If the portrait of your dead grandma is so important, you should've do your own research and actually pay for it. Trying to get a free tattoo and getting a random person to do it is on you.
In fairness you're signing up for one of the most renown if not one of the most renown competitions for tattooing. Yea theres risks, but its not completely just some randomer doing a free tattoo. That being said, someone who doesn't do black and white and hasn't done a portrait in over 10 years, never ever should have attempted it tbh. You know you're going to fuck it up but you don't care for that enough over a chance at the prize money.
Nah Don is just kinda creepy and offputting, Cleen's a big meathead bro looking dude but he jumps right into the "calf on your calf, so cute" "Omg we're thinking the same thing, that's so fun" because he knows how to connect with clients
They robbed Kyle like wow he did very very good for such a tough spot and Amanda’s was RIDICULOUS. The fact that one judge said Kyle had visible crookedness is insane. Amanda’s temples was horrible but upper half was ridiculously crooked. Kyles still looked good.
How could they possibly think Amanda’s was better😭 I feel like they let people slide constantly for shit work and eliminate people who deserve to be there
Don saying “she can’t attack my artwork so makes up reason” babe, she CAN attack the artwork, it’s shitty and she has it on her leg until it’s covered up. His customer service manners suck
I feel like they did Kyle dirty. He has terrible luck with his canvases, and they kept on giving him a hard time but still gave him this slight hope that amounted to nothing once they voted him out (which was a vote that I personally disagreed with). I felt really bad for him, considering he did his best with all the pressure placed on him. Not to mention the fact that a certain asshole was heckling the entire time and it probably stressed him out even more.
I just think its bad bedside manner to say u dont give a shit about the tattoo right in front of the person ur tattooing. Yes its their competition, but knowing how to treat clients is a part of the job. And someone says shit like that to me Im walking away. Fuck it. I'll get it covered by one of the super talented artists I normally go to. 😮💨🙄
Jesse was already an ink master when he came into the show. On one instance, I think it was while facing off with Anthony in one of the later seasons, Cleen said "a lot of people try to do what he is doing for so long and simply can't. There is a science to doing these fucked up things that he does which simply makes his designs work." So for me Jesse is an ink master with a unique style he developed himself. And the only thing that the moron Christian said who fucked up a traditional eagel, of all things, was "When I look at it I have to believe that it is capable to exist." Bull-fucking-shit. Jesse has more creativity and skill while taking a shit than that asswipe.
I know everyone has a specific style of tats, HOWEVER, if you come on this show, your going to have to study all forms of tattoos or you just DON’T have what it takes to be ink master (lol)
Right? Its always wild when people say they only do their style and 'I've never done X style in all my 20 years of tattooing'-- HOW are you Ink Master then???
That was painful to watch but tbh I wouldn't have let Don ever touch me again either. His portfolio of work proves hes shaky at best. I dont blame the girl, she wasnt being rude.
@@user-jy2sj4ed4i Haha, thats an interesting theory! Idk, I didnt sense anything like that. I just think Dons ego is greater than his artistic ability. Throwing his sketch book and wanting to throw the couch shows his inability to express his emotions thru a healthy outlet.
@@user-jy2sj4ed4i Haha, yea I caught that influction now that u point it out, but nah. I think the insult to Dons artistic abilities on national television was enough to make him flip emotionally and react that way. But who knows? Maybe ur right! 🤷♀️😄
You can really tell they sympathized with Kyle during a lot of his critiques. When they finally sent him home, they seemed pained for the guy. Made me wonder what chemistry building conversations he had with the judges.
Okay but can we talk about Tyler and how he said he could care less about the tattoo INFRONT of the client like come one it’s going on his skin forever !!!
Lol okay so when Don said “I definitely don’t need Cleen’s help” I got a Pampers ad and it came out as “I definitely don’t need Pampers” and idk I just thought that was funny
"And I've got a canvas who has very strong feelings about where to put the tattoo." Yes, Jesse. That will be permanently placed on someone's body. Of course he'll have an opinion.
Oh my gosh Kyle was robbed, Amanda’s tattoo looked way much worse than his did, Kyle’s tattoo was actually good the only thing about it was that it was crooked and you can barely tell. Amanda’s was bad on the eyes all around they literally said she didn’t have a good outline, contrast etc. and they let her stay? bs!!!
