No matter how hard your day was going from 2 to 5, it just got a bit easier. I FEEL LIKE WE HAVE LOST YOU TWICE WHEN THE BIG SHOW ENDED AND NOW FOR GOOD WITH ONLY MEMORIES RIP STEVE
Sleep tight Steve. I loved listening to your shows whilst driving long lonely hours in my van. Ask Elvis, the old lady, factoids, all absolutely fabulous, your show kept me going through lockdown and more. Such a sad sad day 😢😢
My late father used to laugh with hysterics when he used to listen to ask elvis with me. This brings back happy memories of my father. Thank you Steve for your comic genius and memorable radio shows. Sleep well your work is done my radio buddy.
Still utterly gutted at Steve’s passing. Just listening to these old clips of “ask Elvis” and hearing Steve and Tim laughing in the background is bringing tears to my eyes in happy and sad ways! He will be greatly missed by myself like loosing a family member.. May you rest in peace Wrighty 🙏🏻
Rip Steve looked forward to your show when on the road driving my truck.Had lots of laughs sometimes would be in stitches and almost crying especially the Elvis segment, shame on the bbc for axing the show .
RIP Steve, you gave me many hundreds of hours of good music and laughter over many years. I have to say Elvis was one of my favourites, very slickly done, clever and hilarious.
Ask Elvis was one of Steve's legends! I listened to these podcasts while I was at university in 2007-2011 on my way home from university at that time. I have some Steve Wright in the Afternoon AND Steve Wright Sunday Love Songs radio shows from 2016/17 if you want to re-listen to the best and the greatest BBC Radio presenter legend, ever, Mr. Steve Wright, at: www.youtube.com/@by_antony
Scott Mills is currently asking Radio 2 listeners what they think of rice, and would they like to eat some on air.... 😫 And we gave up Steve Wright in the Afternoon for this garbage..??! The BBC should hang their heads in shame... 😠 BRING BACK ELVIS..!!
