@@c-man162 So chill he couldn't handle being in a gang anymore and wanted to start his own chill life. My dude had his priorities straight at this point in time.
I often forget how much respect (and fear) Arthur commands from the rest of the gang. You can tell how nervous Trelawny was to tell Arthur he was leaving.
Arthur was the gang’s enforcer without a doubt. Dutch was the charismatic leader, Hosea the wise consigliere, and Arthur the brute enforcer. Those 3 at their peak were top dogs as outlaws for a good reason.
He's the biggest, strongest, and their best gunslinger alongside John. Not to mention he does all the hardest and dirtiest work. The gang would be nothing without Arthur
@@uhJerryJackson Ehhh this my ruffle some feathers but Micah was definitely a better gunslinger than John, but not better than Arthur. John shoots when he has to, Micah shoots because he wants to.
Arthur does call himself the “workhorse” of the gang, which is completely true. And it’s not even just that he’s smart too, he’s shown that he’s more than capable of being a leader with has a knack for finding low risk high reward jobs. I mean Dutch choosing to go with Micah’s plan instead of Arthur and Hosea‘s plan is why everything went wrong in the first place.
It's wholesome that Arthur gave him the blessing to leave the Gang, he definitely wouldn't have gotten it from Dutch. Such an awesome moment and a great exit for Mr. Trelswny.
Blessing son, we have an opportunity here! Guarma was just the beginning, they will not stop us, we will have our paradise soon! Son! Soon - Probably Dutch
@@Earlierfour @Earlierfour @Earlierfour Home free indeed. That could be Dutch's life motto. If only they will give us this last score. Can someone please check if Dutch was into Scheherazade ?
THEY MADE TOO MUCH NOISE IN VALETINE THEN MORE NOISE IN THAT TWO family stuff DUTCH & HOSEA WAS NOT THE RIGHT LEADERS HOSEA DID WRONG IN ROBBING THAT MOON SHINE EVERYTHING CAUSED ATTENTION THATS HOW COLM GANG FOUND TJEM IN THAT LIL PLACE AND KILLED KIERAN THEY MADE TOO MUCH MISTAKES TOO MUCH NOISE SHOULD HAD JUST WENT TO BLACKwatwr for the money
That's because Hosea isn't used to playing aristocrats. Hosea is a Con man to the low class, trelawny is the gang's high class Con man. Not to mention trelawny is a lemoyne citizen he doesn't buy into southern stereotypes while dutch and Hosea did
@@user-ff5if6rs2nyeah he was one of my favorite members of the gang. Wish we were able to plan out more heists with him, he definitely knows how to scope out the good tips.
knowing how much of a conman he can be, he could've been trying to bullshit his way into leaving the gang at first but when Arthur gave him the blessing he really did mean that he'll miss him and that he was a good friend. "I'll be back" was the last lie he told Arthur before realizing that he doesn't need to lie to leave for good.
It’s the damn music…. I literally watched a short the other day that wasn’t sad at all in any since and the had sad music playing and it’s changes it RU-vid is trying to make us sad and depressed
That's why his character is so loveable He portrays himself deliberately as a rough simpleton but his manner of speaking and actions show (high honor) Arthur upholds Dutch's ideals more than the man himself ever did
“This is all pretty much over” words from a man who knows his time is coming to a close and that the gang he has spent his entire life with, building a family with over the years;is crumbling all around him because of the delusions of a man he has followed since he was a child.
The thing is, Arthur knew from the very beginning that it was just a matter of time and the gang was definitely doomed and wasn't gonna make it like all the other times. I mean it's one big mistake to think that he started changing only bcz he got TB.
@@jugurtanamous5430 Yup, even without tb, he would have changed, not that much he changed with tb , but U can guarantee than he would have ran with Mary Linton to lead a fine life
A lot of things do change gameplay-wise after the diagnosis, actually. Arthur will start losing weight massively after Guarma, and it becomes incredibly hard to gain any weight back even if you eat candies, chocolate bars and drink alcohol like a divorced middle-aged woman, he will also start coughing up a storm whenever you make him smoke or drink anything strong, even coffee, his breathing becomes waaaay too labored and coughy (compared to the beginning of the game) even if you were only running for what's essentially nothing. None of these really affect anything, and getting TB doesn't really debuffs him in any way, which might be why a lot of people miss these details. I don't wanna sound like the "well actually" kid, I just think they're pretty awesome little details that are extremely easy to miss.
