I did math before theory videos appear to talk about the real age. It was when XYZ happened. I thought he'd be roughly 15 years old, and I was correct. But... He wouldn't be 15 since Pokemon wouldn't allow it.

Eddy Dynamite Theyre going full digital animation now with fluid motions. I think the XY series were mostly initially hand drawn before putting in a computer for additional effects.
I agree. It’s just...his XYZ design made him look more mature, but Sun and moon was a step down, but, there’s nothing I can do about it. This art style however, is miles ahead of the Sun and moon designs, and I’m not disappointed.
That's simply not true. It was good and all but saying it's the best is discrediting all of sun and moon which until now was the highest effort and highest production quality Pokémon series ever. XY was your typical shonen series whilst Sun and Moon were just more mature over all.
I was honestly worried Tokyosaurus stopped uploading because the first time Nux did that caused people to dump hate on T, but I'm glad that didn't happen.
Sun and Moon already did this and far better than any series the anime has ever given us. Especially the train wreck of a story and character cast we got in XY besides Alain.
to me, ash felt like someone in xyz other than no one. even though xyz/xy ash had little character growth, it was still enough. his personality and his weaknesses (that show in some episodes) was good
Ash looks great in this art style he does look like a serious and also a little goofy Pokémon Trainer and Gou looks like a great Trainer as well. Not to mention the music of the anime sounding dope.

I actually like both art styles. The both look stunning in their own way. I like how Sun and moon looks simplistic in a good way. And I also like how the new series is taking inspiration from sun and moon, except it looks powerful with it's color palette. I don't give two shit's about what people say about the Sun and Moon art style. What matters is that I enjoy it.
This new art style is definitely an upgrade from Sun and Moon. I’m excited to see how they’re going to do 2 main characters, as the anime hasn’t properly done that since DP.
Pikachu I honestly thought the Sun and Moon styles were rather nice and fit the setting. This new style is more reminiscent to the kind we all know which gives me a sense of nostalgia that I find rather pleasant. ... I just realized when typing this that my description is rather detailed. I’m normally really unsure about my own feelings.😅
Caleb Goodman I agree Sun and Moons art style fit it’s more laid back style. This is going to be more of a traditional series though so this art style is a good fit. I’m just glad Ash doesn’t look weird anymore.
in XY there were kinda 2 protagonists, Ash and Serena, cause Serena was doing showcases also in Hoenn it was Ash and May, she did the contests like Dawn
Pokefandylan2000 True May and Serena were important, but Ash was marketed as the main character. Whereas with DP at least in the JP original Ash and Dawn were both marketed equally. The opening narration says DP is both their adventure, I don’t think they did that for AG or XY.
Agreed. The whole reason i didn't follow SM series was because of the bad drawings. This seems a bit of the same as in SM but its already a lot better then SM. So maybe i'll start watching it again
Aidan Dekens Sun and Moons art style wasn’t bad, just different to reflect the theme and tone of the series. XYs artstyle wouldnt fit within Sun and Moon’s theme. I agree that the Galar anime has improved the art work and animation, but that doesn’t make Sun and Moons bad.
@@ipotatosenpai7002 well i liked the drawings of XYZ and DPPT. The drawings of SM made it look like a anime(and it started like this) but its a cartoon series(it became later a cartoon). The drawings of XYZ, DPPT were better in my opinion cause it was a real cartoon. The action drawings in Unova were the best in my opinion if i compare it to other action drawings(Iron Tail for exception). I respect the people who are a fan of the SM drawings but its just not my taste
The style looks like a mix of sun & moon with the power of us. I dig both and this mix looks really good! Gou has really cool visual but I hope his personality is not to much like Ash's. Because it kinda looks like in the trailer. I'm kinda sad with the end of Sun & Moon, because I love those kids, but I can't wait for this new series too.
Hyurno I am sure for a hardcore anime fan you’re right but as a casual fan who likes Pokemon I don’t see the appeal at all and I know a lot of people whom agree and don’t feel the need to have another protagonist in the series.
Surprised you actually didn’t mention they had a shot that looked like Ash was wearing his Gen 1 cloths. One of the shot where his looking at flying Pokémon. 👌
They should replace Ash with someone new keep them for a couple years but throw hints out or mention a strong trainer traveling with a Pikachu that would hype the fans up to see how much progress Ash has been throughout the years.

