Yes. I’ve lost weight and was able to get off my blood pressure medicine because of his inspiration and informative videos about prolonged/intermittent fasting combined with eliminating processed food from my diet!
We made homemade nutella with monk fruit and it was better than the original Nutella! Buy hazelnuts, roast them, puree them with chocolate powde, salt and monk fruit and Bam amazing KETO nutella!! Yummm
Erythritol: I was relying on this heavily for my sweet tooth on keto, but I overdid it. I was putting loads of it in my iced teas and drinking them all day long. As a result, I got sick on it: stomach ache, diarrhea, severe headache and fatigue. I also was having trouble getting my fasting blood sugar under 122. I had to do an elimination diet to figure out the problem was erythritol. Since giving up erythritol and using only Stevia, I'm no longer sick like I was and my fasting blood sugar is at 101 now. Just thought I'd let people know, don't overdo it on erythritol, as Dr. Berg said here.
I was sort of snacking yesterday on some Stevia with organic inulin in it. It gave me gas and diarrhea. I ran out of that stuff and now I have Stevia cut with some Erythritol. Dr Berg says it doesn't lead to an insulin response but it also says two card per half a teaspoon which is very little. I'm almost afraid to use it. I also bought two small bottles of liquid Stevia which doesn't list carbs on it or maybe less than 1 carb per serving which really doesn't help. I mean, when do you get up to one carb and two, FIVE, etc. Who knows??
Soy de México y desde mi punto de vista el mejor endulzante es el que se obtiene al deshidratar el agua miel y nos da como resultado la Miel de Agave, está miel tiene muchos beneficios y más en las personas con diabetes.

The only problem with this channel is.... its tooooo informative! Everything Dr Berg talk, is short, sweet and on point! You feel obligated to watch every single video! Awesome channel!
I'm about to start my keto journey so I'm changing up my grocery shopping. On a whim I bought the Lakanto sweetener and...BWOI! I was genuinely shocked how authentic it tasted. I hate that artificial sweetness and aftertaste.
Animal lovers: please be careful if you use xylitol - it’s fatal for pets!! It’s already in some foods (and chewing gums)…… so check ingredients if you share with your pets. My dog almost didn’t make it after getting into my purse and eating some gum. No more xylitol in my home!
Xylitol i get from birch water sap I tap in early spring. My nordic ancestors does this, the term was phrased as "strengthing the marrow" after a long winter. Pine needle tea is also popular in the region. Minty but high in vitamin c
I just got my 90 year old dad to add monkfruit to his coffee instead of sugar. He realized on his own that he was the only one in the house consuming all of the sugar. I told him sugar was as bad as smoking. I can't believe he switched.... Hey, better late then never. :)
I’ve Used stevia for years and have never had problems. People will say that these sweeteners can give you sweet cravings but it doesn’t for me. Sugar gives me intense cravings so i prefer these sweeteners. A lot of companies mix them with dextrose or maltodextrin which can spike your blood sugar and give you those cravings
KillerKikyo5 Thank you! People demonize these like fat and meat, has been demonized, the funny thing is people say that the likes of stevia, erythritol, etc. are “Artificial Sweeteners” even though they are organic!
I've noticed those intense cravings too. They scare me because I've never cared for sweet things. When I have a normal craving I could eat something sweet and be satisfied. Now with this video and comment it helps me see I'm not cuckoo.
@@yashthakur9306 It doesn't matter too much other than organic. But take care to read ingredients since Corporations use deceptive labelling to appear as though their product is 100% stevia when it is only a tiny percentage by volume! You can grow your own in a pot or Zone 9+ protected ground soil. Harvest just before flowering, (to decrease bitter aftertaste) hang-dry & coffee-grinder grind. You can easily train yourself/others to not taste any stevia bitter in coffee/tea. Begin around 50/50 sweetness, not volume of Stevia + cane sugar/xylitol, make sure you start from no bitter! Then weekly or so increase the Stevia portion till over weeks to months 100% Stevia just tastes sweet! Different purity processing methods all have different sweetness factors, so you have to know or spend time testing the one you are using. The least sweet is the green leaf you can grow yourself! (Also in healthfood stores.)
@KillerKikyo5 hey! So what to look for before buying? Please also tell from your experience, is stevia completely safe for regular use? And can even a diabetic consume it without having to worry about any increase (whatsoever) in sugar and/ or insulin? (From India).
