he just went in with the wrong mindset. If you are planning on playing a game with such a strong narrative, you have to make the small sacrifice of reading journals, quest logs, hear conversations... If not, you are gonna miss too much. TW3 is a game that asks you to do that, and then the game pays off spectacularly. But man, you have to do your part.
Pretty much, W3 can be really have on the attention-span. And that`s a good thing, but that turned loads of player away from it, matter fact, some actually played it through without paying attention, just hack and slashing his way through.
Not all people are into reading all possible shit which is irrelevant for the most part. Good thing about the witcher games is that you are not supposed to read anything in this game, while all the journals, notes, glossary and other crap are for fans who want to know more than the game can show them or for nerds who play the game even without hud for the sake of immersion. By not reading anything, you miss nothing, while all the necessary information to understand story, player gets from quest dialogues.
@@whennever8202 People who say that games like TW3 put them away because it required actually playing attention instead of just hand-held button mashing are pathetic, simple-minded fools.
Geralt: "now lets talk about the price" Odolan: "is something wrong with my price?....30 should be enough for the payment or did you want more..." Geralt: "thats not enough.... give me 25." Odolan: "...." Odolan: "but witcher sir... I was going to give you 30.... you want a lower....?"(gets cut off) Geralt: "20... my final offer....." Odolan: ".... deal...................."
WoW really tricks people into thinking they're good at games because they overgear content and power through it with a bunch of people equally overgeared They can get all of the aotc they want, the single player content that doesn't rely so hard on overgearing really shows their actual skill level, watching asmongold do mage towers on anything but his warrior was painful
but thats not the 'problem' with asmon the rage he conjures out of his chat keeps people watching and screaming and subbing, hes not incompetent hes a master manipulator
@@kronniichiwa9909 holy shit a naruto avatar in 2019 thats amazing Why are you so offended? Did you watch the stream? 'stop watching if you don't like him behaving like a child instead of a near 30 year old man'
Gotta read the Bestiary! It tells you exactly what to do against certain monsters. Also Geralt himself is vocally telling him how to prepare; yet he ignored it all. Asmon just needs to take a few mins, relax, and go through those bits. Once he does he'll understand it all.
No shit, you explained every fucking skill ever, when you figure it out and get better at it, it gets easier. Holy shit Sherlock, rain some more revelations unto me.
Every damn time a big streamer asks for recommendations and people *rightly* suggest TW3, because it's one of the best RPGs ever made, the streamer thinks it'll instantly pay off and give you what you want. Summit, Shroud and now Asmon. It isn't a streaming game for these kinds of streamers.
xqc too lol but he did play quite a lot of it and enjoyed it but suddenly stopped so who knows. These streamers spend so many hours streaming i dont rly expect any of them to finish huge storyline open world games like Witcher 3, RDR2, BOTW etc bcuz it takes too long. These are the games you want to put focus on and go through slowly and in a detailed manner understanding everything but for streamers its a job to give various content so they cant rly play the same game for like 2 weeks. Tho who knows maybe some of these streamers played it off-camera.
We do have to admit that this game is not really ideal for streaming. One of the best things about this game is the immersion. When you are in a situation where you have to constantly check the stream, chat and on top of that you have to try to be entertaining, it's almost impossble to keep being immersed for over 100 hours.
@@MrArgy333 it's mega cringe too with beloved games like this because people spam tips and tricks in donos, overwhelm them and make them hate being talked at and then the chat is there spamming OMEGALUL when they do something wrong. I get it Streamers need to either be pretty small or just turn everything down and go into gameplay mode.
