I am so disgusted by this guy using Syria and his father's health as an excuse why he couldn't download PTR. He waited until the last moment in grand finals and had the tournament organizers live on the air try to help him do something he should have been able to do on his own. Then they delay for a day and hold the tournament at the time that is best for him. During the day delay the tournament organizer walks him through step by step like a child how to download PTR. He is so much of a child that he didn't even look up the customer support number on his own. Imagine if this was some kind of racing Grand Prix tournament. On the day of the race a guy shows up with no fuel in his car. The tournament delays for a day for him to get fuel in his car. The tournament organizers find fuel for him and put it in a fuel drum for him. All he has to do is take the fuel and put it in his car. Somehow the person still can't get the fuel in his car. So the call the tournament and the winner is gracious enough to split the winnings. So what does this fucker do? Calls everyone racist and uses his fathers health as an excuse. I would slap the shit out of him if I was in his family.
Listening to this guy try to explain the situation is like listening to a 6 year old holding a crayon try to explain how he wasn’t the one who wrote on the wall.
I love how Cervantes' whole point is that he didn't like them making him out as a bad person in their video, but then immediately proceeded to do a way better job of it on his own than they ever could.

After listening to this the following things become clear: 1. Savix is lying about what was agreed upon prior to the final day. 2. Savix uses his platform(tweeting the other guys was "nice enough" to do the 50/50) to make it look like Cervantes look bad even when it was agreed upon in private and Cervantes was OFFERED this deal by Savix. 3. Savix changed his mind in private and developed a distaste of Cervantes because he couldn't get NA server access from EU. (very common problem, Savix also has Blizzard connections) 4. Savix slipped in Dq'ing rules AFTER Cervantes accepted the offer in private. 5. Savix got his little fuck boy to come into the discord on Asmongolds stream because he was losing the arguement and steamrolled someone who cant even speak english. 6. Stoopzz said Cervantes shouldn't even get anything even though Cervantes would get second place money in the worst case according to there rules or lack of. (this demonstrates a bias by Stoopzz and Savix. 7. Stoopzz knows someone from out of the country does not know the PC rules common in america and tricks Cervantes to go into a grey area to make him look racist on stream. 8. Savix denies and backpeddles about misleading an audience to think Cervantes deleted tweets. 9. Stoopzz forces an end to the stream when they look better and Cervantes never got to complete his thought he was trying to explain for 30 minutes and is true btw(I looked into it, its #10 below) 10. Savix cuts two different pieces of footage of Cervantes saying he did and didnt practice in reverse order to make him look like he was lying. (example: day2 - I just walked my dog ---> *jump cut* ---> day1 - I didnt walk my dog today) 11. Stoopzz grills Cervantes about practicing for the tournament.
I can see faults on both sides but Cervantes cast the first stone and was a dick all the way through about it savix was trying something new and didn’t want it to fail witch is understandable, I have no respect for someone who gets the money who imo shouldn’t have gotten anything would be acting like that and then trying to do the whole poor me shit Savix is in the right he may have gotten upset but most would and based on how Cervantes acted he would have handled it even worse.
AmericanEE You're really going out of your way to defend this guy. Either you're Cervantes himself on some random account or you're some middle eastern who sees yourself in him or something, I don't know. For me it's pretty clear he was the one that started this whole mess; in fact listening to him talk is like listening to a socially challenged idiot stammering his way through lies. I do think Savix went pretty hard on him in the video, but to be honest I don't blame him, Cervantes said some retarded shit toward Savix that was pretty personal. Not to mention lies upon lies which even he admitted. Did he really not expect a response? All in all the majority (if not all except for very few people) of the community saw this guy for who he is really is - to put it nicely - a sociopath and a terrible liar. Impulsive liars tend to be people with inferiority complex, which in his case being an immigrant in the Netherlands, I do see it. Hopefully he can grow from this, start taking responsibility for his actions, and maybe get better socially.

