@Em_D_EM_Aye I wish they'd tell people that some of us are physically incapable. It's just about how they're built. The angle of their hips might not allow it.
I could never do aerial cartwheel. It was a mental thing because I could do aerial walkovers. I would always put my hand down and once my coach made me hold her glasses in the hand I always put down. I didn’t break her glasses but that hand still went down 🤸🤷🏼♀️🤸♂️
lol that happened to me for some time! I recently got my Arielle a few months ago and how I got it is first I practiced it on a trampoline to a mat, then I practiced it on a normal trampoline, then I practiced it on the bouncy floor but with a mat, then every time I did it on the mat I would lower the mat, once I had it without the mat on the bouncy floor, I would do the same thing lowering the mat on the regular floor. What helps me with not putting my hands down is I used to put the hands right in front of me just tucking them in, but that was wrong. That makes it more easy for me to switch up and put my hands down. What helped me was to swing my arms back behind my head, it gives you more momentum and it’s harder for you to second guess yourself and put your hands down! Idk if this will help or not but I told you what worked for me lol
Apparently, some people have to point their toes upward in the middle split in order for it to work because of the way their hips and pelvis meet (or something like that). You should try it!
That’s just changing from a middle split to a straddle which are technically different. Tightness in the hip flexors & piriformis will make a middle or center split difficult much like tightness in hamstrings & adductor/abductor muscles will make a straddle & front splits difficult.
@@Luke101 she said the skill she could never do, meaning even at her peak as an NCAA gymnast for Alabama. Even with a 'bigger' body for a gymnast, she was fantastic. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PZGg_x-Fz0E.html here's a link to her 2019 floor routine.
Hi Ky! I can’t stop crying because I miss you beam queen so much. I was the one where you gave the superior award in group one! And I just want you to know that you were so amazing, and please respond to this. But I love beam queen so much, and please host it in that city again next year! 😭😭😭❤❤❤❤
The lack of bridges makes me feel so seen! 🤣 this is SO RELATABLE! ( but when I was an active gymnast, I COULD do walkovers… but now I’m old and my back doesn’t bend this way. Can’t do a middle split anymore either 😂)
I don’t understand how they can’t do some of these skills when they are so basic. My coaches required us to keep up our lower level skills as we progresses
I can do a backflip, a back handspring, but not a back walkover. I think it’s mental. With a backflip or a walkover, you have to just throw it and hope for the best. You don’t think once it comes to the actual flip part, not like you have to do with a back bend/walkover. That, plus it’s a lot easier to flip or handspring because of momentum, at least in my experience. With a back bend/walkover you have to hold your muscles like that for longer. It’s like weight tossing using the swinging motion vs slowly lifting the weight above your head, or having to hold your pushups.
It requires certain flexibility in the back, seems she hadn't found the time to train that yet, most likely she focused on other areas. There are so many skills and developing flexibility and strength in different parts of the bodies is an endless journey
I've been a dancer for 8 years, almost 9 and I can do all of these, except for a press handstand. I've been trying to do a press handstand for so long 😅
If this i real,I feel less bad 😭 for decades I could do these skills, but recently found that I can't even do a bridge or a back bend. This is after 2 years of not doing them and being hunched over in remote work. Hoping to build these skills back up 💪🏾
I still can’t do an aerial I have a rlly bad habit of putting my hands down, but my dad said I could totally do it bc of my hight, I just get scared Any tips 👇🏻

@@Maspets I can comment what ever crap I want. My opinion is my opinion. No one in the whole world can't do a press handstand with THAT weight. Sports is about being fit and in shape not eating burgers.
@@pipkalover And apparently you lack basic comprehension skills because this is not about your RIGHTS. It is not your "opinion" that no one can do a press handstand with your weight, you just pull garbage out of the abyss that is your mind and think you're right. But that burger comment shows how much contempt you have and how your "opinions" are worth nothing.
@@ellajosephine156 The point of this video is that it's surprising some high-level gymnasts can't do some 'basic' skills, we're well aware a lot of gymnasts can do all of it.
