I just lost my Luigi 3 days ago. He died in my sons arms, surrounded by his family. He went peacefully at 16 years 3 months old. I've had Westies my entire life, but Luigi was the "great one". I cannot stop crying, I've kept his bed by mine & I have his lock of hair. I know it was a blessing to have him held as he passed peacefully and naturally, but he was my everything. I think once you are a Westie owner, you understand. They are a wonderful, smart & loyal breed. I miss Luigi dearly and these videos are bringing a little smile to my face, and having his sister still with us (Peaches) does too.
Ah so sad my wee westie Rosie died on the 13 of July she was 12 miss her so much but here in northern Ireland it's very hard to get another westie as they are hugely popular wee dog but of course nobody will ever replace Rosie, just I love westie and that is the only other dog I would get
@@telhadaway3833 So sorry about Rosie. Would you consider getting a rescue westie? So many animals in need of a loving home. Molly Moos westie rescue in Limerick is worth checking out. There's couple other westie rescues as well. Maybe you could check them out on Facebook.
I definitely feeling the same as you but I sure that Luigi never leave u, always with u n around you🌈 n wish u happy n healthy life! Be happy Maria, Luigi loves you smiling face
It’s 2022 and I’m watching these cute little babies. We normally adopt Cairn terriers from rescue organizations and we had three at one point. Sadly we are down to one and it breaks our heart to even think of losing another. Adopting at 6,7or 8 years old just doesn’t give us enough time with them. We lost our oldest Cairn this past January and it devastated my wife and I. My house was way too empty with only one so we just got our first Westie girl. My heart was too empty and the days just dragged on as my youngest Cairn is really independent. I’m smiling at writing this post. These two instantly made me smile and reminds of my new baby Westie and how I hope my two bond like them. Thank you for your post.
Thanks for posting, after 22 years of consecutive Westies, we bid goodbye to our pal Willie late last year. Never thought my wife could've talked me into one of the "tiny dogs"; now it's amazing how much I miss them....
I love these videos. I had to have mine put down after 14 years. Lymphoma. I used to put my mouth right up to his ear and give him “silent kisses”. I decided he’d go out with a party. As the vet was injecting him I was giving him silent kisses and shoving cheese into his mouth. He was in heaven, so to speak. Tail wagging and a gullet full of cheese with my kisses in his head when he passed. He was just the best friend I ever had. Goofy, smart, silly and a total lap dog.
My Gigi was such a wonderful dog. She was so smart. I miss her every day. She died of lymphoma as well but she was only 7 years old I feel like I was cheated out of precious time with her. But I know I should be grateful for the time I did have. It's only been 3 months and I cry over losing her every day.
I just saw this video ! Brought my ears to me eyes cause looks like some one is holding my dear boys Nando and TiAgo. They look and act the same. TiAgo loved the couch. They are in heaven now. ❤
That must be a fun to have four of. THEM. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😃😃😃😃😃🐈😃🐈😃🐈😃🐈😃🐈😃🐈😃 WESTIES. Are. FUNN. 😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 Good. Luck. 😊😊😃😃😃😄😄😄🤩🤩😇😇😇😀😀😀☺️☺️☺️😄😄😄🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
We inherited our first Westie on the day I left the service. A friend was being stationed overseas and she was with us 15 years. Toby came to us for 16 years of joy. Followed by Mac for 17 years and our last Westie Rooney was with us a month shy of 20 years a total of 39 years of Westie. I read that if you have 2 Westie you never have to exercise them. How true I installed a dog door so they came and went as they pleased and we never had a critter in our yard. I miss each one every day but I revel in the happiness they bought to the family. I long for another but it’s time to let another family experience the joy of a Westie
Hahahahah too cute . I have one , she is totally independent , a genius , a brat , well behaved , doesn't touch anything even if left alone when i go to work and just so funny , like these two just PERFECT ! :) :)
Great and very smart dogs to have, Our two Winston and Lizzy do the exact same thing. At times I can catch them copying each other like they were twins, they will both lay, stretch, sit, stare, and lick the same paws together. Rarely do they separate as well. Our female is a year older than the male and its amazing the companionship these two have and share with us.
Westies are very playful dogs. Two Westies together can be a challenge though! I had two of them, Fiona (1987-2000) and McTavish (1987-2002). Then I got a Scottie and have had Scotties every since.
We had two Westies exactly like these two Eric &Molly Eric was the quiet one Molly was the cheeky one we miss them both. We have just the one now Lola she is a joy loves her walks and long sleeps and is hilarious chatting away esp when the TV is on wonderful dogs x
Just had to put my westie down in January. She was 16. I am so heartbroken. I got a male shitzu in April and I love him dearly but I have had 3 westie in my lifetime and would definitely get another if I could afford one or find a young one to rescue. It was very hard to find one in NY on long Island. I love my little shitzu. And I am very happy with him
The first Westie is selling what the old folks use to call, "Wolf tickets." He's trying to use his growl, and other tactics to scare the other Westie. However, the 2nd Westie is not buying it! 😂 He's standing his ground. He's not going anywhere. This is too cute! 😊
Nice video of two Westies playing they are wonderful dogs I had a Westy his name was Graham and he was a fantastic companion and I miss him so much rest in peace my friend
this is so cute, I had a westie I got him on my birthday but he got put down 3 weeks after he was only 10 weeks and these always make me happy because i feel like im watching my baby all grown up!!
I have a westie he's 16 years andc3 months. He is so silly I've had him sence he was month old my boy Sinook is the love of my life. They are the best.
