Promised myself that I wouldn't binge watch the entire new series. So I just binge watched the entire new series. And am now on RU-vid binge watching anything remotely 'Ghosts'
I found out about this show during Lolly's interview on Graham Norton. Instantly binged both series and am now on RU-vid binge watching anything remotely Ghosts!
I am binge-watching Horrible Histories, Yonderland, The Peep Show and watched the documentary about finding Richard III which I had on my watch list...Simon narrates it. It all really helps with Lockdown... I feel like I have fallen in love with six people...I loved Charlotte Ritchie in Call The Midwife and was very upset when Barbara was killed off, that is why I watched Ghosts in the first place.
• Will we find out more of the backstories in Series 2? (0:50) • For Simon - if you could play one of the other ghosts, who would you pick? (2:25) • Does anyone else have a ghost they'd like to play? (3:40) • When is season 2 coming? (4:35) • Who causes the most bloopers? (5:40) • Did the ghosts get to finish Friends? (7:50) • What is the ghosts favourite show, movie, or period drama? (9:00) • If you had to invite three of the ghosts to a dinner party at your house, who would you invite? (11:45) • Does Pat love dogs as much as Jim? (14:00) • Does any particular Tory inspire Julian or is it a mixture of a lot of them? (14:40) • Did you have any scrapped ghost characters? (16:00) • How do you film the part where the ghosts walk through walls? (19:00) • Will we find out the Captain's name? (20:30) (this was my question :))
I love it when Simon says he would like to play Robin, and the other five say no because he would hate all the makeup. For Julian, the most he needs is a lot of hair gel and hair straighteners...They know each other so well.
Yeah, apparently Martha and Larry (Fanny & Robin) come in at like 5:30 am for makeup and hair, and the Capt and Thomas and I think to an extent Julian just waltz in like 10 mins before filming at 8:45. Lucky! ahaha
I know, right? Kudos to the actress for making herself so hideous in character - it's the hair and the sour expression that totally transforms this attractive lady into that battle-axe!
When i first watched this and ben said Ben: we do get a but of a backstory of a certain ghost. Mat: **smiles** After mat smiled i knew it was him that was gonna get the backstory revealed 🥺😂
I love how Larry's got his Mojo on the shelf behind him from Yonderland!! xx Also thank you so much for answering my question, really made my day!! 11:39 :)
@@Alexander-px5yz umm I don't think it's on any major streaming services but if you have sky TV you can download it from the sky store if it's available
It literally makes me so happy that they're still working together all these years later, the fact that they're all so up for being involved is just the best thing🥳
I started watching Ghosts two weeks ago, and I've already seen both seasons twice through. It is possibly my favourite comedy programme I've ever seen, and I have recommended it to anyone I've spoken to recently! It's just so hilarious and I feel like I'm going to watch it on a consistent repeat for months now. Then I wanted to look into what else the cast/writers have done and started watching Yonderland, and GOOD LORD DO I LOVE IT. I'm rationing myself to two episodes a day so I still have new episodes to look forward to for a touch longer. It's such a joy to escape into that world and the humour is so hilariously stupid, and I'm just so glad it was written and made. It's like a weird hilarious 1960s children's tv magic mushroom fever dream adventure epic tale and its the most beautifully hilarious thing I've ever seen. In the past two weeks since discovering the work of this cast, suddenly my top five comedies (which haven't much changed in the past 5/10 years) is now looking very different to how it was prior. I'm just so grateful to be able to watch the genius shows these people have made! Can't wait for Ghosts season 3!
Man, thanks to BBC Ghosts for introducing me to this talented lot of actors. Having grown up in Germany I’d never seen any Horrible Histories as a child and might have to seriously consider sitting down and watching children’s tv just so I know what I’ve missed out on.
He hasn't been able to give Mat or Larry a cuddle for nearly a year....Simon said that he and his wife and child have had Covid, so he is safe not sure about the others.
Captain would also like Downton Abbey, Brideshead Revisited, Churchill and Queer Eye... Pat would like Match Of The Day, The Bill, The Back To The Future films and Star Wars.. Julian would like Top Gear, Basic Instinct, Die Hard films and anything with beautiful women.
Kitty would love Strictly, Catherine Cookson dramas, Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth, Bridget Jones...Fanny would love Downton Abby, The Antiques Roadshow,Victoria, and Inspector Morse.. As someone that was murdered she would have an interest in crime drama. Mary would like Mary Berry, Countryfile, gentle things.
@@-simzanca-4622 In the last episode, Captain really excelled in helping Alison to decorate the room with good taste, was interested in the clothes. He is becoming more comfortable with that side of himself...
