These two always give it all they've got. They are genuine, authentic, creative musicians and true artists. They always try new things and get better and better. They deserve your attention and support. Something this good only comes around once in a while. Aren't we lucky?
@@jdy5556 My view, too. (Though "Woolf" is perhaps my fav track of all - see RDC at the Icehouse video with Toni letting rip toward the end of Woolf. But, yes, "Morse Code" is brill.
@@dbreardon No. But we are RDC supporters on Patreon, and we posted this video in that community for them to see. Our goal is to drive traffic to the artists' channels and websites, and so far they have been quite receptive. Thanks for your support!
RCD’s tunes are as sincere as they are sweet, as melodic as they are melliforous, and as deep as they are dangerous. Thank you so much for your music Elle and Toni.
They're so talented. Have you checked out our video about Josh Turner? They make an appearance in there too! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HMeDAoX5aaY.htmlsi=JFLR2LM-v-k_8hA8
@@fortivomusic Joshua Lee Turner and Carson McKee are also wonderful musicians and it made me happy to see my favorite duos go on tour together! Such talent!
I think Rachelle is flat out the best lyricist working today. She is a true poet. ‘Nuf said. I took in the Candy Apple Red show in San Diego and they sound just as good live as they do in the studio. Toni’s virtuosity is something to see in person; she is just fantastic. And, yeah, we’re all just stars and bacon. 😉
Great comments! Her lyrics are truly impressive. Her background in English literature shows through her masterful poetry in song. And Toni? Well, we can't get enough of her playing!
We are so much alike and since she's the woman and I'm the man it was she sings about stuff in her life I did to watch movies that talks about them things in life it's like the one she goes I got to set the unique set of skills they stoled off of my front porch she went to her garden in the backyard and started planting weeds in her garden I was in the front yard spraying Roundup in their new lawn we got unique skills we know how to give him a payback it's payback time hahaha unique set of skills God bless you woman😊😊😊
Not only are Reina and Toni two of my favorite artists because they are so good at their craft and pretty young ladies..... they always look like they are throughly enjoying themselves and having fun! 😘😊
I discovered reina del cid about a year ago i was looking at covers of some songs and come across her and Toni and been hooked ever since great talent them two no matter if it's a cover or original material they're grrrrrreat. We need more talent like this because music nowadays sucks.
Reina is a great great singer. A true talent. And a fantastic writer. But Toni? She's the special sauce. Probably the most effortless looking guitarist I've ever seen, despite how hard she must have worked to get that good. She''ll play ridiculously hard stuff and make it look easy. Together these two are formidable.
Roswell is how I discovered Reina and Toni. Later I saw them live on our courthouse steps during the UFO festival. I am now a lifetime fan. Thanks for this review. I've subscribed and shared this. I expect to enjoy learning of many musicians through your work. Your delivery is professional and engaging. I wish you all the best.
Yeah - Reina is something special when it comes to songwriting. Her live/video work with Toni Lindgren + Josh Turner/Carson McKee (& Mary Spender, The Petersens etc) is in my opinion amongst the very best music you can discover (for by now, the last 15 years or so)
We couldn't agree more! So ... we just published our episode on @JoshTurnerGuitar. We hope you like it, too. (Mary's episode will be out in the next couple of weeks ... stay tuned!) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HMeDAoX5aaY.html
Josh Turner is also another great talent I've seen a lot of his videos and like RDC he does great covers and original. My hats off to people like these that keep the music alive and for that I thank you.
I've been listening to the girls videos for a year or so, glad your channel popped up, cause you have introduced me to some of originals I haven't heard. These girls are so talented , not just in the music, but the settings and content ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
They're a tremendous duo. Saw them just last year. Their work with The Other Favorites is incredible, too! My absolute favorite of theirs is Annie. That one gives me chills every time.
It's hard to describe the feelings I get when I listen to Toni and Elle. I guess smooth, peaceful, contented, all is well. Even when the song is sad, they make me feel good ! Listening to their songs on my playlist, it just goes from one beautiful rendition to another.
Way to go! A fan from day one. Can't wait for you to visit South Florida and I can't wait for the world to get the opportunity to enjoy your talent. Keep up the hard work. I have no doubt it will pay off one day soon
When the musical Rolls and Royce come to together, Woolf is one of my all time favorite songs, Roswell close behind. The technical display from Toni is incredible
Interestingly the This one's gonna hurt video was posted the the same day as i had tickets to see her play live for the first time Oct 21 2018 in Hamilton , Ontario, Canada. i can't pick a favorite of her songs i love them all , but if i had to i would choose Apple and Oranges.
We couldn't agree more! Without giving away any huge secrets, you'll be happy to know that we have similar episodes focused on Josh and Mary coming out in the next few weeks. Hopefully you'll like those, too!
As promised, we recently published our episode on @JoshTurnerGuitar. We hope you'll like it, too. (Mary's is coming up in the next couple of weeks.) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HMeDAoX5aaY.html
What a great collection of musicians backing this beautiful singer … and that lead guitarist is simply amazing and beautiful to boot … doesn’t get any better to bring off this unique and uplifting song.