My body doesn't tolerate Erythritol at all--my reactions (I can't speak for anyone else) are much worse than what he mentioned. I've used Stevia for a few years but recently I ordered some golden Monkfruit and I'm so glad! To me it doesn't taste as sweet as sugar but so far it's perfectly digestible and nothing's better than that :-) Hope it stays that way.
@Maybeth Shirah hey! Please tell from your experience, is stevia completely safe for regular use? And can even a diabetic consume it without having to worry about any increase (whatsoever) in sugar and/ or insulin? (From India).
Thanks Dr Berg. I was having horrible migraine headaches. Then I realized it was the aspartame gum I was chewing. I stopped the gum and my headaches vanished.
A very important point about chewing gum with xylitol is that it can lessen your hospital stay by up to one and a half days. Pain killers, IVs,etc can slow gastric motility and they won't release you until you've had a bowel movement...just 5 min a couple of times a day will also increase saliva to save your teeth and keep your jaw chewing muscles from atrophying.
I actually had a lot of bloating with xilatol, and now switched to erythritol and have no issues at all.. and for me it tastes just like sugar in my baking
I get an exteme reaction from sorbitol (I mean extreme) - but strangely enough, no reaction from erythritol, despite them both being sugar alcohols. Go figure.
I just tried monkfruit in my Coffee and omg it’s so good!! I can’t tell the difference with sugar except the fact that the sugar is way to sweet and I’m a sugar addict so I’m happy with how good monkfruit is! So happy 😁
Dr Berg saved my life. It’s as simple as that. Thank you Dr Berg I owe you a debt of gratitude. I have lost weight, lowered my blood pressure, lowered and normalised my blood sugars after decades of being a borderline diabetic. All it took was to be informed and provided with the answers to my many questions and given the best solutions to remedy my ailments. I am now full keto with naturally occurring IF and never been happier or healthier.
Regarding blood pressure, after how many months of keto do you lower your blood pressure? Your answer is appreciated, bcz im 30 old and got hypertension and just started keto
@@Ahmed-sn2vb took me about four months, I’m 50yrs+ and I eat lots of tinned salmon and eggs lol. Never underestimate the value of a good salad it helps. I grow spinach and broccoli etc so I have fresh veges too. In the mornings when I woke up I’d have two drops of lemon juice in a tablespoon of EXtra virgin olive oil. I don’t normally eat before 2pm and then have dinner around 6-7pm. If you have any queries do a search of Dr Berg and high blood pressure. Better to go to the source and I find him enlightening. Good luck I wish you well.
I have something that says it's monk fruit with erythritol. It tastes exactly how he describes erythritol. It's a cooling sweet taste, but it's very light tasting and refreshing. I think I like the taste better than sugar but it sure was expensive.
I have found xylitol to be the culprit in causing digestive upset in my clients. I LOVE Lakanto brand because they combine non-GMO erythritol with cancer-fighting monkfruit to make all sorts of sweetening products!
Thank you so much Dr. Berg i learned a lot from you from 80 kilos i am now 50 kilos i keep on watching all you videos. Pls continue to apload more inspirational videos you really help alot of people in the whole world. Most of my friends have following you already your not only a doctor for us but you are also a good fitness teacher. GOD BLESS YOU MORE.
Huge thanks and a request. Thank you very much always Dr Berg for the super helpful lectures. One request, sometimes you point to the screen and say “This one”. If you would point to the screen and say, “This one, Stevia”, or say “This one, Monk fruit” then it would be helpful for both visual and auditory orientation. Sometimes we record your lectures, walk and listen, or do housekeeping and listen, or have other reasons that we cannot see the board so it’s helpful in such cases to make sure that both the visual and audio aspect communicated the same info. Which “one” does he mean we wondered as we listened. We couldn’t see the board. By the way, thank you for standing in a way that makes it easy for people to see the board when they do have visuals. Thank you again so much. Hoping these comments can be of some help to your already fabulous lectures. Thank you so much, especially during these times.
I've been using a monk fruit/stevia combo for a while now and it works for me. No, it doesn't taste quite like sugar but it's close enough for me and it's a small price to pay to avoid diabetes. It's not easy finding gum that doesn't have aspertame AND tastes good. I chew a lot of gum and I am currently chewing Pur, but it doesn't taste that great and the flavor only lasts about 2 min.
