Artistic Adventures in Spain: A Watercolor Escape 

This was a fabulous experience. Emily is so warm and as wonderful an instructor as she is on her RU-vid channel, better actually because we received personal guidance to help us improve our painting. Spain is incredible, and the venue and staff were fantastic. I highly recommend participating in one of these trips with Emily if at all possible. There’s nothing like being around a friendly group sharing a common passion in an amazing locale.

This art retreat was a dream come true! I already knew Emily was an amazing instructor, but to see her paint in person and to receive personal instruction was truly a gift.❤ The venue was beautiful, and many life-long friendships were made. I hope for many more of Emily's retreats in my future.

Can you do one of these within the US? Preferably west coast 😊

Hi Emily. Jim from Madrid, Spain (a fellow artist and a New Yorker expat living abroad). GREAT video and a beautiful place you were staying at (could you share the name or website of it? I would love to go down there some time with my wife!). I've been to Ronda before and it's a beautiful small city with great views and amazing picture/painting perfect snapshots all over. BTW - for all of you who have never been to Spain before... it's a wonderful country to visit and frm the North to the South or East to West it's full of amazing and beautiful towns and cities with incredible history and monuments, architecture, etc... And the food is delicious wherever you go, plus great wine and beautiful shinny weather all year (that's why they say... "the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain"). 😁😁 Wish I could've joined you all. Maybe someday. Cheers from Sunny Spain! 😁👍😎✌

This looks amazing! I wish I could have gone, but most of my travel budget goes to visiting my elderly Mum in the UK twice a year for several weeks at a time. I immigrated to Colorado Springs 24 years ago…so if you ever do a more local art retreat, I’m in :)

Hullo Emily, I have attended just one retreat during my art “career” and it was as a participant. I have wonderful memories of pitching in and helping the instructor when they became just a bit overwhelmed with the number of beginners that joined the event. I suppose that the organizers did not do a thorough selection process to keep beginners at 50% or less it was more like 75% attendees were beginners, this was simply too much for one instructor. I have hopes for my future to attend an art retreat and not be involved in the instruction, yet I did learn something while helping other attendees and I was able to use techniques that I learned that week for classes that I did run years later! You are afforded opportunities for learning, if your open to them when they appear! I wish you many more chances to create and explore art instruction in local venues, I imagine that the Grand Canyon is close to you and would be an easier location to host a retreat, hopefully real soon!