We've had three Westies in my life Trissy, Holly & Toby, who was put to sleep on 23.12.16 aged 16. We miss him so much but as a family we are hoping to bring another Westie into the home later in the year. Dad wants to call him Toby the Third, as his first dog as a child was Toby too, who lived til he was 21!
Even better get 2 Westies Sandra ! :) The sum of the 2 ( like this video ! ) is so much greater than the individual parts as they have each other for companions when you are there or out and they have a playmate for the home and park. After I lost my Westie I got 4 ( 2 Boys/Girls) and it was FANTASTIC !!!
I had a westie once who really was protective on his toys, so he hided it in all sorts of places. One day we had to take care of another dog, different race and behavior. That dog liked to find everything. Man they soo triggered each other. They ended chasing each other at 200 mhp due to the other dog had takened his toys. They could do that for hours if we have not carmed them down. But they ended up as best of friends Never seen such funny relationship
No ! No ! No ! I have a Dog Hotel and had Westies for 30 years ( 5 in total ) . They are NOT fighting but PLAYING !!...You WOULD know if they really were fighting ! lol My mistake was, originally, only to have 1 Westie but any stayed and gave my old Girl anew lease of life and she lived to 16. After that I got 4 to replace her ( 2 Boys/2 Girls) but 2 is a perfect number as they have each other to play with, relax with, in the Park they have each other to run with and when you are out they are not so lonely. Wherever possible ALWAYS get 2 !! The sum of the "2" is much greater than the individual parts ! :)
These two are merely playing , not fighting, one is wanting the other to play, if they were really fighting, say over food or a bone you certainly would know the difference, not nice to witness and they are difficult to part when really fighting. I had a Westie male, living until he was sixteen, a lovely dog but perhaps a bit lonely when left, now I have two brothers, they are nine months old, one a little more nervous and wary than the 'laid back' one, this nervousness came out in aggressive defence, I did think of parting them but managed to have stopped most of the real fight incidents, and I thought '' how can I put a slightly nervous dog with another owner, it's not the dogs fault he's nervous''. So - glad I persevered and kept them together. The slightly nervous dog, 'Mac' usually tried to start the real fights with 'Kyle', now they mostly play as in the video and chase each other around the garden and in and out of the house which is lovely to watch, I'm glad I have the two dogs, I really think they love each other but still like a bit of a rough and tumble as brothers do, they are great company for each other when left alone. Hard work for the owner though, regular grooming and of course, walkies, but they hardly need proper food, they make do with what the lounge is made up of! But at least they're quiet at night, they only come to life when they see me, 'Muggsy' appear ☺
Yes, of course. This is all in fun but the one is much more alpha and aggressive in the pecking order. The little vocal one is being uncharacteristically brave and gutsy.
Get a companion if possible ! :) THEN see how much more fun both dogs will have. The sum of the 2 Westies is much greater than the individual parts Maja !
Yes it is probably true!:) How old is your Westiers? Maja is now 10 years💗,but she lives with Walter shorthair. She is still playful, and can play with him some times:)
All my last 4 Westies I had ( 2 Boys/2 Girls) have gone now leaving endless memories and videos ! I started a Dog Hotel 2 tears ago and was NOT going to get another dog but I rescued a gorgeous Puppy=Yorkiepoo called Max (2) and he loves playing with all our doggie guests. Got a Westie ( amongst 4 others) coming tomorrow for the 10th successive week ! lol
Yes it's sad when you lose them, but it is good to have many fine and good memories about them:)Great that you have started a dog hote! Enjoy and good luck with all the dogs plus the Westie who come to visit you tomorrow:))
I’m so sorry for what you are going through. We lost both of these also. Bella, the little vocal one just died of cancer in August. We had a big hole in our hearts. Now with a new puppy, we often say, “you are no Bella”. But it is getting better.
i'm glad they are expensive. Only people who can afford the vet bills and upkeep of such special and allergic dogs should own them. Their teeth need to be cleaned every year, they need to be groomed and they need excellent food and constant attention and training. People need to have a good standard of living to properly care for these dogs.
We had Westies when I was a kid and I don't remember a lot of doctors bills at all. Grooming? Well yeah. You want those cute dogs to keep looking cute.
Westie’s are adorable, but I’d be really upset if my dog had the skin issues some of them get! It would break my heart to see them is such discomfort. I've had Shepherds with "hot spots" and I did everything I could to help them, though there was little I could do! As for this behavior, my Shepherds would act like this, too. IMO, as a senior citizen who's had dogs all her life, they're just rough housing. Not fighting. But, like children, it's all fun and games until one of them gets hurt. So, best to stop it before one gets hurt and it turns into a fight.
WESTIES ARE GREAT. PUT BISCUIT DOWN 2 DAYS AGO WE ARE BOTH WIFE AND MY SELF ARE BROKEN HEARTED, 14YRS OF LOVE AND FUN. WE ARE BOTH ARE 74 AND THIS HOUSE EMPTY WITHOUT HER.
I have a westie her name is Apples she be 13 in May i love my baby she so smart n yes Apples runs the house our lives revolves around making sure Apples needs n wants comes first . I cant imagine life without my baby
Are they still o.k ? I had Westies for 30 fabulous years and now have a Dog Hotel when Owners go away so I board them. I only lasted 2/3 weeks before I gave another Westie a loving home and it eased the pain and filled the void when I lost them.
I got a westie for free from a family who wanted to give it a new home, as they couldnt keep it. (Children had skin problems unfortunately) and we love her.
You did well but previous Owners SHOULD charge to ensure the dog goes to a Home that REALLY wants it and paying money proves that. LUCKILY you are a great Owner but you can see why some Owners do charge as some people take dogs for nothing and lose interest.