Real Talk: The Anime looks just like every other Japanese anime. There used to be a touch to the anime before that makes you know it's Pokemon. But now I can't even see the characters and say its Pokemon. It's not a bad thing though Change must happen, that's how we grow

I will not try to make you believe that SM is perfect since it is not, but it is the first time that Pokémon tries to change the formula and focus more on the story and its characters. Search if you want the chapters of Mallow's mom or the Miniors and you will understand what I mean.
My idea of a perfect send off to the pokemon anime (whenever it happens) would be a final non-game, anime only season, where Ash goes back to Pallet town, and once again takes part in the Indigo league. But this time, as a bad-ass utilizing all his pokemons and skills that he has gathered over the years.
Lol 2 main characters and they're both guys. Whoever made this decision must be a fucking genius. Anyway at least the art style looks pretty good so maybe just maybe they'll do a good job with Bea and that part of the story will actually be interesting. We can only hope....

I'm still hoping them might add a 3rd companion and just haven't revealed her yet but at this point there's a good chance we're gonna have just these 2 as the main protagonists which would seriously suck.
Slawischstreiter It would be weird if he didn’t have more companions. I am guessing this is still early on since he normally has a regular group of four to six with at least two human companions. Pikachu is still there at least and we have a Scorbunny so four protagonists. I hope that cheers you up at least a little.
Ronnie 2K yeah that was my favorite part, but I had hoped that Serena would return and develop it further but then we got sun and moon, (which I tolerate but just barely) but I would like to see her return so they can develop that story more as a way to retire Ash if they must. Personally I don’t want him to be retired but if they want to do that then I’ll accept it on the grounds of them actually wrapping up his story with Serena. Otherwise it’s just a cliffhanger that hits below the belt.

0:06 yeah, all right. I’m with it. 3:02 two main characters is the better choice. Give the newer characters spin-offs if need be, but Ash is a necessity. Replace him only after he hooks up with Misty or Serena. We really need to find out if he’s in a coma or not.

SMH looks like they still have the Sun and Moon animation. Why?! Why do they think this style still works? And I was spot on about this being an alternate series. The previous characters no longer exist. I don't like the direction they're going. Looks like I may have to skip this series too. I'll settle watching the past anime
I think that pokemon anime is going to full digital drawing animation now. The XY series was mostly hand drawn with a mix of digital effects. The sun and moon., I think, is the first pokemon series that was fully drawn digitally. The director says that digital animation with fluid movement is suited and match for Ash's cheerful personality without removing his heroic character.

If you are referring to animate in a tablet or in paper, is basically the same, It doesn't affect the quality or the style. In any case what did happen was that for SM anime animators were allowed to do key-animation in digital tablets if they feel like it, but most animators still draw on paper. That thing about fluid movements,he wasn't talking about the animation method, he was talking about the DESIGNS, the rounder and less detailed designs are better for more dinamics scenes, and it also allowed animators to make more extreme facial expresions without making them off-model.
fnaf_super fan 16 that’s because it’s legit the SM art style with some tweaks, people are legit blowing things out of proportion with how different it looks. It’s barely different at all.
I respect the studio for trying something unique and different. But, I hated Sun & Moon. The weird visual style, slice of life format and stronger emphasis on comedy made it the first pokemon season I refused to watch. I already like the look and feel of Sword and Shield's anime WAY better.

I stopped watching pokemon because of the terrible animation in Sun and Moon. When he was in Kalos it was way better. It looks like a show for 4 year olds now.