@@dekusan2621that’s just a theory, A GAM-(sorry I had too), but still one I find quite unlikely considering we can already find the strange man in red dead redemption two in the swamp house. We also know John knew Trelawny yet didn’t know the strange man. (And don’t try to say “bUt mUH ArThuR” from the first game because all thats just cause they clearly couldn’t have written that far ahead, beside the epilogue already gave an explanation that John never liked talking about that time. So no, he didn’t just forget him.) on top of that, aside from Trelawny having a infinite supply of birds that would make Pearson weep up his literal sleeve, he doesn’t appear to have any omnipotent abilities like the strange man. So really, aside from how they dressed, Trelawny and the strange man don’t really have that much in common.
@@frxstlxtno3148 Well I didn't cry but felt empty for like a week or something after completing chapter 6. The same feeling you get when a family member passes away.
"you go with my blessing." He was afraid until Arthur said that. He didn't want the gang and Arthur to truly believe he was running away to ditch those guys or anything like that, and Arthur understood that Trelawny had a future ahead of him. (Edit) THERE I CHANGED IT LITERALLY ONE TO TWO FUCKING WORDS BUT NO LETS ALL CORRECT ME BECAUSE IT SOUNDS A LITTLE FUCKING DIFFERENT 👏👏👏👏👏 GOOD JOB GUYS YOUR GODDAMN GENIUSES

It was Arthur's job to finish it but he couldn't due to his sickness so John finished it in his honor but was killed and jack finished the job for his father
@@roofcake8951If Rockstar has 2 brain cells to rub together RDR 3 won't be set after 1 so Jack won't die in RDR 3. RDR 1 ends just before WW1, a Red dead game in WW1 wouldn't be Red dead, and if Jack becomes a criminal it would be a Mafia game. Red dead is about the Wild West, RDR 2 was about the end of the Wild west and gunslinger gangs and RDR 1 was about John (and the government) putting the last nail in the coffin In RDR 2 the best guns weren't typical "western" guns but pistols, the bolt action rifle, the Carcano rifle, the semi auto shotgun, all the guns that you wouldn't associate with the Wild west. The only "western" gun that's still the best in its category is the repeater but all the other older guns are becoming less and less popular at this time and being replaced by something better. Bolt action and Carcano are better than Springfield and Rolling block rifles, semi auto and pump action sbotguns are better than the double barrel shotgun, pistols would be better than revolvers if you could carry more ammo, otherwise pistols shred. Simultaneously, civilization is spreading and with it a new type of crime. You don't rob banks at gun point, you rob them in a way that normal people can't even sense. You don't rob people at gun point, you siphon their tax money. Gunslingers are old news and as Arthur himself said, they were among the last and would soon be dealt with
Arthur is such a deep thinking man. He deserved Better. He cut the goodbye short to kill second thoughts. He saw the end coming and would rather see his family live.
Believe it or not This scene got me almost in tears ,knowing what was happening and listen the "This is pretty much over" was just horrible for me ,I didn't want to be over ,I didn't wanted to keep playing the missions but i did
I understand Arthur. At this point he was preety much a dead man walking. His days were numbered. He understood that the rest of the gang members had a long life ahead, like Mary-Beth, Tilly or Trelawny here, and he did his utmost to help them. The gang wasn't safe anymore. Ever since Hosea died, Dutch's decisions became increasingly erratic. Micah saw his chance when Arthur doubted him more than ever. He replaced him as Dutch's right-hand man, poisoning his mind and turning him against the rest of the gang. That, along with his head injury back in the failed trolley station heist, turned him into a deranged psychopath. What could Arthur do at this point? All he knew was the outlaw lifestyle, like he said, "he was set free to fight". He wouldn't have been able to fit into society. All he could do at this point was trying to save the rest of the gang members that deserved saving before he passed: John, Abigail and Jack (and even this would prove futile, as John threw away all he got by killing Micah. That's what Ross needed to find him again, as we see in the end credits).
The “no you wont” was so well animated you can really see the conviction and emotion in Arthur’s eyes knowing that trelawney is just bending around the bush.
I love Trelawny, he's such a kind con man for a con artist, just chilling and mostly conning to hide his family from the gang, when Arthur found out Arthur understood with time and it was such a sad thing but it was bittersweet watching him leave to take care of his family
I really feel like when Arthur met sister he truly changed.. his mentality during the time he had left was more selfless and sacrificial, like a hero freeing his old flock from the shackles of death, even if it meant rushing his..
It made me sad the see Trelawny leave the gang. I really liked his charm, sense of humor, and compassion forth members of the gang. However in the end it was a right choice due to Dutch becoming more selfish and putting other members of the gang at risk. I wish that in RDR2 that they could have more information on Trelawny on what he does after the gang.