I finished everything in this game. and I mean EVERYTHING (except 10 or 15 useless underwater loot that were very repetitive and not important but other than that EVERYTHING.) The thing is, when I was playing this game I loved it so much. I played this this on the hardest difficulty (first playthrough) I literally did every side quest in the game and read every document ote that came in my path just to learn more about the world and characters because I was really interested in this detailed world. I even finished the two big expansions (which in my opinion had a better story than the base game it self). All that with some messing around and stuff took me: 177 hours. Yes it is a long game. You might think that I don't have a life, but the thing is I played this game over months. After finishing the game it literally became my favorite game of all time. I consider this game to be a 10/10 (Masterpiece). You might disagree, but that's my own personal opinion. Wanted to ask. Do you play single-player video games? If so what are your favorite games? Or atleast ones that stand out to you? Thanks for reading my long commnet >\\\< ~!!
@@FireStarJutsu Assassin's Creed series are some of the best. Some of the Far Cry games, Mass Effect 1-3, Skyrim, Deus Ex, GTA. Actually, there aren't that many actually good AAA single player games on PC. Most of the good ones are produced by indie studios and they have some niche gameplay that doesn't suit that many people.
@@helgenlaneRight now, I'm playing DOOM, then DOOM Eternal after it. After that I'm gonna re-play Dishonored 1&2 (I really like Dishonored and I just really wanted to play them again.) then I'm gonna play either Deus Ex (Human Revolution & Mankind Devided) or the Metro series. After that I'm going to play Dark Souls 1-3 then Sekiro. That's my queue for now. Thanks for reading my useless comment 😅, but do you have any plans for games that you want to play?
@@FireStarJutsu oh, right, forgot all the other Bethesda games. I need to finish Dishonored 2, then I have The Evil Within, Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, Alan Wake, RDR2, Disco Elysium, F.E.A.R., Dead Space, all of the Dark Souls... But I don't have the time because I started playing some MMO and we all know how that goes :D Also, one of the best games I've played lately was Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. I think it has the best sound design and soundtrack ever.
I think its more like he never played anything that he couldn't just rush in and kill it without worrying about finer details, and that is clearly shown when fights the Wraith at the end, the Wraith even changes color, but he just doesn't notice it and just can't do it. I honestly think that Witcher is gonna be harder for him than Dark Souls
Guess we have very different play styles. Strong attacks are far better especially with upgrades, often with good gear you can 1 shot enemies with a critical hit. Also only read the bestiary when stuck on something the story doesn't already give you queues for, or you just want to read some awesome lore.
@@Metaljacket420 I did a glass cannon build with light attacks, if you use the cat armor with the weapons, get the 10% red mutagen for every slot, go full light attack with bleed and bonuses to stamina regeneration, and make sure to dodge well. Doing this allows a really good player to quickly kill/poke an enemy easily, and the bleed also helps. Also, who doesn't like that whirlwind animation Geralt does when you hold the light attack button? You can also get an enchantment that increases the range of your light attacks, but you get that through a DLC.
@@DragonSlayerCommentariesHQ Nice, my strongest was a high critical hit+crit damage bonus build with heavy armor and fast adrenaline point gain. Was tanky AF could and 1-2 hit most normal enemies. Also there's a skill that gives you back full HP when you 'die', long as you have at least one adrenaline point, making Geralt almost invincible.
And he's the most watched WoW twitch streamer. I just don't understand it. He has no personality, he's not likable, he sucks at anything other than WoW. What do people see in him? I watched a reaction video from him, he keeps talking during the video, missing 50% of the stuff that's going on. So dumb.
he mentioned he felt super tired and had no energy for reading, so it's not like he simply didn't understand that he should .. he had a headache for like 2 hours
It was decent, I've seen people die a lot with the ghouls on this difficulty. I hope he will play more, I can see how it can be overwhelming, he just needs time and take it slow, no need to hurry.
I started off on Death march. Asmongold is just being lazy when it comes to learning game mechanics, only choosing to learn them during his 'bathroom breaks'.
Don't feel bad about not getting it right away. It's a lot to take in and takes reading and practice to understand the game mechanics. I got really frustrated early on, but eventually got it. There are just so many ways to do things, and then you have a bunch of people telling you what to do, that would be even more overwhelming. Plus playing on higher difficulty, you were screwed from the start. Of course this is a couple years too late, but what the hell. Enjoyed watching.