Thank you so much for doing this video. My husband recently made keto cookies with monk fruit and was worried I messed up on my keto program. Glad to know monk fruit won’t increase insulin.
I was excited to find that erythritol tasted so good because I was really craving sugar. You have to use a little more to get the taste of sugar, so anyway the one day I made a latte and wanting it sweet I put 3 teaspoons in that. Then a little while later I made a glass of squeezed lemonade and put 3 scoops in that. Well later on I was so lightheaded I could hardly stand, my eyelids drooped, and I was getting a headache, and I was almost like slurring my words! I googled erythritol dizziness and found that other people had similar reactions from eating a lot of it, like when they made sugar-free cake frosting with it. I think it does something to your blood pressure or something if you eat a lot of it at once? Just be careful! It kind of wasted my whole day!
Please discuss Alulose also. And recommend the best combo sweetener, made up from these 5, in fixed proportions, perhaps also including a little honey or sugar.
Grow your own stevia plant; it is easy to do in a container. When it dies back in the winter i SAVE ALL THE DRIED LEAVES and add some to my coffee beans when I grind them.
If a product has"___in the raw" it's first ingredient is Maltodextrin! Glycemic index is 2X higher than cane or beet sugar. Maltodextrin is a fancy name for corn sugar
Monkfruit has been the winner for me it does not have a tartu aftertaste like stevia, as for the sugar alcohols I found they can actually affect your adrenals when eaten too often in too large amounts. I stopped right away and began to feel normal. Thoroughly research these things that don't just grow or naturally occur please. For non keto and you just want to lower sugar intake but still taste somewhat normal, I sweeten with a combo of either maple syrup or raw honey for more depth of flavor and then add monkfruit to make it a tad bit sweeter. Works like a charm!
i just made a creamer for my coffee using coconut milk and a monkfruit /erythritol blend. i could not believe the sweetner was keto approved or wouldn't affect my insulin levels! it's sparkly and looks so much like actual sugar and even sweeter than sugar! How does this work!!
@@everydaynightz I need to see the studies before I believe that. They erroneously tried to blame stevia for causing cancer. If true, it needs to be substantiated, I will do a search to see if there are any studies proving that assertion. When a plant or herb has been used for thousands of years without issue, I don't know if I would trust the studies anyway, because they were probably funded by the sugar industry which has a lot to lose when people start using alternative sweeteners.
@@abbynotyou6369 Nobody said you did need studies. But, different people have different responses to sugar alcohols, just like people have different reactions to different foods, but because someone reacts badly doesn't mean the food is necessarily bad, just bad for them.
Thank you for the refresher. Finally put erythritol in the coffee grinder. It was a " cold" Tasting sweetener and didn't seem to breakdown. Grinding it has made it lovely to use as a sugar substitute. Found reducing it wasn't necessary, it does respond like sugar when ground😁😁
Never knew ppl use monk fruits as sweetener. Monk fruits have been used as a herb or as an oriental medicine for thousand of years. The elders in my family all use the fruits to make tea to control their blood sugar level and have been good and steady results.
@@francesarmstrong7877 Monk Fruit does taste really good, without the high glycemic index or the high calories of regular sugar. No matter how much raw Stevia I use, (or how little), there is always that bitter taste. Sometimes I will buy the Whole Earth (Stevia + Monk Fruit), but that's only if I can't find the Monk Fruit by itself.
Life changing for the good, this Doctor is so knowledgeable. Healthy Keto is so good for my insulin resistance. Staying away from sugar alcohol.. Stevia, monkfruit works perfectly.. I can finally enjoy lemonade without sugar spikes🎉🎉
This is precisely the video i needed to see. Been having problems with intermittent fasting and what kicks me out lately. This will solve some of that. Thx!
xKillZone99 I enjoy a small dose of stevia with a large dose of monk fruit, coffee, 1 pat of butter (raw/grass fed), cacao powder, Vanilla extract, sea salt, small amount potassium salt, small amount mushroom powder... and a kick of cinnamon or cayenne depending-
I have been suffering from bloating and ibs for years. Recently my stomach issues have become much better. The only change in my diet was eating some no sugar zooper dooper icy polls which contain xylitol, erythritol and steviol. Yet to figure out which one is helping out so much. Just wanted to mention this so others suffering might find some relief to
Dr Berg needs an updated version of this, but also add allulose to the list and address any studies on if erythtitol is linked to an increase in heart attacks.
