I had so many of these moments of recognition in this game knowing someone went through the work of creating something while probably thinking in their head "No one will ever see this but here goes"..
I love this! Really adds some depth to Trelawny's character. While the gang thinks him but a slipaway, really he's just attending to his family. Truly living a double life.
He hs another family in the city too! Diferent named wife and a daughter. You can hear them tlk trough the walls of another house. He aint no family man xD
@@chriswilliams4700 I recently learned this in my third playthrough and also looked for it on RU-vid, but couldn't find it there. It's basically just him talking to another family, being all happy and stuff, just like in this voice line.
I don't think Trelawny is the Strange Man, I believe who ever wanted to communicate with John used Trelawny body as a vessel to do so, I mean after all the weird shit we learned about Trelawny on RDR2 and online (100 Trelawnys, the magic tricks, his knack for suddenly disappearing and reappearing) I can see why this is a thoery. and at the end of the day it's just a thoery, just like Trelawny NOT being the Strange Man is also just a theory. Nothing has been proven

@@bbrandumbb The doctor does say to Arthur that if he rests and takes it easy. He could survive. But obviously he's long missed his opportunity for a life with Mary Linton. And has dedicated his final moments to assuring the people he cares about lives. He couldn't rest. Not in his life.

Trelawny is really a good parent he went all the way to Blackwater to get a toy for his kids while keeping them absolutely hidden from his real life. Just like my dad only difference is he never came back
My dad abused me physically and mentally tried to strangle me I put a knife to his neck just to get him off me he stole over $3000 from me and he was earning more than me
i love that he refers to camp as “the office” bc it’s just a day job for him, not a lifestyle like the rest of the gang. i’m impressed that he’s even able to separate that part of him from everything else so easily and live an otherwise pretty normal life
Wut. It freaked me out. I thought that the game was messed up. I heard his voice as i was like why am i hearing this ( i thought that because i was affected by the infinite loading glitch and the game finally started to load after 5 days of failed attempts ). I restarted the application to be safe amd disnt try to hear him again.
If you think about it trelawny isn’t wanted in black water because he told his son he gave him a toy from there. Therefore Dutch could have told him where the money was and got it for him. Nobody knew this at all
I doubt dutch trusted him enough with all the money. but he did trust micah..idk. could barely count on Trelawny to be there when times are good much less when it's in the shitter. one good point though damn..
He didn't trust Micah with it. Micah asks early on if he can go get it and Dutch says 'he'll think about it' If you go talk to him afterwards Arthur will tell Dutch not to let Micah to which Dutch will pretty much be "Do you think I'm an idiot?" So no, he really wouldn't have trusted Trelawny, even if he seems chill, it's a big risk.

But needless to say there's not much evidence Trelawny is cool, they barely know the guy, he just drops in and helps and his motivations are entirely unknown. Most people even missed that he was considered part of the gang and thought he was more of an associate. Probably the only people he would have trusted were Hosea and Arthur, Hosea can't for the same reasons Dutch can't, and as capable as Arthur is, he probably wouldn't want to risk it.
I really liked Trelawny and begrudgingly admired his powers of charm. Still, that's no excuse for naming your kid Tarquin, that's just cruel. Tarquin Trelawny, really?

kevin an He doesn’t really hurt anyone. All of his methods of stealing are non-violent. All the missions with him and Arthur lean towards Trewlany letting the fighters get blood on their hands rather than him. Trewlany isn’t a fighter, he’s much more silver tongued than the rest of the gang, and he puts it to good use.
@@altus2447 ok sorry this is old but Trelawny also tries to convince Arthur to not hurt anyone…so he’s probably the most pacifist out of anyone in the gang.
Just and FYI, that’s not Trelawny’s house. He’s actually in the garden around the corner. You can’t see his children, but eventually him and his wife come out and you can follow him. He’s dressed in plain clothes and Arthur speaks to him like he would any other random NPC, but if you follow him long enough with subtitles turned on, he’ll speak to Arthur and the subtitles confirm it’s him.
Once again, every time I think I have seen everything in this game . Just had a conversation with Trelawny where he says he knows I saw him in town with his wife . I had no idea what he was talking about . Did a search and now found about this .
I remember hearing this and going, "wait did they say trelawney"? the problem was I was being chased by the police at the time, so every time I returned to this location I never heard it again. Glad to know the easter egg I found actually exist and I wasn't just hearing things.
Lol Trelawny just came up to Arthur one day in camp and was like "I know you saw me with my family." I was like "WTF When!?" （；゜０゜） Don't remember any of this happening in my game but I think I might have gotten into a fight near his house so I might have been a little preoccupied.
Spoilers: Now it adds some more complexion to him leaving the gang in chapter 6. On the surface it looks like a understandable move to get away before shit hits the fan with little regard to loyalty to others. But its now fully clear that it was exsctly loyalty that made him leave. He knew he had people depending on him.
He really is the only winner, didn't lose anything, made a bunch of cash and his relations to the gang were never even found so he was completely scott free, he is probably the smartest dude there, reminds me of Saul Goodman, not phyiscally imposing but could plan out a scenario like a badass.
I had another event happen where he asked for him and his wife to go to another floor or something like that. There were no kids there. Maybe I got it earlier in game?
I love all the grown ass men fighting about Trelawny being the strange man or not. Personally, i dont know and no one does. Im leanibg more towards Strange Man being someone else entirely. They do have some similarities. Both have strikingly similar appearances but their looks aren't uncommon, both show up off and on throughout the games, both have a somewhat creepy vibe about them,not much is known about eachothers' pasts, both have shown an interest in Heidi McCourt, a girl dutch shot during a botched robbery. I believe why trelawny was given such a similar physical appearance and demeanor to the strange man despite the voice diffrence and Trelawny looking more flamboyant is that part of Trelawny was designed to drive conspiracy theorists nuts but in reality if you were to check out a remote cabin in the bayou, you'll find a cabin belonging to the strange man. I think Josiah Trelawny was designed in some aspects to fuck with us and make us think he is our man. Ps if he really was the SM the voice change is way too different and he would either be faking his voice or its a change rockstar decided on but they both sound silly.

Josiah lives in Blackwater too? Trelawny, Charles, Tilly and Mary-Beth all move to Saint Denis after the gang falls apart, Trelawny before and after I guess. i wonder who else moved there lol.
