the sacrifice arthur made john treated arthur like a brother
I agreed with this on my first run, though I'm doing all of the extra tiny things in camp that involved John on my second run. The progression is there. Not as much as some would want, myself included but it is there
You do know there's more to this gang than when they start off in the mountains, right? The story starts with John lost and Arthur complaining that he's the one that has to go save his ass. All of the dialogue up until Dutch starting to completely lose it is, all the implication for what went wrong in Blackwater, this is just more and more backstory that connects the entire gang together, not just Arthur and John. Arthur is loyal. Loyal to Dutch, loyal to the gang, even loyal to those in the gang that annoy him. He saves John, he saves Sean, he even saves Micah. That's what he does. It's loyalty. When he starts questioning that loyalty, that is when he sees where his true loyalty should lie.
Arthur couldn't stand John because he left the gang before rdr 2. And he resented him for it. But they were always brothers. And when Arthur got sick, and saw John finally grow up and act like a decent husband and father to his family, he realized that all the loyalty to the gang meant nothing compared to the loyalty John had to his family. So he let all the anger and resentment go, and helped his brother make it out alive.
when i first started playing this game i just thought it was shooty shooty cowboy game...i cried for hours at the sight of my favorite game character to date taking his finnal breath while his lifelong friend betrays him and leaves him to die." I wish things were different, but it weren't us who changed."-fockin legend
the writing, the world, the entire game was a masterpiece. when companies want to make rich open world games.. turn to rockstar to see how it's done. good vid, man
My brother always plays renegade, but it came to that last ride he started over again and played through the entire game before seeing the ending purely because Arthur deserved better than how he'd played him. A real testament to the writing, acting and animation behind this game.
Can we appreciate how much everyone cared about him and then just kind of left him the people that still cared about him in the end though they're the true gods and the way sadie look at him like was going to lose another "husband"
This game really changed the way people saw what video games and their narratives could be. Arthur Morgan is an incredible character so many people appreciate and identify with. A beautifully tragic story of redemption, mortality, regret, and humanity. I never cried playing a game and chapter 6 of rdr2 made me pause to collect myself. My first play through I did the high honor ending. That will make even the most stoic tear up. Rdr2 is an incredible achievement in storytelling and what that can be.
Dont forget kratos hes an absolute badass and one of the most well developed characters in video game history i highly recommend trying it out if ya got playstation
The only piece of media to ever bring me to tears, truly a masterpiece. Better than all GTA's, all other games ive ever played. It changed me as a person and gave me a new outlook on life. Arthur Morgan will go down in history no doubt
@@synical_zero0003 i agree but if youre looking for another character that comes close too arthur play god of war kratos has a really well developed story + makes you feel like a badass
Arthur realised that when he got TB that he can change his ways, and be a good man at the end of his life, instead of hurting people friends and family he can help others rather than himself. *One last time*
Rip Arthur 😢 you were an inspriation to me, you showed us that a man shouldn’t stick to his mistakes from the past and that it is never too late to change to a better person that helps the others, that's what being a real Human is about ❤
@@sisda_8176 ok but who asked. This person I’m replying to said the same thing to me twice when I wasn’t even talking to him so you know what. You get what you give.
Rdr 3 plot idea: before the Van Der Lin gang was completely formed, Arthur, Dutch, and Hosea were the only ones. Imagine the game, allowing you to switch characters (just like gta 5) between hosea, arthur, and dutch, each having their own missions. This would basically tune into the backstory of the feud between Dutch and Colm
Arthur Morgan was the best gunslinger in the gang hands down and by a long shot. Which means he might of been the best gun in all the states at the time. The fact that Arthur and a wounded John were looking down 6 men with great gun skills meant no one wanted to pull because Arthur would see the motion and get 2-3. If only 2 then John maybe 1. 50 percent death. I'd rather walk away with some money.
Arthur Morgan and Joel Miller is the best character's in gaming history they deserved better in the end trying to change who they are in the past and they done the big sacrifice in the end to save the people they loved. We never forget these character's🧔🤠❤
It was such a sad ending I just really wanted him to run away with John or atleast hold off the pinker tubs then escape too. Arthur was my favourite character I love him and always will
Heard a lot of people talking about this game for a while when it first came out, didn’t really pay it any attention, I just bought it last year (reluctantly) expecting to be disappointed. But this is by far the best storyline of any movie or game I’ve ever seen
I saw the expression of regret on Dutch's face. He's like... really different. Yes Arthur and Dutch arent going well. But he is still sees Arthur as his son.
