They are SO awesome live. Besides System of a Down, As I Lay Dying was my favorite live show ever. I crowd surfed for the first time at their show too haha. Favorite band of all time! Seeing them again in December!
For the record, the date for the AILD - Beyond out Suffering video is wrong. They started the tour in Florida (July 12th, 2010). The video says July 14 which was in N. Myrtle Beach, SC @ House of Blues SC. The more you know...
Actually, on their website, under the FAQs, there's a question that reads "are you guys five christians in a band, or a christian band?" and they replied with "I don't know if there's a difference between them, but we're a christian band." It's been a year or two, so I'm not sure if the question is still up.
@Seph1231 it means you don't know much about this band :) they have said it in many interviews and mention it on their DVD "this is who we are." And so what if they are? we are all free to believe in what we want, aren't we? ;)
when i listen to this.. i just only see that, the art of metal is such a beaty, that not even christians can contain themselfs from playing! everyone is a metal head lol
What we see now is only a fraction... Bound to learn the hard way (hard way), this is the human condition. There is nothing that can be said to stop us from making mistakes. When I look to myself as a source of ending pain, no matter how many times before I've failed. Ya... It seems our problems solve themselves when... when we look beyond us to those truly in hell. The more I focus on myself, then the more helpless that I become. So why not erase this point of view? My suffering is trivial... Beyond our suffering. Ya... ...compared to those who know real agony. It seems our problems solve themselves, when we look beyond us to those truly in hell. It seems our problems solve themselves, when we look beyond our suffering. It seems our problems solve themselves, when we look beyond our suffering. Go... My trials seem insignificant now. Why won't we look beyond us? Why won't we look beyond our despair? It seems our problems solve themselves, when we look to those truly in hell. Go... Personal redemption cannot change the world, unless we lay down our lives for those who still suffer.
A video is a video, i really dont care about it. They make amazing music and will do for a long time, so suck out all you pricks that dont like it because of the video. AS I LAY DYING ARE FUCKING HEAVY!
This song reminds me that my problems really are insignificant compared to those in hell. It reminds me that the simple stuff about " my iPod broke or I lost my phone or something like that" can't compare to the armed forces fighting overseas are in hell and are fighting for their lives and country. Just a thought. :)
@dnorLOL lighten up brother maybe the guy won a fan contest to edit an as i lay dying video and he was blind and deaf...then you'd feel pretty bad wouldn't you lol
I'm not saying that them band memebers are not Christians. I'm saying that the band is not necessarily Christian. There are many religious paralells, but no direct mention of religion. Tell me a song in which God, Jesus, David, Joshua, Peter, Paul, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Ezekiel, or John are mentioned. Are there any Psalms mentioned? No. Is the band religious, sure. But is the BAND, not the members, explicitly Christian? No.
