Welcome to the first video posted on my then new RU-vid channel "Drew's Model Trains", now renamed "Drews Model Railway World". The original post harks back to a time when I was an active member of a model railway club in Perth Western Australia, a club that specialized in the Southern Railway/ Southern Region (BR), the layout was based on the Watercress Line, notably Alton where the national rail terminates today, and the heritage Watercress Line (aka Mid Hants Railway) takes over.
However, the channel will be a catalyst for my own layout which has yet to be built, as I amend this introduction it is still in the planning stages and rolling stock and motive power are still being acquired, keep watching this space.

New to British railway modeling.... This is a awesome layout. Would really to build something like this...well station and yard. Is there track plan of station and yard... that I could look at? Thank you Andrew

I am also modelling Southern but not to such a high standard as Alton! Cracking video.

Thanks for your comment and subscribing, much appreciated. I too model Southern, and Great Western. My skills are yet to be tested as still at baseboard stage. Alton was a great layout shown many times at Perth's annual Model Railway Exhibition, it was a culmination of many club members , some on track, some on scenery, some on buildings, and electrics, and the list goes on. The layout got many awards over those years. Sadly the club dispersed in 2016 after we lost our clubrooms and the layout was broken up, parts still exist as members to took them to build into their own layout. The current layouts I use for filming whilst I build my own are Haltwhistle (a past exhibition layout) and Medley a new exhibition DCC layout... Drew