That part of "master dandelion sounds likd a bad ass" made me laugh so hard 😂
I just got the game recently and noticed that if you re not gonna read every bit of info or listen to dialogue (who has time) read the beastiary when something is not working and 99% of the time you're good to go. Was frustrated too first time playing esp since I was on death March difficulty but the game is much better when you get the hang of it
@SoundwaveSinus9 Yea I found those ghouls at the start to be one of the hardest fights in the game, and still later on in the game they're one of the harder monsters to avoid taking damage from especially when there's 4.
49:24 is where his fate was probably sealed. It would be a more appropriate learning curve for him to increase the difficulty after he gets a grip of the base movement, it's always changeable and especially since he's gotten used to the dodging mechanics in dark souls. In general it seemed like it was too much information to keep and apply. About the world and its characters, new controls and movement, enemy behaviour, all menus and their specifics, "reading" quest logs and descriptions, "reading" the "help" from bipolar pepega chat, while also trying to be entertaining and all that in a 3 hour window. Obviously some aspects are going to suffer, so to compensate the information load, thats in the beginning of the game, it's important to take your time, but at this point struggle is inevitable, no matter the game.
Totally agree. But just don't play at the stream then if you wanna enjoy. It's not that hard to understand that before. The pressure and toxic bullying from the chat was unbearable.
The thing is he is a streamer. So he must put up a show. I bet if he plays it alone or with his girlfriend they would do every sidequest and every treasurehunt. When he arrives in Skellige the Devs put up alot of work for Novigrad and especially Skellige because it is so big with 100+ Treasurehunts. This game wants you to chill the fuck out, read, make money, make better weapons, horserace or just going through the wildness. TW3 is one by far the best games since boaaah since games exist. This game takes you out of your world puts you up into Geralt and every decision will make a difference later. Love that game :)
I couldn't get into Witcher 3 but I did play for a couple hours, I'd never played a Witcher game before so that probably affected my experience, tried the 2nd hardest difficultly because i want to get better at games, I was not ready lol. I think if I had just played on normal since it was my first time, I'd have enjoyed it more and kept playing
I also couldnt get into it, but thats because my pc cant run it :) It looks amazing, the story seems to be a good one, i like this old times with swords and stuff. Maybe you should be more persistent, every beginning is hard, but that will only make u feel good once u get the hang of it
It literally tells you how to do everything in the tutorials and after its over, its like he never even read it. Its like he has no clue how do anything right after it told him how to do it lol. He even says at the end that he would read something and not even know what it said.
It's funny how everyone was giving him a hard time about not knowing how to play while also spamming the wrong information while he was playing and getting mad when he didn't read chat while in active combat.
Hahahah aha i knew he would have trouble with those ghouls.. Honestly it's one of the hardest fights in the game if you start on deathmarch with no knowledge of the game!
I really wish he would just play the game and stop asking chat each time an option to click a dialogue comes up. Like god damn. Thank god there wasn't too much interaction and storytelling in Dark Souls or he'd still be on Dark souls 1 right now.
29:50 did he just call little Ciri as an idiot just because she's whining for training with the dummy? i wonder if he would call his daughter an idiot too in real life if he had one. what a trash.
like asmon literally almost after every dialog option looks in the chat for an advice what better to pick, like dude wtf it's you are one who plays not the chat
listening to chat waaaay too much, I kinda think witcher 3 is a game that you need to look more on the game than on the chat, figuring everything out for yourself makes the game funnier and also just start reading pls.. it's so sad when people like shroud and asmongold make this game look clunky
Damn Twitch chat was like the Wild West back then... It's honestly hard to enjoy the video when idiots spam TriHard every time an npc mentions "The Black Ones" or when Asmon steals items.
I know this stream is four years old but thank god Asmon's content is not as obnoxious as these vids these days. Wouldn't have joined this community otherwise.
Dude played the game for the first time ever without any knowledge of the previous games, just play on easy because you don't even know what signs oils and potions are, not to mention using them.
