Rob! You said it! Frank and Nancy had a hit duet called "Something Stupid" from 1967. Nat King Cole was the one who had a duet with his daughter Natalie singing "Unforgettable". "Go-go dancing began in the mid 1960s in the Mod era of England and America, quickly spreading throughout the rest of the world. "Go-go dancers are dancers who are employed to entertain crowds at nightclubs or other venues where music is played. Go-go dancing originated in the early 1960s at the French bar Whisky a Gogo located in Juan-les-Pins." Wikipedia.

Of course, Nat had been dead 20 years when this "duet" was recorded as a tribute by Natalie, who held sway as a FEMALE CROONER, in the modern era. Listen to "So Many Stars", the excellent Sergio Mendes tune that she recorded, a hauntingly besutiful song that shows off her amazing voice. Other female crooners from the day that deserve a listen: Dinah Wahington, Dinah Shore, Rosemary Clooney ( the actor George Clooney's aunt), Doris Day, and 40s era Ella Fitzgerald. All these ladies fronted big bands by the likes of Count Basie, Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey, and others. The jazz of that era was the Pop Music of that time!

I’ll agree that the Nate/Natalie duet is a great one, but no one has mentioned he had been dead along time before the duet was produced magically by dubbing his original hit and her vocals mixed in years later. One thing you have to remember with older artists is that they were trained to sing without microphones. I say Patti LuPonne (huge Broadway Diva, possibly best known as Evita), and she put the microphone down and sang so I could hear her four stories up. I think that kind of training in how to project really did make a huge difference in their tone.

They also didn't use auto-tune. Which in my opinion has ruined the music industry. Don't get me wrong, there are still some amazing artists in today's era. But the older songs and singers, told stories and portrayed their emotions with raw talent.

@@billanderson8194 I'm not sure I can agree with that 100%. Some people use autotune as a good sfx (like Cher or Foster the People with Pumped Up Kicks). However, I understand your point, and can agree it probably happens more often than it should.

@@jackwells8107 and I agree with you. When used for a specific purpose it can add elements to a song. But it's the over usage of it that I have a problem with. As I said. There are some amazing singers out there today. But the studios over use those features so you can't truly get a real feel for the singers voices. I'm sure, most of the artists out there today, when they started. Didn't have all of that so there is talent. The studios and producers just over saturate the market with it.

Lee Hazelwood wrote this song to sing himself. The "boots" were written to be cowboy boots. But when Nancy heard an early demo version she pleaded with him to let her sing it. He agreed if she would let him produce it. He became her regular producer and they even did some duets ("Jackson").

Thank you.and keep up the good work. Nancy must have been born under a lucky star. She had a HUGE crush on Elvis, and one of Elvis's first appearances after he was discharged from the army was on the Frank Sinatra show. Elvis and Frank sang a song or two together and it sounded AWESOME, you can imagine two of the biggest stars on the planet singing together. Then a few years later Nancy was in the movie "Speedway" co-starring Elvis. So, she got to star in a movie with her crush Elvis and her dad was Frank Sinatra, poor girl can't catch a break.