He is not a lair, everything he said is true, its just that he doesnt know english. Try to understand what he is trying to say. I got both side of the story. And the conclusion i got was that savix didnt understand what cerv was saying when he brought up that racist stuff and he felt threaten when cerv said he had evidence and was gona make a video about it, so to protect his name, savix got ahead of the situation and made cerv look like the bad guy when in reality they were BOTH WRONG.

I get why Cervantes acted the way he did, and I don't think he's an evil human being, but his ego has him acting like a god damn fool. The biggest problem Cervantes had was that he was called second place, he believes that because they offered to split the money then he should be considered tied for first but that's not the way it works. Even if he split the money right after the tournament, which I think he tried to argue a lot during this video, he still would have been second place because he was the reason they couldn't fight. Cervantes' ego won't allow him to just admit he messed up and take second place, and that is why has raging and complaining about how Savix was being a snake. Savix had every right to DQ him and no matter what part of the tournament you look at, he never would be considered first or tied for first. It wasn't like Venruki couldn't play the first day and then Cervantes couldn't play and then they DQ'd him. Venruki was professional throughout the whole tournament and absolutely deserved to be sole first place contestant.
@@snwballs1220 You are right but Savix should have just DQ'ed as soon as Cerv said he didnt have PTR. He also should have check the players if they have PTR(The Semi finals players on EU). It is his responsibility as an organiser to make sure that players have the PTR. Thats why i say he is also wrong, cause all of this could have been avoided. I just feel like these guys didnt understand each other due to the Language Barrier.

I'm halfway through the video and I'm finding increasingly hard to take this guy's side. He's not being coherent, he's not being direct, he's avoiding every single question, he's making a multitude of excuses, he's playing the victim, he's attacking other people, and he's making accusations about other people's character. Honestly, I find it VERY difficult to respect someone who acts this way and who clearly seems to be unwilling to make any sort of compromise about his own shortcomings.
I have more important things to do buuuuut I think this is what went down: Cerva dude didn't get his PTR ready by the final so they talked about splitting 50/50 and everyone seems to be in agreement. However Cerva also said he would do everything he can to play out the finals, which ultimately results in the organizer pushing the finals to the next day and told Cerva if he didn't get the PTR working, he would be DQ'ed(Cerva agreed.) So at this point I think there is this discrepancy between what both sides is expecting to happen and is the cause of this whole thing. -For Cerva, he thinks that the 50/50 will happen regardless if he can get the PTR working or not. -For Savix, he thinks the 50/50 talk is on hold because the finals is still happening albeit delayed, and it only makes sense to see how the following day would go before deciding on the payout. So the next day arrives, Cerva couldn't get the PTR working so Savix went and announce that Ven is the winner. At this moment Cerva believes this meant that he is not getting the 50/50 he thought was agreed upon. So out of fear or anger Cerva sent that message threatening Savix about exposing them and what not if he didn't get his 50/50. Savix perhaps didn't want this to become a bigger problem than it already is, decided to do the 50/50, since that is what Ven wanted to do anyways. However Cerva took Savix's response to the threat as justification for his paranoia that Savix was planning to cheat him out of the 50/50 all along and was out to get him. Then stuff happened which brings us here on this fine day. I think another psychological factor at work here is the NA vs EU obsession. This point was only brought up here and there but it really came out near the end of the video. I think Cerva took the rivalry way too seriously, add that on top of his obviously massive ego, warped his world view into a him vs Ven, Savix and friends situations on a irl level. Footnote: In the video, Cerva had an argument where Savix and friends tried to make him look bad by tweeting how "Ven is the bigger man and is super nice, decided to split 50/50 blah blah blah". So I went and dug up Savix's tweet from that time and the actual tweet was a shout out to Ven for giving Cerva another day to get the PTR working despite it was clearly stated in the rules to have PTR ready to go. I don't know why I watched the entire video and typed out this entire thing and there is also a chance I'm completely wrong or nobody cares rip, but ummmm yeah the dude is just lying and dodging from the start to finish. You know it's going to be good when they start with the sob backstory.
Agreed, although i dont think his dad and GF thing is true, its just like when a kid did something wrong, trying to say anything possible to play the victim person, to let other party feels bad and others to feel sorry for him so that he can get a win in an argument, you can feel it as soon as he said it, from the shakes of his voice, anyway its my person thoughts. Those 4 'Sponsors' in the background, if they actually DID Sponsor this event, they could remove their support from for any future Turnaments like this, People can stop watching or taking part in them cause of what he said. In Cervantes', he's a machine learning algorithm in its first stages - he's prodding every possible angle he can to see which one works best, but, unlike learning algorithms, he's not going to learn anything from it.

