This one BC in intro was the smartest one - retreated just in time to not being plagued, hitted by scourges and fought hydras in dark swarm, who cares about covering this colony with marines any way)))

I would not go that far. BCs force zerg into wasting a ton of gas on scourge..and with a few decent moves like d matrix on the frontline BC you can cause zerg to waste a ton of gas. Top notch zerg players do the swarm/hydra/plague move though which is awesome vs BC. Queen really showed how to fight BCs but still got overwhelmed...because in this game it wasn't 2 BCs at a time, it was 4. JYJ was not doing the stupid move so many top terrans seem obsessed with sending 2 BCs to a zerg base.

@@Ziegfried82 Yes I would say maybe 4 bc's in a group is the max. If you clump any more together it take a single plague to do ~3000 points of damage to your army. But doing stuff to try to keep them alive takes extra apm. It takes away from players' macro play. Spreading them out, moving them away from spores, casting dmatrix, restoration (for plague), it all takes a lot of attention and apm. Repair with Terran in mid to late game is also apm intensive, this isn't SC2 where you can run a few SCV's underneath the ships with auto repair right clicked, in SC1 you gotta click each one you want to repair and it's a nightmare to do when they're all clumped and you are in the midst of multiple battles on the map. At the end of the day are you going to pay attention to repairs/micro on a few bc's or are you going to push your main army to attack and defend? Top ladder matches you almost always see the latter, and anybody caught micro'ing a handful of units trying to keep them alive mid-late game usually loses. Macro almost always beats micro. All that means bc's get picked off fairly easily and are cost inefficient in SC1. It is hard to get the value out of them like in SC2, and 9 times out of 10 those 400 minerals, 300 gas, and 6 supply are better used on a bunch of rines/medic or some ground mech. Otherwise you're sending 1600 minerals, 1200 gas, 24 supply (4 bcs) down to some expansion that cost zerg 300 minerals, and you are guaranteed to get plagued and or scourged.

Nope, flying units cannot.

The BC curse is only when terran players stupidly send 2 BCs to a random zerg base as a scourge sponge. Once you actually support the BCs in some way, or send more than 2 at a time it seems to go a lot better.

LOL! He sent a group of 4 BCs instead of 2 which is huge. He wasn't sending the typical 2 at a time which really put a ton of pressure on the zerg...even with superior hydra/swarm/plague technique queen still lost this game.