Is it weird that this scene made me sad even though like it’s not a very big event but I don’t know it just made me sad because I like trelawny and I loved Arthur and trelawnys friendship
@@user-ms6dm3dz9w dude trelawny had a real family to go back to, why would he stay with a falling apart collection of bandits... also real men XD what a joke

I love the fact that Arthur changed from a dumb hard-minded killing machine for his father to a hero that saved multiple bloodlines at the cost of his own
my biggest pet peeve is the game not allowing us to confront reverend after finding his heroin stash, let’s you find that shit in CH2, then don’t say a weird until and of CH6
It's similar to the note you find on the skeleton bayoneted to a tree by the dilapidated church near the old battlefield in Rhodes that says that there is no missing gold to find and steal, that it was given away
Literally just played this mission 20 minutes ago and had to sit back and have a break afterwards. This is probably one of the best missions I have played yet
Honestly, there was such a strangely cathartic relief to see each gang member leaving. It was sad to see them go, but also felt like watching a cult member finally break free of their conditioning and getting the hell away from their tormentors.
Trelawny was a great character, on the city you can fin his house and hear son voicelines. A good man with family who cares about his woman and childs. Arthur understood and gave him the best luck ❤
Trewlany looks him up and down knowing damn well this is the last time he’s ever going to see Arthur again. Every time Arthur coughs it breaks your heart.
It's great what Arthur did for Trelawny. Even though he was making the right decision, Trelawny might have felt guilty for "abandoning" the gang for the rest of his life, but having Arthur's blessing must've rly eased up his conscience.
I don't even remember this scene to be completly honest. This game can come up randomly and still bring tears to my eyes. It proves to me over and over why all this isn't "It's just a game". I cried more during this game then at any movie I've seen
It sucks when you say a final goodbye to someone. But it is important it's time to move on in life. This was actually a sad goodbye because of how sudden yet honest and genuine it was.
Chapter 6 broke my heart. Especially after seeing how things started. Everyone cared for each other and the camaraderie and then to see how things ended 😢
Trelawny. Another one of my favorite people within the gang. I understand him from the beginning, they needed someone like trelawny to be their eyes and ears ahead of the gang. This part was sad but he knew or atleast had an idea what was going on and needed to leave before things get real bad for him and probably won't see his family again. Swear this game is just pretty damn legendary.
"Thank you Arthur" That line hit me on my first playthrough, Trelawny was always the quiet one observing from the sidelines of the gang and for him to say that gave me a tear. He really thought highly of Arthur and even said he'd miss him, Arthur wanted his goodbye but I knew Arthur had the gang on his mind so I had no issue with Trelawny leaving the way he did. Go look after your family lad.❤
That shit was so sad when everyone started coming up to him and saying they want to leave and he's like it's alright I understand go live your life while he was slowly dying 😭
You know the great thing about Trelawny is he's a bit of a call back to one of the main themes of the game when it comes to John: "be one thing or the other". Trelawny has one foot in the underworld and one foot in civilian life, his gang members don't know his family exists and his family know nothing about his work, most of the gang stuck around until till the end but Trelawny had something to lose and unlike the others who ran off in the night he made sure he left honorably despite the risk of being called a traitor. He's like Strauss in a way, by their character and interactions they would seem like the first to give up information to save their own skin or cut and run without a word but in reality they were just as loyal as Arthur and John, they just didn't have that father son bond with Dutch that made them go against their instincts forcing them to stay longer than they should
Trelawny was deadass my favorite character (aside from Arthur of course.) in the game. I was so happy to do another mission with him, just for him to leave 😢
After Arthur and Charles, Trelawny's probably my 3rd favourite. He's sassy and full of wit. Loyal to the bone but in the end chooses his family. I respect him. I miss his quick retorts sometimes.
Maintaining good relationships with the whole gang makes the ending so much sadder since everyone starts to see he is about to die and just like trelawny they’ll all tell Arthur how good of a man he was. I found for my Arthur there’s a line between on and dishonor and maintaining the gang was always first priority in those choices.
Trelawny is actually likely the smartest member of the gang, All of his mission go off with out a hitch and aren’t dangerous and usually don’t need any fighting to rob them. He also was right about the Braithwaites and Grays. Along with having all the benefits of being a member while non of the cons he can live a life outside of the gang.
I like how, like a true con artist, Trelawny immediately went to lying and said that he was going to come back. Every character has a thing and Trelawny’s is talking and lying without actually saying anything. However, Arthur (having known Trelawny for years) recognised the hesitation and knew what was going on. Such a good scene
