Honestly though Arthur's Uncle was given a rough reputation on screen, he was actually a really good guy. He saw Arthur crying over the broken bird present, and gave up the one he bought under Arthur's name just to help Arthur feel better and cause "it'll be a whole lot nicer" coming from Arthur. Absolute Chad move right there.

All I'm saying is that Muffy's dad has the build of someone who regularly breaks the backs of people who meddle in his business and makes it look like an accident. You don't get stocky limbs like that selling cars all day.

I honestly loved Buster's storyline in this special. As a kid, you just see his mom being silly and forgetful, always getting the day wrong. But then you look back on it, and it's really kind of heartbreaking. You've got a single mom who just wants to make sure her son has a good Christmas, and is freaking out about it. This show, man. It tugs the heartstrings fierce.

Arthur's subplot in this special is basically a child-friendly remake of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It focuses on a protagonist who wants nothing more than a perfect Christmas with his family, but after everything is nearly ruined as a result of the unexpected arrival of his offbeat distant relative and his rowdy dog, he realizes that at the end of the day, he still had a great Christmas.

When I was real young we got a good like 2 week break for Christmas, but by high school it was literally whatever days were before Christmas in the week we got off up to about New Years. So if the 25th was on a Monday we were in school til that previous Friday the 22nd.

About them being in school on the 22nd, here's a fan theory: Marc Brown (the author of the Arthur books) is from Erie, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the same high school as my mother. The Erie school districts, including the elementary schools start their breaks on Christmas Eve as long as I can remember. So that, I think, is why they're still in school.

The reason I love this movie so much is that most of the characters keep their holiday simple. There are no huge magical events, no Christmas miracles just the importance of keeping Christmas about God and family ( Arthur's family is seen heading to church and Arthur's dad cooks a traditional meal like Jesus would have had.The only characters who make the mistake of going "Christmas crazy are Muffy and Buster's mom. Buster teaches his mom that all he wants to do is spend time with her and they can do their own thing and just relax " Baxter Day" Buster is so sweet, he isn't concerned about getting toys at all. Muffy also tries to make a huge glamorous conercalized Christmas. She tries to make herself look good by giving out expensive gifts. Yet even when she gets a gigantic pile of gifts herself she can't enjoy them because she is broken hearted about losing her best friend, Francine. This movie is different from so many other Christmas specials because it shows us that simplicity is best. The characters are the most happy when they are with their families and their friends and not going on crazy adventures with magical happenings. Santa Clause is beauty even mentioned. This movie is a good reminder that keeping your December holiday simple will still create lasting memories for their children. The holidays are not about the hustle and bustle, not about giving out expensive gifts or making yourself into the Christmas Queen. The holidays are about Jeasus and family. Arthur's Perfect Christmas hits that nail right on the head! Happy holidays everyone!

For me, school ended two days ago... on the 21st...

This is the most underrated animated Christmas special, because it’s not about everyone have the same kind of Christmas. People celebrate different holidays like Hanukkah, Kwanza, even the title of the show should be called Arthur’s Imperfect Christmas!

Thank you for all the great videos this year Peebs, this one has to be one of my favorites. I watch this Christmas special ever year also because my parents still only have PBS but I just noticed, that Muffy may have a brother because one of the stockings on her mantle place says Chip and it’s so much smaller then hers (guess someone isn’t the favorites child)
