The journey of this band… Jesus…it’s unparalleled and hits heavy on anyone that takes the time to listen. Go read this man’s lyrics and follow his walk though hell. Ugh… it’s powerful. We all have to walk through it but not all make it out. He did and we have his journal of it. Go back to their first album and start it like a book and just read… it’s some heavy heavy stuff man. Then you’ll get this band.

They have a live version of this song (2018 in Europe). Its awesome. You should check it out.

Been listening to as I lay dying since 2006, they happen to be the first metal band I truly got into, so here are some of their best songs imo: Elegy (This song is more of a personal favorite off of their first album) Within Destruction An Ocean Between Us Nothing Left Meaning in tragedy Reinvention (ReRecorded version) Morning Waits The Sound of Truth (this is a big song in the fan base) Forever (also from the first album) I never wanted The Darkest Nights If you like the song in the video you should definitely check these songs out, As I lay dying has one of the best drummers in metalcore, Jordan Mancino is just too good at double bass, Within Destruction is a great example of that.

I joined a hardcore band when I was 17 (almost 2 decades ago lol) and I remember listening to this band and fully understanding the metalcore formula.. The melody/how clear the notes are/the punchyness of it all.. Sadly the band found it too complex and those songs went to waste.. But still a really great era of music. Wild that we had this same style in the early 90s but it was kind of ignored until perahps 10 years later.
