I’ve already been threatened with eviction and a knife by my landlord, I had to leave with my family. Now living in a hotel in Florida. A lot of people are moving into cheap hotels and some managers are working with families to pay partial payments weekly. Yes, it’s expensive and I don’t have much money afterwards, but my family is together and off the streets.

I pray these people had somewhere to go. This is so sad.

Housing and Real Estate ARE commodities and always will be in this country. America is built on capitalism, not socialism. Do you make money? Can you pay your bills? That's ultimately what it comes down to. With entitlements as high as they are in this country, I have a hard time understanding how people are having problems with housing. Houston is one of the worst cesspools in America. If you can't afford to live there, move someplace where you can afford an apartment. There are always jobs, but Americans think they're above working menial work. Sometimes you have to take what you can get.

Live without paying is a big no. Landlords are not charity givers. These people were behind for 6 months rent. The landlord still has a heart. For the apartment business, they wouldn't wait that long to evict people. They will give you the most 30 days.

I think people were in trouble financially before this pandemic. Almost in every story. They start off by saying ( I was in the middle of starting a new job. Then this pandemic started. ) OR. ( I was in the middle getting a raise. Then this pandemic started. ) obviously Everyone new one day the unemployment boost check receiving extra money. ( And ) This rent forgivness was going to end. One day. When it took affect. People act surprised. No everyone had enough time. My husband daughter and son all went back to work willingly before the checks got cut off. People should've never gotten comfortable receiving extra money. Like that family hadn't paid rent in 6 months. That's extreme Everyone knows you have to pay to live Back in the day the depression hit this country bad. Many did what they had to. Today its this pandemic. Everyone needs to fight to survive. Kicking and screaming but you have to. We live in this world today that not even air is free any more. Go to a gas station and try to put air in your tire without having to put coins in that machine. Behind in rent by 6 months??? Oh my geez. What I am not understanding is that so many people who were laid off or furloughed during the pandemic were on unemployment and were receiving not only regular unemployment (or PUA) but were also receiving $600 extra weekly from the Federal Govt. and instead of choosing to pay rent they were all out spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on material items that were not a necessity (which I myself witnessed on many occasions during the pandemic) instead of paying their monthly rent that is a necessity.

There's to many people wanting positions of power too. They don't just evict people for not paying rent. Some of them want to snoop in your apt too. They don't like it when people get comfortable so they will find the smallest excuse to fine you, until eventually they evict you. They can never really stop and put themselves in the tenants shoes because daddy paid there way through college.

I am from Houston and if anyone can tell the story is I... The Store goes like this: Houston has one of the lowest Housing and Apartment rate in the nation. The problem is that most of these people that fall into this condition are those that do not and will not work cause of criminal records and history of not being able to work or have the lack of education are skill to work to maintain a proper living. Next many of the women you see and hear that fall into these position also are trying to make Husband and Lovers out of these men that can not provide for them, but instead trying to support his Drug habit and Street Life habits off of Government aid. There are many job in the Houston and surrounding area and throughout America, What has happen American has made a generation of people that are dependent on Aid to Pay for their Bill, Habits and Baby Making Life style. These are mostly Young age working people and around Houston you see young people all through the day low-riding, walking the streets, baby making and getting high instead of in a School of some type or on a Job and the same with the young women, Loving and trying too make husband out of men that can't even take care of themselves. Please what you do with you time will show. Only the Elder, Unable are the one we should be crying for not young people with a house and apartment full of babies and trash about from partying and having fun all the time,!!!,,,Go To Work.

I don't understand these landlords, it is not as if, there is a line of people waiting to rent from them. Either way, they are still losing money, whether the person can't pay, or if they are evicted. Yes, the person is gone, (who could not pay), but you still are not getting your money, DUH!!!! The only positive thing about the south is the weather stays warmer longer, but here in the North where I am, once it gets cold, there is no way you are going to survive outside.
