Even with an inexpensive synth, you get multiple wave shaping features and analog multimode filters. Arturia is definitely one of the most accommodating manufacturers of synthesizers and seems to not price gorge its synths like Sequential or Dsi, Moog, Waldorf, or Nord, just to name a few. I hope they continue to create reasonable priced synthesizers based on their functionalities.
@@crysstoll1191 You're obviously a spokesperson for one of those price gouging companies! Tell your money, hungry boss that I and other independent thinkers have gone viral influencing millions by spreading the message that we will no longer spend our money with price gouging companies and will invest in Behringer and Arturia only because they make the best synths at reasonable prices. Our movement has cut into millions of the price gouging companies' profits, even forcing Modal into bankruptcy. Tell your money, hungry boss that bankruptcy is right around the corner.
Cool synth. I had access to a microfreak for a bit and was surprised how versatile it was. No wavetable? That's weird. Hopefully there will be some Micros floating around used...
Thanks for this review! I already have so much gear and not much time to actually make any music (or people who would like to listen to what I make), but this device is really tempting - does tickle the ear in very interesting ways haha :D
You're welcome! And yes, I know the feeling re: too much gear 😹. But I'm definitely enjoying this one and even used it in a formal recording project already.
I know this will be back ordered for months and months upon release but unlike the micro freak this thing speaks to me. May have to cave in on this one. So much range.
It seems that you can get a sawtooth from multiple engines. But I'm afraid none of them sounds bright and full along octaves. In microfreak Basic Waves you get bright sound in high notes but muffled sound in the bass. and you get the opposite with V. analog engine. I would like to have this fixed in Minifreak.
@@CatSynthTV They weren't. That's why I returned mine. One of the engines were more suitable for basses (low notes were richer in high frequency harmonics) and the other engine had a brighter sound when playing high pitch notes. I diagnosed a bandlimit issue which I didn't like.
Thanks! And yes, you can set the oscillator volume as a mod target. Press one of assign 1/2/3 in the mod matrix and then wiggle the volume knob the oscillator you want to modulate. We actually do this at about 18:20 in the video for Oscillator 2 😺
It is a matter of considerable curiosity; what is the connection between sexual deviance and synthesizer playing? The two phenomena are found together together far too frequently to be explained by mere coincidence. Many great synthesists are perverts.