I've been on Keto for two months. I use Monk Fruit for all my sugar replacement and love it. Thanks for all your videos. Oh, I've lost 25 pounds and my morning blood sugar is around 94-100. :)
Good job. Keep up the good work. Would you like to share your Keto/ IF success story on my website? I'd be happy to see your story there. Feel free to upload your story here: www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story
The three sweeteners with a zero glycemic index have a bitter after taste to me, but if I mix 2 parts erythritol to 1 part xylitol, that takes away the bitterness. I also like using these two sugar alcohols because they can substitute 1 for 1 with sugar in recipes. Make sure they are organic because even non-gmo products that are dried are sprayed with glyphosate at harvest.
Hey! Please tell from your experience, is stevia completely safe for regular use? And can even a diabetic consume it without having to worry about any increase (whatsoever) in blood sugar and/ or insulin? (From India).
Could you do an update on the safety of xylotol? How does it digest in your body? Is it absorbable? Does it pass through? Is there enough study on it? How does affect people with IBS or SIBO or low fodmap? Thank you. I do love your videos.
I don't consume anything with added sugar in any form whether it's real, fake, or natural from any source, except fresh organic fruits. I kicked sugar to the curb January 28, 2021 and haven't looked back! Once you kick it you will find out that you can feel better than you did yesterday!
I eat sauerkraut 2-3x a day, sip ACV/lemon water and put a little Himalayan Pink salt on my tongue if my appetite peaks between meals and it severely limits my desire to taste something sweet, not to mention the added Vitamin C, cruciferous and probiotic aspects of sauerkraut. I have 2-3 avocados a day to get my fat, fiber and potassium requirements which used to be a big problem for me. I look forward to eating chicken thighs with butter with the skin now in 8 out of 10 meals the most at this point and using the collagen broth from baking it as a small cup of coffee substitute with Himalayan salt, pepper, butter and a few drops of cream. I use my liquid stevia once a month now if that. I used to eat 5, 1 pound bags of cookies a week, had a large container of Hershey's Syrup in my fridge and cans of apple and cherry pie filling whenever I wanted and of course enjoyed my diet sodas that canceled all those sugar calories out. LOL. A special shout out to candy corn and orange circus peanuts as well. I don't know how I ate like that for 65 years and never got diabetes but I became aware I was insulin resistant just because of my large belly and in my searching found Dr Berg,. LOLThank God for Keto and Dr Berg!!!!
WOW!! I was addicted to that sugar.....candy during the day and candy at night w/desserts after dinner....ice cream and cake. I started w/the ACV morning and night....took away the sugar cravings. I am prepping for KETO...Thanks for the tip about the SALT!! I don't have diabetes but my pressure is high....Work stresses me out....
You're welcome. Your stomach can't make the acid to digest your food if it doesn't get salt and potassium. I like the Himalayan salt because of all the minerals that are in it. HBP was the frst domino to fall for me along with getting stressed out by a job I loved. Sounds like adrenal insufficiency. You might like to watch some videos on adrenal fatique.insufficiency. Vitamin B1 ( I cycle using Benfotamine, Solbutimine and Allithiamine B1 analogies) with nutritional yeast (natural B1)and potassium brought my blood pressure way down and I am on only one medication for it now in it's smallest dose. I was on 4 blood pressure meds. It was 200 over 120. It is now 115 over 75. Avacados have 700mg of potassium and I eat 3 a day to help to get my 4700 mg a day requirement. I use Nu salt potassium clorice salt substitute 50/50 in my salt shaker to help get the rest. The avaocados also give me all the fiber I need between 35-45 grams.
Thanks and you are right on point. I take potassium, sea salt, magnesium. B complex/extra folic acid, Vitamin C and D. I found out about my adrenals today...keto should fix it all...
I've worked so hard to ween myself off sugar I'm scared to even allow myself safe sweeteners. But I do break every so often so why not break the safe way or not at all by allowing my sweet tooth something made with love... and monk fruit lol. Thx again for your channel. Changing lives, definitely changed mine.
Stevia is perfect for lemonade. I make my own Stevie extract from plant and I after experimenting I found I could barely taste stevia in it. Great for the summer months!