TLDR; So to me the essence of the drama seems to be that Cervantes was handed 2nd place after they agreed to a 50-50 split. Cervantes feels it's unfair and it should either have been a DQ or a shared first place. He dislikes the way they paint him by making it seem like he's the one who insisted on 50-50 split, when in actuallity it was brought up by the organisers and agreed to by both finalists. Cervantes was confident he would win the final if it played out, but had troubles with PTR (like many others). Cervantes lets out the frustration by insulting, threatening and speaking negatively of Savix and the organisation who has done nothing but help him. And from there it escalates into a 10/10 popcorn-worthy-drama.
Literally the only sensible comment here. Cervantes seems to have actually been given the run around (albeit he was unprepared for any of this), and he vents by acting like a child. But anyone who thinks Savix came out of this angelic is objectively a moron

Cervantes is from Syria, but I'm pretty sure he mentioned living in Denmark or something which is EU. But all in all Cervantes obviously did himself in for anyone who paid close attention to what was actually being said.
What I got from this video is that Cervantes went to the Blizzard website and joined a queue to be called by support to get fix client fixed. You can't sit back and wait for the problem to solve itself especially when you have a limited time until they close the lines for the day. You need to be proactive and take initiative by actually dialing the number and calling customer support. That's the main reason in my opinion that he didn't deserve the 50/50 whatsoever.
Simple: did he contact blizzard? if so there must be a record of a ticket. so if he cant to that he didnt even contact blizzard to fix the ptr thing and so its his fault alone for not even trying to get it fixed.

I just came into this from the more recent video by savix about shadowlands, and am experiencing this for the first time. What a ride. I see a lot of people commending Asmon for being a moderator and doing a great job. And while it is good he is attempting to keep order, he is not doing a very good job at moderating here. I don't expect him to, he's a WoW streamer, not a moderator or adjudicator. People get paid to do this sort of thing. The past 20 or more minutes has been them stuck talking in circles, and Asmon is just kind of letting it happen. The main point in contention from Cervantes is that he was offered a 50/50 split by the organizers (Savix) and Savix is saying that that was idea brought up originally by chat that was just mentioned but never agreed on. Asmon has gotten stuck trying to find evidence of it being brought up by chat and saying "I'm not seeing a lot of people bring this up." This is completely missing the point. Whether this was brought up by 1 person once over the course of the 40 minutes of post tournament discussion or was being parroted by 95% of chat for the entire thing doesn't matter. It doesn't even matter if chat brought it up at all. What matters is that the idea of a 50/50 split was brought up, and was put forth as an idea. Neither of the two are arguing this point. They both admit it was brought up, so it's time to move on to the next part: whether this was an actual offer by them to split or not. From all indications of how both people are describing the discussion, this was a crisis management brainstorm session. All hands were on deck trying to figure out what they could do to fix the issues or create a conclusion of some sort to end the night and let everyone go home. When a brainstorming session is happening, ideas are thrown out everywhere, its not about the quality of the idea but rather that ideas keep happening until one sticks. And at the end of the night, the conclusion that all parties agreed to was to delay the finals until the next day, giving Cervantes time to download PTR and create his character. With the direct stipulation that if he was not able to do this, he would be DQ'd. THAT is the offer. THAT is what was accepted. Everything before that final plan that wound up sticking does not matter and is pointless to mention. Unless you are trying to deflect.

