This is our Asatru blessing ritual where we cleanse and purify a batch of oath rings that we offer on our website at www.survivalhardwarellc.com Before we get into the blessing ritual of the oath rings, I share a few examples of the blessings that I have asked for in ritual on some interesting tools of my trade while practicing Asatru as an active duty Marine Sniper.

Yea, it is an heirloom for sure, I wish it was still functional but it's not really worth the rebuild. It would require a new barrel, bolt and receiver. Pretty much not the same gun at that point.

@@northwoodskindred where there's a will there's a way 😁 gunsmithing is all about time and money. Depending on how much material they took. It being decommissioned by a military armorer I would agree that you'd probably be looking at new parts. But there's a chance a lot of the old material could be repurposed possibly.

I don't know of any attestations of a blessing or naming ritual being done. That said it makes a lot of sense to me given the known mindset and practices of the culture and practices. Great video my friend.

I have a few questions for you. When Blessing Altar Tools, who do you recommend asking for their blessing for said tools? Also, is it possible to use incense rather the smudge you have made? Another is really important. When you bless the altar tools, can you use the same tools you are blessing? I am still fairly new to this path.

Truth is that there are no rules or very much historic information so most of this is UPG. Not that it's a bad thing, words and intent have meaning so do what feels right in this respect.

i was with Darkside 3/4 in OIF 4 & 5 (06-07, 07-08 is what they were later named) i have found a lot of veterans have come over to the old gods, i just wish i would have found more while in instead of so late

I didn't know any other Asatruar on active duty for my entire career, except the one dude in SOI that introduced me to it, but we never met again after that school. I did know a lot of guys who wore a hammer or had an odd Norse fetish. 🤔 probably best that you waited hahaha.

I heard that the reason why they find a lot of swords in rivers was because they were sacrificed to the gods into the water just one of the things that I had heard the sacrifice of one sword it was one of the biggest offerings you could give

Do you always need to use the entire bottle to blot? I ask because i have a huge bottle of whiskey and thats really all i have to offer.

You can do whatever feels right and works with your situation. My way, is not the only way. It is just what works for me.

@@rasiabsgamingcorner2258 I understand that in this economy for sure. Maybe find a small ornate bottle to transfer a bit into and use that "entire container" rather than the wiskey bottle. Or, brew up a quick mead. We have a video for a cheap and easy mead. Other options are juice, milk, or beer.

My take on it is that the gods appreciate what we offer whether it's humble or elaborate. Sharing some of what you have with them is the important part, in my opinion. I've offered the last beer I had in the fridge, I've offered some of my tea, and I've offered really nice liquor. I work within my means at the time and have never felt like the more humble offerings were lacking. I see nothing wrong with using a little at a time. By portioned some out into a separate bottle you are choosing that to be an offering and can use all or some of it, whichever way is best for you. Just how see it and how I do things.
