Where is the Acting?😂 they look cute for a mall’s seasonality magazine. If that’s the acting you are taking about. This is the exact problem of today’s opera. Mediocre singer with better than average looks are promoted to be “ stars” by greedy agent and impresarios.

Hay puestas en escena que no concuerdan con la época pero esta la veo acorde con lo propuesto por Puccini. Por otro lado, la soprano Asmik Gregorian es MAGNÍFICA. Olvídate por un momento de la Callas. El tenor tiene un buen timbre. En todo caso mediocres NO SON.
@@alvarogarciabarbosa3199 Have you ever heard asmik in Theatre？ Or you just watch her videos on youtube? she has a voice very small, maximally a lyric soprano. I heard her singing salome, yesterday here in Paris. disastrous. 1/3 of her singing is overwhelmed by the orchestra like she is doing a pantomime. the rest of the 2/3 notes are barely audible and her high register has very little tone and color. I get it. she is a good looking woman. so what? there are a bunch of good looking women which I don’t need to buy a ticket to look at. and she is definitely NOT movie actress level of good looking. let’s be honest. most annoying : she was looking at her ipad during the whole concert and kept wearing a sunglasses in the philharmonie music hall , through the whole concert, to avoid any eye contact with the audience ( or maybe just to show how COOL she is, like a Rock Star maybe). so unprofessional and disrespectful. you compare this kind of mediocre, self- congratulatory woman to La Callas? come on! I will avoid any opera with this woman in the cast.
Judging a voice on YT is risky business. but Grigorian comes across as a lyric soprano, lacking the heft necessary for Geogetta. I know that Scotto sang it near the end of her career and a variety of spinto roles that were, doubtless, unwise. Even so she brought a lot to the party. style--Italian style a vanishing virtue--experience and acting ability. In every DVD that I have seen with her there has always been something that could compensate for any liability. I have no idea how old Grigorian is but she is not able to summon up the intensity required for this role and as a lyric I would hope for her that she rethinks her choice of roles. Not likely since she just sang Salome in Salzburg. Obviously a lyric voice was what Strauss had in mind as Salome is a teenage and even scored a reduced orchestration although I don't know whether or not that is what was used.
davy91101 Touché. To say nothing of Aracam, who shredded his voice on this ridiculously difficult tenor role. The first edition published score says SHE’S 25 and HE’S 20, but we’ve learned over the past century that young voices should probably avoid singing Giorgetta and Luigi. They should stick to Mimi and Rodolfo for 5-10 years. Alas, over the last 5-10 years, open season has been declared on every role in all of Operadom.
She’s got too small voice for for all Puccini roles except for Lauretta and maybe Mimi... Voice is now not bigger only more worn and rough due to singing spinto roles like this.