I have loved every season of ink master except for the season where Christian was a coach for some god awful reason. His feedback was consistently awful and he brought such a horrible negative energy to the season. What an absolute clown I can’t believe they greenlit that idea for a season every episode made my blood boil.
@@artisticalex1206 Cleen and Anthony would be my favorite coaches. Cleen brings that intense competitive energy while Anthony is way more chill and quietly plans his attack. Much love to Steve and DJ, but as coaches I don’t think they really did great.
Whenever I see the clip of the guy who says to Jesse, "This woman's a saint in my eyes, she always will be. We talk about her like she's in the next room," I gotta call BS on him. If she was such a "saint" he wouldn't have gone on a competition TV show to get a FREE tattoo done in 6 hours by a random tattooer who may or may not know how to do portraits.
You could research and pay for a tattoo and still have it be shit. The people on this show whether they win or not are supposed to be some of the best to even make it onto the show.
And who even watch this for the drama? Like I understand why youd manufacture drama in like the Bachelorette or something. But who comes to Ink Master for anything else than watching people make good/terrible tatoos..
Doing this show was a win-win for Jesse Smith. He's mastered one art style and that's alright. He got to show off his work. If I'm looking for a specific style, of course I'm going to go with somebody who specializes in that style.
Jesse was probably my favorite artists to ever compete. He was very professional and didn't argue with any critiques. New school guy who did the best Japanese work, and when he came back and did a black and Grey Obama portrait, I was blown away.
Christians little speech at 17:30 is so annoying. Dude it’s a competition let people play their cards. I never saw Cleen or any of the other coaches acting like that.
I actually love how they've made these fully grown adults who typically aren't into all this drama bullshit are going at each other like it's highschool. Christians one of the worst and one of the oldest lol should be one of the most mature and wanting to avoid the drama bullshit
I thought Kyles tattoo looked wayyy more aesthetically pleasing and dynamic. It was a beautiful tattoo. Amanda’s looked too silly. I feel like at the end of the day it’s an artwork and is meant to look attractive, I feel like that’s not considered enough in this competition.
Sometimes tattoo's warp depending on the placement, so maybe he thought that he could counteract the possible warping by stretching it out but it didn't quite work how he thought it would.
I’ll never understand how people say “it’s not my strong suit” I mean the show is fucking called INK MASTER! It’s not Ink new school or Ink black and white only
I’m sorry I don’t care what your story is .. if you volunteer to get a free tattoo on ink master you have to know that these people are under so much pressure and aren’t in the normal tattooing environment they would be at home. Like for the “fat grandma” tattoo, if his grandma meant that much to him, he should’ve did the research and paid the money to get a seasoned portrait artist to do it. I’m sorry you can’t complain when it’s a free tattoo
The thing is that was Mike majorly screwed up. Gia had been on the chopping block for a few challenges by then. Yes, I know the judging is inconsistent, but I'm trying to see how it worked.
Gia had been on the bottom numerous times before pinup day and she was given one of the easiest tattoos to do and still fucked it up. She was barely hanging on and pinup day was her last chance to redeem herself and she didn't deliver
Half or more of the people who come here don't like how they have tatto In Styles there usually agents, do thing there not use to doing, and get pissed by the end of it. The point of "feeling like a caged animal" is understanding, and is a great point, but sadly you are not here to be the best at the things you do, but to have range and skill to do it all at top level. If anyone comes into your shop, you can get any tattoo done that they will love to have for as long as they live, but you can't do that if you can't measure up outside of your comfort zone I'm bothers me that so many contestants don't get that
In my head @3:05 she starts crying like that and they cut to the dude's facial features making it look like he is thinking - "oh she's busting out the tears! Fair play, good effort." edit - timestamp
As a portrait artist I would’ve drawn the grandma as normal then put it down to see what it looked like before making any changes. I get the guy had little experience with portraits but he shouldn’t have made any changes to the original photo.
i understand don and the girl, don fucked up and gave her a bad tat that’ll be on her forever and also has a weird vibe around him, but to be fair the design was what she wanted she just said that she didn’t like his character which is kinda bs but like i get it both ways
Hard to say for sure. I think it's because, at least it seems like, tattoo artists are into tattoos from a young age. Which then results in alot of juvenile ideas to get blasted on/ in addition they don't yet have the disposable income to go for the best work possible.
Chris is kinda creepy. Seen him on Miami Ink hitting on a client and kissing her neck. He kinda just gives off that creepy vibe to me. Dave, however, is hot af and comes across as genuine and respectful imo.