7:31 "Come on Ben, it's 2020" 2020 has been shite, so I don't blame Ben's wifi cutting out lol Them talking about Boris Johnson's Brexit issues but now he is doing lockdown number 2
3:42 Jim proceeds to stare majestically into the distance Also it would be amazing if the ghosts start watching all 12 seasons of the Big Bang Theory 😂
I have a story idea (in case the writers are reading this). Plot synopsis: The plot sees Alison become the conduit of Thomas Thorne and Isabelle's reconnection as the Ghosts are tethered to the spot they died. Pre-credits scene: The Ghosts are still active at 2am. The house is pandemonium. Alison is at her wit's end. In bed, she stares at the ceiling in annoyance while Mike tries to comfort her. She holds out her hand. “Don’t start with me”. Alison grabs her keys and heads off for a hike at the Tocil Wood and Nature Reserve, Coventry to escape the house for a bit. In the cool night air she takes a slow inhale and huffs a big sigh of relief. While walking through the forest she comes across Thomas Thorne's lover (Isabelle) and Thomas’ cousin (Francis) whom Alison recognises from the Season 2 story and photographs around the house. It turns out that the two were killed by a highway robber during one of their country trips. In shock, Alison heads back to her car. (Opening Credits) Upon learning of this news, Thomas decides to try to convince Isabelle of Francis' misdeeds, and the next time Alison heads out for a hike she also passes on Thomas’ poems and pleas of love. But Isabelle doesn't believe him and claims he never loved her, causing the two to bicker at each other in future messages. Alison trades these comments on each of her hiking trips. Now even this 'peaceful' location is a reminder of the craziness of home - Alison feels like she can't escape. (Insert joke about the Ghosts sending her to Coventry but not each other. Yes, I chose Tocil Wood and Nature Reserve as the location just to set up this one joke, I’m a bit bonkers like that). Francis uses Alison's exasperation to gaslight her about what 'really happened', further manipulating Thomas and Isabelle. But Isabelle eventually discovers the truth and the pair make peace. And so Isabelle tries to escape Francis, but she realises she can't. Meanwhile Thomas tries to leave the grounds to see her but discovers he can't either. They are tethered to the spot where they died. They mourn this loss. The reserve is due to be closed indefinitely. (On one of her exhausted trips, Alison hits an endangered animal and the council decides it should be closed to the public). On her last trip, Alison sets up a baby monitor so the two Ghosts can communicate. Isabelle can't directly communicate with Thomas, but she can hear Thomas' messages, which Alison relays through the monitor. (My understanding is that Ghosts can’t be heard through electronic devices, even by other Ghosts, as there are no sound waves for the device to transmit). Isabelle waits patiently by the baby monitor for each new poem to arrive. Here's the final scene: Alison's Bedroom (Human version): Alison rolls over onto her side and grabs the baby monitor, pulling it close to her lips. "I love you", she whispers. Alison's Bedroom (Ghost version): We see Thomas sitting with his back against the wall, smiling to himself, and from the bed Alison musters a smile before passing out from an exhausted few weeks. Alison's Bedroom (Human version): Mike, half-asleep, furrows his brow and stretches. "...love you too", he croaks The baby monitor slips out of Alison's hand and hits the floor. "...oh, you didn't mean me...!" Tocil Wood and Nature Reserve (Ghost version): Isabelle sits with her back against a tree, cry-smiling as she hears Alison's words come over the baby monitor. Francis mournfully looks on from afar, knowing that he will never truly have her heart, and he walks away. Alison's Bedroom (Ghost version): Mike, Alison, and Thomas are asleep, and the house is finally at peace. (Roll credits)
OMG wow! That's such a creative idea & I love it & such awesome writing! My brain sort of wants to reunite Thomas & Isabel, but I can't imagine any "happy ever after" story working in the show, but this is like, only half a "happy ever after" so it might work... :D You should definitely become a writer!... Or at least put this up as fanfic, if you haven't already!
If you can see this please read it You as a group of actors have hugely influenced me as a person ( and made lockdown better) As a child I watched every episode of horrible history’s and now I’m binge watching Ghost Thank you so much
This was epic! thank you so much for doing it and answering our questions! please do more of these, its so great to be able to hear the details behind the creative process and to see how well you all get along!
How have I only just discovered Ghosts!!!!!! I’ve missed out all this time but making up for it now. Absolutely brilliant WELL DONE! I have so much to catch up on from all these q&a’s and anything else I can get my hands on!
Absolutely the best thing on TV for the longest time, I love Robin, I think that he could be the smartest one of all . I love the way he likes watching documentaries. The whole show is hilarious and I look forward to seeing future episodes. X🤣👻❤️
I discovered this sitcom on a BA flight from LHR to LAX. They had the first two episodes. After watching them I was hooked. Unfortunately, living in the US it's hard to find the series. I stumbled on a bad copy of the 6 episodes and watched them back to back. I'm looking forward to season 2. I should be in England in October (2020) and I look forward to watching them there. Can't wait!
@@silentsmurf Not S4 sadly, A lot of US Ghosts fans are not happy about that (but S4 is on DailyMotion). They have their own US adaptation on CBS/Paramount + which the 6 idiots are exec producers on. Brilliant when it goes its own ways and doesn't do the same plotlines as the UK one.
This was so brilliant! I love these guys :) & I was actually wondering what other ghost they'd like to play! And YES PLEASE to including the others! They're all great, but I really love Katy Wix, & Mary's my fave character :)