Although certain sweeteners have a glycemic index of 0, they can cause cravings, especially for sugar addicts. Many have relapses and / or eat more !!! For heavy overweight or formerly overweight it may be better to avoid them altogether.
I agree with ingesting ANY dessert-like or sweet item on the Ketogenic Lifestyle could cause carb cravings, but you need to be realistic. We’re human. We attend birthday parties and church fellowship meetings and anniversary celebrations...you get the idea. Why not learn to make everything you love, from “milk chocolate” covered peanut-butter cookies to lusciously creamy berry and chocolate chunk ice cream to Tennessee butter cake with butter-cream frosting (for special occasions) from scratch? It’s not as hard as you might think AND there’s another upside to it. When you’ve been Keto for as long as we have, you won’t be ABLE to eat as much as you think you could. Face it, the SAD was artificially programmed, from the GMO engineered wheat berries to the scientifically altered amount of ingredients in the multitude of products manufactured by THE SAME PARENT COMPANY (i.e. Monsanto, Con Agra, etc.) under various brand names that are sponsoring studies to fight the spread of the Ketogenic Lifestyle. Have you heard what happened to Dr. Noakes down in Australia? He, as a doctor, had recommended the High-Fat, Low-Carb Lifestyle to a patient who presented with a medical condition. That person sued him because their standard of diet is akin to our own false “food pyramid”. His medical license was threatened and it took three (3) years to have that case dismissed as they had some DEEP pockets as the wheat and sugar companies down there jumped in to subsidize the plaintiff’s attorney. Just as much as Dr. Sarah Hallberg and Mrs. Teichel are vilified for their outspoken and unapologetic approach to spreading the word about the life-saving and healing that can be found through the Keto Diet, they also advocate realistic approaches when it comes to sweet foods. Especially Dr. Hallberg as she has a family and bakes items on a routine basis. Her TEDTalk was the first video I found on RU-vid when both I and my son were diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in June 2016. By September 2016, we’d dropped 40 pounds each and our A1Cs were normal...and it was through eating Xylitol-sweetened cookies, cakes, cobblers and ice-cream.
There's a very interesting video by Dr Ken Berry MD regarding sweeteners. I agree that I don't think that should be daily. Once in awhile as a treat sure. Although you can consider making it less sweet, and adding a tiny bit of rice syrup or honey, if you don't like stevia. I would use Stevia or real sweeteners because I don't like the more highly processed products like erythritol.
Everything you’ve said about these sugar substitutes is spot on. Erythritol definitely gave me stomach pains. Stevia’s aftertaste is just long and lingering n yuck. Monk fruit’s aftertaste isn’t as bad and wins hands down for me.
I haven't really noticed any aftertaste with stevia, but I buy the dried leaf and use it in tea mixtures, primarily, so I'm steeping it from the original, unprocessed (except for drying), plant. What's really irritating is that 10 years ago I bought a jar of stevia powder and it was like $2.75 for 6oz. I used it sparingly and it lasted me years. When it ran out I tried to buy some more and it was almost $20 for a 1 oz (or less) tiny container. That's why I started buying the raw dried leaf.
Xylitol WAS my favorite sweetener until I watched the 2 on Keto Connection eat it and then test their blood sugars. Spiked the same as sugar. Back to stevia for me.
mel Dolma I am diabetic I take xylitol and no change in blood sugar Guess need to test personally & see and taste especially baking and stuff amazing just like sugar as Dr Berg says
the one that had the same effect as sugar in their video was Maltitol! although Xylitol wasn't as good as Stevia and Monk Fruit, it still would be considered a very much better choice
Stevia is good when mixed with another sweetener. Sometimes I’ll mostly sweeten with stevia and then a half of a teaspoon of maple syrup. It really cuts out the bitter aftertaste.
@@dps5819But honey isn't Keto and it causes insulin spikes so what is the point ?. Honey is only slightly lower on the glycemic index (GI) than sugar and it can still cause blood sugar spikes .Honey has a GI score of 58, and sugar has a GI value of 60. Per tablespoon honey has 64 calories while sugar has less at 48 calories, honey has 17 grams of sugar per tablespoon while sugar has 12.599 grams ,honey has 17 grams of carbohydrates while sugar has 12.6 grams....and If you are worried about insulin neither sugar or honey or maple syrup is a good choice
@@cassiekay8633 .. The point was already stated, it helps with the taste of using stevia, the spike is So small the level would hardly move unless you're using a lot of it, for a cup of tea you really don't need that much with using stevia, honey has health benefits that are very good for our health & not everyone is worried about keto, even natural food can increase insulin, it's all about moderation, our body does need natural sugar, the difference is "Natural" Our bodies are designed to discard what our bodies don't need, it's all the synthetic artificial man-made products that is not good for our bodies, people need to learn the difference..... That's the Point..
