Yeah, that's a malignant narcissist for you. He thinks his opinion is t the correct one, and therefore can't learn. When faced with situations in which he's forced to adapt he whines like a pathetic baby.
9:35 jump is a known shortcut. It is used to get back to Northern Undead Asylum before activating the elevator. Many people answered "yes" when he said "can I make this jump?". So that makes up for the people saying "new exploit" and "new speedrun skip" I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I see why you say that, a good idea in concept, but I hard disagree heres why: Its actually a very fair boss when you look at everything about it, for example yes he kills you in one shot or knocks you off thus one shot, but since you also instantly kill the boss as well its very fair and more to the point it is the only boss that saves your progress mid-fight when you do die. Also if you are still having issues on multiple runs back just a use a greatshield to block the arms its not 100% because of physics but it does greatly reduce the knockback from the arms.
@MrGamerdude1 amazing that you can leave such a useless, pathetic reply and still get likes 😂 did you miss the point deliberately or are you just mentally handicapped?
@@MrGamerdude1I'm sorry did he complain about dark souls fans watching the stream or did he complain about elitist losers gatekeeping? Funny how a fatherless dropout like yourself can't make the distinction. Guess we know what you are 😂
I’m going to be honest, the only thing annoying in this whole play through were the morons in chat. The moment he did something right that was blatantly obvious, they accuse him of googling it. I feel the chat pretty much ruined his entire blind play through by back seat gaming, and spouting every secret in the game. The only things they should have helped him with were the bonfires and NPC interactions. And the person saying he didn’t know, lol, of course he didn’t know, this was a blind play through. He should have just done this off line and upload the play through after, might have been a better experience.
While I agree people in chat were annoying, I find it awfully suspicious the bonfires in the area were already lit as he was progressing. I don't think he googled it, I think he practiced of stream.
I believe the psychology is fairly standard human compulsion. The individuals in chat NEED everyone to know that They know what to do. People on the internet are generally unable to let someone who doesn't know something that they do exist in peace.
Also McConnel has been worse for the playthrough than chat IMO. He yells at chat for but has actively lied to Asmond and advised him to NOT DO things like light attack or equip armor appropriate for his playstyle just to make things miserable.
this guy got to like the final bosses & still hasn't learned how to use a shield 🤣 guys trying to jump over the bed of chaos' swing attacks like he's playing jump rope.
Its one thing that he lost the 140k souls. Its another that he clearly is reading chat constantly now and would've 100% seen and ignored the chats' messages about the souls on purpose.
I wonder why, maybe what McConnel wrote in chat that he is completly overleveld bc. he made the dlc first? What triggers me the most is when he was reading chat about the bonfire in Izalith and then pretends like he found it out himself
Pretty sure he intentionally ignored chat because he dosent want any help/back-seating, so if asmon played this game off stream he would've missed the 140k and it would be unfair if the reason he retrieved it is because of chat and not his Pepega brain
I know this is like years late, but he most likely missed the souls cause he was distracted by streaming. So if he was playing solo off stream he most likely wouldn't have missed the souls, there is no way anyone just forgets about 140k souls. @@xvor_tex8577
@@xvor_tex8577he only wants the help when it suits him most Whenever he’s at any SLIGHT inconvenience he’ll constantly glance over at chat for advice/instruction Like with priscilla, the area after dukes and countless times over. I think it’s fine to do that, but pretending like he doesn’t get help and asking for no help but still taking it is so annoying to watch… Yet here I am 10 episodes deep 👀
@@dtyj2815 I don't know if you fought this boss before but it's different in the way that it sucks, it pretty much devolves in to a zerg rush until you cut both branches and make a blind jump to the off-center path below all the while trying to deal with wide unavoidable swipes that will easily knock you off, it's not fun or satisfying even if it was easy. A good, innovative Dark Souls boss fight is the Curse-Rotted Greatwood, you have to figure out how to hurt it, actively search for weak spots and has a actual pattern to predict.
