Another video featuring an exceptional layout from the Bluebell Model Railway Weekend in 2022. This is Arunvale, a 00 Gauge Model Railway built by Worthing Model Railway Club.
Set at a fictional station in the Southern Region, the layout features a good mixture of both steam and diesel power and really captures the feeling of a busy little station.
This exhibition layout really is fantastic and when I saw it at the Bluebell Model Railway in 2022 it was easily my favourite of the show. For me it ticked all the boxes - a large, interesting layout, incredible detail and most importantly they had trains running constantly! I was lucky enough to film several little sequences take place on Arunvale so I hope they inspire you as much as the layout inspired me.
...right, I'm off to build a Southern region layout 😂

An excellent layout that I eventually look forward to seeing in 'the flesh' so to speak. Much excellent detailing including the cable routes and SR wire fencing. Also the mixture of brick platforms with harp & slab extensions. Well done! 🙂

It's definitely a fantastic layout and was one of the highlights of the show for me! The operators kept trains running pretty much constantly but even in the short gaps between there was plenty of exquisite details to keep you interested. Thanks for watching 😃

This is awesome. It’s the type of layout I wanted to build years ago but I’ve never had to space to build in OO gauge and I don’t see enough of what I want in N gauge

I think we'd all love to have a layout like this! If it's something you're still interested in perhaps consider joining a club as they often have larger layouts - or alternatively you could build something yourself that breaks down into smaller sections like I've done with my modular layout. Beautiful work, here. Scenery, trackwork, locos and stock all good. SR is enjoying quite a flurry of interest in the digital sphere, lately, as well. I wonder if a rake of Pullmans would actually have been only 4 coaches in the day. Looks great in model form behind the MN.

Yes the Southern region has definitely been getting more attention - especially as more pre-grouping models come to the market too. I suspect a Pullman train wouldn't have been that short but I agree it does look great behind the Merchant Navy. Thanks for watching 😃

What is the scale for the cars. Would hot wheels work?

00 Gauge is 1:76 and Hot Wheels are usually 1:64 I think, so it depends how worried you are about the difference in scale. Thanks for watching 😃

Nope I'm afraid not. I go to exhibitions and railways all over the place so I wouldn't say I'm close to Bluebell at all, although I usually go once a year if I can. Thanks for watching 😃
