This design looks like a mixture of his alola design and is design from black and white

"National Dex is cut from the games, but at least Ash is back." This hurts in more ways than one. otherwise, though, yeah, that new design is pretty dope.

The hat has a "C" as in Champion, hat's first hat represented the League, the new one represents his title.

I feel like whatever happens in Pokemon stopped meaning anything a long time ago. Waiting for plot significance in pokemon is the equivalent of waiting for plot progressions in Spongebob Squarepants. First season there was a goal, and Ash always said it, "becoming pokemon Master" or something along those lines. Somewhere in it's many seasons that was no longer the Case, When a show is now made to be something that lasts forever it is no longer a show of plot and story progression, however it gives the illusion that ash is still striving for something. After every season Ash is reset, and that make it impossible for plot to exist, and inconsistency in time, level 3 snivy's beating ash and him being surprised by new moves that he himself has learned 2-3 resets back are examples of this. Whenever ash resets, I feel like I'm watching an episode of "Dora the Explorer" where everything ash encounters in battles gives him the surprised Pikachu face.

Thank God he's got normal looking eyes😂

I like how it’s a combination of sun and moon’s goofy animation and X/Y edginess. I think it works well

His design just looks updated to keep in style of the Games artwork. Bigger eyes, sharper designs, etc. He honestly doesn't look bad and I'm digging the jacket. But for the love of god GIVE THIS MAN HIS JEANS BACK

They did a really good job of combining all characteristics from previous regions in this new design: Kanto and Johto: The vest Hoenn: The hat (same colors) Sinnoh: Gold trim on his vest and the stripe on his shirt (his Sinnoh vest had a single stripe across it) Unova: The eyes... also vest color and pockets I suppose lol Kalos: His face/demeanor (the shirt and shorts to an extent was something he wore when sleeping) Alola: No gloves, shorts, and art-style

Also he looks more like XYZ Satoshi (thankfully)

This character design is a big yes for me atleast. Due to he actually look like ash should. And not something rushed from a-1 studio
