#asicsrunning #runningshoes I recently took the ASICS Metaspeed Edge Paris out for a 5 mile race. Watch the video to see my thoughts on how the shoe performed over that distance.
@@markoljustinaI fly in on Friday. Am probably going to do a shake out run on Saturday. I want to check and see if Kofuzi is having one on Saturday, since I know he is from there.
I reviewed the Takumi Sen 8 about a year ago. That review is on my channel. I was between that shoe, the Nike Streakfly and NB pacer and went with the Takumi Sen. It’s my favorite short distance tempo shoe. I bought a second pair of the Sen 8, on sale, since I liked it so much. I’ve been doing a lot of marathon focused training since then. So I haven’t put enough miles on my two pairs of Sen 8s for them to need replacing. I buy all of my own shoes, so I do a lot of research myself before purchasing. The other shoes that you mentioned are on my radar. But I don’t think that I’ll be picking those up anytime soon.
Roka. They are a brand based in Texas. www.roka.com/collections/ultralight-performance-sunglasses/products/sr-1x-lightweight-sunglasses?variant=41107961905199
Good question. I think it actually splits the difference in a nearly perfect way. I find the foam in the AP3 very durable and gives you more of a responsive feel and a shallow bounce. The Edorphin Pro feels softer and bouncier. But it’s actually not as fast for me because of that. I prefer a firmer foam in a race shoe. So it’s not as firm as light strike pro, but has more energy return. And it’s not as soft as PWR Run PB, but has more of an aggressive feeling bounce (rather than a soft one).
Yes, shallow bounce a perfect way to describe the AP3. I have them both and your description matched my experience as well. I’ve been very tempted to try to the Asics Metaspeed Paris (probably Sky). Thanks for your help!
@@Kevin-fz7ytit’s a great shoe. The plate in the Sky sits higher in the forefoot. I thought that the Edge would work better for my running style. I’m on the larger size for a runner (6’4’’ 225). So I want a little more stability for a marathon. But I can see this shoe being great for every distance from 13.1 down.
@@Fozzee.1970Thanks for your insight. I recently took them for a 14 mile long run and was also happy with the stability over that effort. I think 13.1 is the max distance that I’d use them for in a race though. Really looking forward to pushing hard in them for a 5k.