THANK YOU DR BERG. You have helped educate me in my life style change and finally I am able to loss weight and feel so good! Hi Dr. Berg just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your videos and all the information you give. I have diabetes, I plan to do Keto very soon, because I understand it much better because of your videos.
I agree 100% that Xylitol has the closest taste to regular cane sugar with none of the weird after-tastes and bitterness. However, caveat emptor: xylitol can take days for your system to adjust to and can cause severe diarrhea for up to 3 days until your system gets adapted to it. If you're needing a cleanse--I would give xylitol a try. Once your system gets adapted, you will not have any problem unless you stop for a period and start again. I am a sugar addict and this has kept me from getting diabetes. My savior.
I agree wholeheartedly, sir. Xylitol is the only sweetener in my house now...after spending time and money on all of the available sweeteners. I agree with you that Xylitol does not cause the GI distress as well. Thank you for your video.
Wendy Crayon Do you have a Grocery Outlet near you? I lucked out recently and found two cases of 2.5 pound bags with 10 bags per case for only $10 per bag! It was an incredible deal! Look online with NOW foods. My friend said she found the 2.5 lb. bags for only $6 per bag, but I think there’s a shipping and handling cost involved. I love it but you must be careful as Xylitol is TOXIC☠️💀🙀 to housepets.
Perhaps the best example is cyclamate, which was banned in the UK in the late 1960s for having links to some types of cancer. It was, however, re-approved a decade later - though it remains banned in the US. For the same reason, monk fruit remains banned in the UK, though it is legal in many countries.25 Aug 2022
I use Whole Earth (monk fruit and stevia together). Monkfruit alone, I love, I don't notice the aftertaste. I could never use Stevia alone, very bitter. Erythritol, I cannot tolerate, instant turn off. Xylitol does give me digestive issues.
Personal experience: I made keto cookies with Swerve (Erythritol), almond flour, butter, and vanilla and it *killed* my stomach the next morning. Cramps, diarrhea, nausea... from 2 cookies. I’d advise erythritol in small doses.
Erythritol causes similar problems for me. I also tossed out my “stevia in the raw” due to additives…in the raw…you would think it was pure stevia. I’ve learned to only purchase NOW because stevia is the only ingredient.

@Moe Wilson Hey! Please tell from your experience, is stevia completely safe for regular use? And can even a diabetic consume it without having to worry about any increase (whatsoever) in blood sugar and/ or insulin? (From India).
@@saurabhkesharwani6143 so stevia comes from a plant. You could grow a small stevia plant on your kitchen window and eat the leaf. It would be very sweet. This is why I use stevia as a sweetener. It is not sugar and it is not a man made chemical, like aspartame. I only really consume it in my coffee and the odd time as a treat in a soft drink called Zevia. I have tried it a couple of times in baking, where the recipe was designed to use stevia. It is more expensive than sugar but I believe healthier. Dr. Berg is the one to probably ask about stevia for a diabetic. At 52 I have no health issues, and specifically I am not diabetic. So, taking stevia for me just seems like a healthier alternative. I have no idea how it plays with insulin levels so you should reach out to a doctor or nutritionist.
Thank you very much for sharing doctor. I am currently growing this fruit in Central Vietnam, using organic methods. Hopefully one day this special fruit will reach you.

Let me tell you that Choc Zero Maple Syrup sweetened with monkfruit is the best keto syrup I’ve ever had. Tastes better than regular sugar syrups and is thicker.
Dr. Jason Fung in his book The Obesity Code says that Stevia doesn’t rise glucose but it rises insulin? ??? So it produces insulin resistance.... 🥺. I am quite confused.
Believe it or not, some things can raise insulin without raising blood glucose levels. They say that the sweet taste in the mouth triggers digestion in a way that the pancreas preemptively releases insulin to bring incoming sugar into the cells
Dextrose is added to sugar free products. I use stevia with plain yogurt. I can add chocolate pea protein for flavoring, or a little unsweetened fruit.
