WOTLK cinematic lost realism that was in the original one actually by this guy who put detail everywhere where it shouldn't be in my opinion. Looks almost same but now it's closer to more cartoony look
I was shaking my head as the streamer and his viewers pretended that the 4K/8K upsample looked amazing... as they viewed it windowed and couldn't even see the extra pixels at full resolution. 😞
@@MeldinX2 _"it's an upsample and not even true 8k."_ I've dealt with this type of concern before: that interpolated video isn't "true" [whatever it's generating extra information to achieve.] I've posted 60 FPS frame rate conversions of all World of Warcraft cinematics on one of my other RU-vid channels. Some might say they are not "true" 60 FPS, just as the 8K AI upsamples aren't "true" 8K. I understand what people mean when they say this: that it's not a pristine capture at the target frame rate/resolution. But the objective fact is that videos with interpolated frame rate conversion/upsampling _are_ true 60 FPS or 8K resolution, by the simple reality that the video consists of 60 unique frames per second, or 33 million unique pixels in an 8K AI upsample. The algorithms used to generate the new information are always going to be flawed and inaccurate, so there will be artifacts that wouldn't be there had the original source material actually been captured at that high frame rate or resolution. I downloaded the 8K version of the WotLK video and played it locally on my 4K display. It's very impressive how much detail the AI algorithm was able to interpolate, but it looks very weird, oversharp, and there are massive crawling artifacts in some shots. I wonder if it would have looked better if they'd upsampled to just 4K resolution, instead. Hopefully this technology continues to improve, because it could be very useful.
@@Eincrou Maybe i misspoke when i said ''not true 8k'' But the matter of fact is that it's still an upscaled resolution. I do have a 4k monitor and it does still look impressive don't get me wrong. So i'm not complaining about the quality. But most people just have a 1080p monitor trying to upscale that to 8k wont look as good as having a monitor with the physical pixels required to display ''true'' 8K. This said unless you have a very big monitor to begin with alot of quality get lost regardless if you want 8K. If you compare it to 4K.
This expansion trailer is the best Blizzard has ever made and Arthas makes Bolvar look like sh it click the 👍 the button if you would want to re play the Wrath of the Lich King expansion
