That is what happened in ww1 if I remember correctly. The upper classes tended to volunteer and be officers and had a dreadful casualty rate. On one hand, why should the indigenous youth die for a government who has repeatedly made it clear that they are unwanted? On the other hand, the fact that most people aren't willing to fight and potentially die for their families, community, and nation might indicate that national service is desperately needed. It's needed to reverse what government, academia, and media have sowed. They taught everyone that nationalism is bad, white skin is inherently evil, don't be masculine, etc. You reap what you sow!

Anyone can apply for University in Scotland not just the Scottish. Education is valued and so are it's people. They get free prescription too. All on less than 28% of whats given back from the GDP. The SNP did that. Sturgeon did that. It's why they hate her in Westminster.

@@AnjiDuff There are very many more excellent benefits that the SNP have given us Scots. Free childcare, free care for the elderly, free eyesight tests, free bus transport for all up to 22 years old and from age 60, No bridge or road tolls....... I could go on with dozens of other benefits.

@@JohnPretty1 Some pay less tax in Scotland and some pay a bit more. The benefits though far outweigh any extra tax. For example if you have two kids going to university you would save around £20k per year in fees. There are very many other financial benefits that are only enjoyed in Scotland.

We're quite politically aware, certainly in my lifetime, and my grandfather and his pals, who'd served in the war, were definitely switched on. Alas with no real voice. In England, you're fed what the MSM chooses you to see, with very little honest political coverage of what goes on up here. What is reported tends to be very biased and unkind. We've had first-hand experience of WM's smiling but underhand dealings for far too long. Remember, we hate Westminster, not the English.

Anecdotal videos aren't really a fair representation of the wider electorate. We're watching a curated compilation. I can imagine they spoke to just as many ignorant dullards as they cared to show.

Well what they do is they create a discussion first so that the idea is firmly in the public consciousness. Then they create reasons to support the idea. Then the idea becomes a reality. In this case, the tories know they're out for a while, so they're taking the hit on this one to get the idea out there and test the water. But it's coming though. Sooner or later this is going to be a thing.