Thanks for this video covering one of the best singer/songwriters out there. I first became acquainted with RDC when I chanced on their marvelous cover of Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here and I was hooked.
On my profile on Facebook I told everybody there is one very special person on here she's one of a kind you are special very funny add a nut great sense of humor and the greatest personality that most people don't have me and you have it a lot of people don't even realize it
“Cassiopeia” is how I became aware of Reina. What a charming lullaby for a techie new mother to sing to her child. I just love it and am so grateful to have heard it from Reina.
"Cassiopeia". Every few months I swing by Reina for some good music, and every time I am taken in by her soft gentle breathy voice. I don't think anyone in the future will be able to mimic her voice, it is special. And she can write a tune alright. Reina is a gift to the world, we should enjoy her while we can.
Yes she is amazing woman and I appreciate her very much the older she gets the more beautiful she gets she is just perfect woman I love her she is amazing I wish I would have met her years ago very talented smart she's a nut and she cracks me up love you woman God bless you and may God keep you safe honey❤❤❤❤
A fitting portrait of two of my favourite artists. I've been following them for some years now and was delighted to see them live in Cologne last November together with The Other Favourites. Thank you for spreading the Good News. Reina and Toni deserve more attention.
Been following the Girls on RU-vid since the beginning. Been great to watch them grow musically. Such great talent. I remember the early videos when Rachelle's soft voice was almost inaudible and then they learned how to mike her so that she sounded better and better. I bet her song writing talent will some day be discovered by a big name who will want what she has for their own. I think its only a matter of time.
Reina - and Toni - are fabulous; they are each brilliant and mega talented in their own ways - but put them together and wow! So brilliantly musical. Toni is now my second-fav guitarist, behind only Sir Brian May (and he's been my number one for decades - way before Toni was born!). Reina's use of vocabulary to write her songs brings superb, intelligent results. These two are recommended to anyone who likes music.
Is it a coincidence that Reina is a space nut just like Brian May, the astrophysicist? 🙂 Also, sometimes it sounds like Reina's lyrics take a page out of Neil Peart's playbook for writing intellectual literature-inspired songs for Rush.
I discovered Reina del Cid while searching RU-vid for Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill - Reina & Toni's cover knocked my socks off! Another favourite cover is Neil Young's Harvest Moon. I never get tired of listening to these two covers which says something. Both women have great personalities as well and I love and admire them hugely.
I've been a fan of Reina since her University of Minnesota days. Her video of Library Girl recorded in the university library was an eye opening example of her talents. I'm so pleased that she and Tony found each other there. What a partnership! She has collaborated with many other young artists from Josh and Carson to Mary Spender.
Boy, you're a long-time RDC fan! Very cool. Our goal is to help introduce artists like Reina and Toni to new fans, so hopefully this will help. Thanks for your support!
I only have known them for about five years but yes, that Library Girl (for which she was excluded from her beloved Uni Library fotr a while - sacrifices for one's art) is a classic. Apart from its own qualities, it was so inspirational for other young (and not so young!) musicians. And yes, despite each being superb, the combo of Reina and Toni is yet greater than the parts. (Ps through them I have also found Josh and carson and Mary).
@@sebxiou-av375 Please stay tuned ... in the next few weeks we will be releasing similar "Artist Spotlight" videos for Josh/Carson/TOF and Mary Spender. Hopefully you'll like those, too!
thanks for featuring Reina del Cid and Toni. I've been following them for several years and love their videos. I would have liked a bit of breathing room at the end of each of their performances before your commentary. just two or three seconds to let it fade before the commentary comes in.
Thanks so much for this feedback! We will take this into account with future episodes. Also, if you enjoyed this episode and want to listen to the RDC tunes without the commentary, please check out the playlist we compiled: ru-vid.com/group/PLvEyos1mHetdGZoUtVl4qwR8DTKDneBzH
She can certainly sing a damn sight better that I can! 😄 But I wouldn't really classify Reina as a vocalist (though obviously she does that and is well practiced at it!). Rather I'd call her at heart a songwriter, a poet. A wordsmith who sings what she writes, rather than a singer who writes something to sing. A Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan or John Prine rather than a Whitney Houston, Freddie Mercury or Luciano Pavarotti.
@@zak3744 i kinda tempered my opinion from 2 months ago. Elle (as i understand she has reverted to her real name.. Rachelle ?) really has talent and should showcase it the best she can) .
> A Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan or John Prine rather than a Whitney Houston, Freddie Mercury or Luciano Pavarotti. At the same time, her voice has a certain quality to it; at least for me I just find it so comforting to listen to.
WTF. In Stockholm, did I just see Toni switch to left hand guitar. Please tell me it was a reverse image. If not I can only assume that Toni was playing left handed. Is that even possible? She is very talented, OMG she is talented.
The more I listen to them the more I believe they are primarily a bluegrass and country duo . I don't want to pigeon hole them into one genre but that's what stands out. I hope they get some true national attention.