Watched this live, I totally like the part where Stoopzz comes in and just pops off and straight up tells it like it is. I just don't get how Cervantes's mind works..he just could NOT get it that Savix made his video in retaliation to all the BM tweets/comments/chats Cervantes wrote...it's like he somehow made himself believe that the video got released first and THEN he (Cervantes) started all the BM. I think it would have been good to set the rules for the discussion so everyone is on the same page as to what everyone is trying to achieve as an output of the conversation. Then let each person state their side, discuss the misunderstandings and concerns for each involved party from their perspective and reiterate them at the end. From here, list out what fell apart and agree to apologize and move on. Another step would be to have each person state their side and then the opposing side reiterates and summarizes what they said and what their concerns are to attempt to ensure understanding and critical thought. This would make a great series and could help to save a lot of gaming communities and help others learn conflict resolution.

Bet Cervantes has hacks on his client, and a tourney using a ptr would expose him so he went full panic mode. Everything for him worked fine up until he needed to switch to a ptr
Basically, Savix's biggest mistake was trying to be nice to Cervantes when he wasn't ready for the finals. If he had just shut it down then, it would have been done. Takeaway: Do not be nice to people, they will likely try to fuck you and it also often leads to you acting like a tool yourself.
Clearly the 50/50 discussion occurred on the original tournament day, and if they couldn’t play and ended the tournament on Saturday that would have been the outcome. But Cervantes said he wanted to play and therefore they pushed the match to the next day and scheduled it at a time that would be convenient for him. So the final decision was that is he did not fix his situation by the match time, he would be disqualified. Cervantes did not understand that the original discussion for 50/50 was taken off the table and therefore the entire distasteful followup is largely due to miscommunication and misunderstanding. Oh well.
He was clearly misunderstanding the split: The split was meant for splitting the money, not splitting the first place. Idk how this is still not going in his head. 1. You can't communicate with people in Syria because Syria is a warzone, there is no fucking way 2. Using fake personal sad information is a tactic used by a lot of people to make their life easier in a lot of situations 3. The only defence he had was for the deleted tweets, he took that mistake from savixs part and used it the whole 2 hours without something else to bring in the table. I remember, a friend of mine said that you can restore tweets in the past, I don't know if that's true. Seeing that brain makes me wondering, with that kind of education, of course Syrian is a warzone. Its a little distasteful comment but ive never seen someone so bad at defending himself.
Just now finding out about this and man, as a Online Tournament Organizer myself for other games in the FGC this has me livid. Firstly, he did not follow the rules. If the rules state that you had to have PTR Downloaded and their was ample enough time for you to do so and test it, you messed up that's on you. Secondly, anything in your personal life is not the TOs problem. If you were going to compete and had the intention to do so, you should have been ready and had everything setup as instructed. Not only did they waste time on him in stream, they went so much further than they had to in order to accommodate him when they should not have. The moment he stated he did not have PTR downloaded he should have been DQ'd. I'm assuming that only first place got paid as well considering how much the 50/50 split came up. Nah, he's not entitled to any of that money and it should go to his opponent that was prepared and ready. With all of this salt and stink Cervantes tried to pull he also would have been completely banned from entering any other tournaments that are hosted by the TO. The organizers were so much nicer than they should have been and ultimately they paid the price for it. Cervantes wasn't ready he should have been DQ'd on the spot and none of this other drama would have happened. If he tried to raise a stink about it even still, re-iterate the rules that he didn't follow and leave it at that.
funny thing is that cervantes JUST put up a highlight video (Jan 31, 5 days after this highlight) on youtube of his wins from that "tournay" to stroke his ego even further
The only thing i took from this was Savix, Asmon, and Savix's friend have a complete lack of debate skills. This other guy lied, dodged, made excuses, and interrupted his through every criticism. So annoying to watch happen. Learn to make a fucking case and argue it, god damn.
