Voice : Naples and music have been always so close, and Naples gave many illustrious contributions to Italian culture. At the end of XVI century, Alessandro Scarlatti, teacher of queen Christine of Sweden, arrived in Naples from Sicily. Domenico, his son, was the successor of Alessandro's glory: as young chapel Maestro in Rome, playing for the Pope, he fought on the keyboard with Haendel. He also was teacher of clavicembalo (harpsichord) in London, and have been teaching Princesses in Lisbon, and then Naples again. With Scarlatti's lessons harpsichord changed for good : In the first chapter of his "Exercises" he wrote - "Oh you, young player or Maestro, don't expect from this pieces a profound lesson, but expect instead a joke and a challenge game to become awake in the art of harpsichord." He left thousands of Sonatas, his writings gave a new meaning, a different voice to keyboard instruments, he starts future grandiose developments of piano, and now, the never ending youth of his notes resurrects (Arturo start playing op.461 and set unsurpassed heights of virtuosism)