Okay it's been a long time coming, but I think I'm done watching this playthrough. Every single time there is anything at all for him to discover or figure out on his own, chat keeps spamming the answer until he glances over and reads it. For me, part of the joy in watching someone play DS for the first time, is seeing how they learn and adapt to overcome the obstacles that the game puts in their path. In the case of Asmongold he meets an obstacle, and within 3-4 minutes he reads the solution in chat. Chat ruined it for me, and I'm done. I hope anyone else still watching can enjoy the remainder of the run, but this is it for me.
@@LD-bb5qn It's possible that I will. But like I said, this has been a long time coming - my frustration has built up slowly over a long time while this shit continued to happen stream after stream. If I do come back for the next playthrough, my patience will already be thin to the point where I'll rage quit the first time I see him glancing at chat.
@@FieldMarshall3 That's fine, but I think there are more than two options. It's not like Asmon has to either run around completely clueless for hours without being allowed a single hint, or chat gets to freely chain-spam directions for the entire stream. Ideally, I would want Asmon to simply not have the chat open. He would then have ONE person (Mcconnel or someone else, doesn't really matter) sitting in Discord, whom Asmon can ask for hints if he needs it. This person would have to be someone who is concerned with keeping the run as blind as possible, while giving the bare minimum of information ONLY when Asmon requests it. Asmon is a streamer and has a good idea of what is enjoyable content. I'm confident that, in this hypothetical scenario, he would ask the person for directions before spending 20 minutes just running in circles.
Does he earn more if more people write on chat? He purposely doesn't take items, leaves 140K souls, misses bonfires that triggers chat all the time. Is there any benefit to it as a streamer?
Sad that people don't realize that "blind playthrough" and "stream" don't go together. When you have thousands of people watching and an active chat obviously people are going to throw spoilers out there. You want to get mad at Asmon for looking at chat? Why is chat there in the first place? You want to get mad at chat? When Asmon runs around lost like a headless chicken and someone in chat types out "the doors on the left you idiot" I can't blame them, that's a normal human response. If Mcconnell really cared he'd have done this off stream, but he wanted his cake and to eat it too. There's always going to be something lost, it's just sad people don't see that and get mad about it.
As s new dark souls player, the dark souls community is one of the most braindead restarted people I've ever come across, the fact that they would rather watch asmon run mindlessly for half an hour is considered fun to them to the point where if someone tells him where to go they get mad like babies. Running in circles is NOT fun, not knowing what to do is NOT fun, if i ever not know what to do i would want people to tell me what to do cuz otherwise im getting out of the game, i don't have time to run around mindlessly in a game, I'd rather spend it doing something actually fun
Late but, I skip episodes just to comment here as I got bored after he beat S and O in anor londo. He's insanely overlevelled. I never had that hp pool even when I beat the game and he couldve used different weapons to change things up. Way too OP and he already has everything told to him by chat
use the spawn point of the Abyss to farm humanity off the floating humanities in there and when you get to the dark knights after you drain the water farm the dark knights for titanite chunks. Kill all the titanite demons that exist for titanite slabs, each time you go into new game +, there are only titanite demons that exist each time you play the game. Unlike other enemies, the titanite demons disappear after you kill them. So that's why it is very valuable to kill them in eacch playthrough.. and making sure you get every single one.... Because they drop the piece needed to rei force +15 weapons. So if you want a bunch of +15 weapons, you need to kill all the titanite demons. There is one in Lost Izalith, the place with lava everywhere. It's on a bridge, that's one you'll miss out on & you don't want to miss out on any titanite demon drops. There are also the ones down in Sens Fortress as soon as you enter in, on the very bottom of the level. Then there's the one in Anor Londo in that one room before you get to Smough & Ornstein. Just pointing out the ones that are easy to miss. Because there are about 5 titanite demons down there in Sens Fortress. And the rest are pretty easy to find & should run into just by playing the game. Like the one in the Catacombs. Having titanite chunks + slabs helps you upgrade your weapons & are harder to get. You can farm 99 humanity easily just by grinding out the floating humanities in the abyss. (:
@@rebellionguard There's one thing to replying to an old comment then there's this guy giving advice to a vod from 6 years ago XD, Imagine if youtube removed the date information on videos, they'd probably deduced that it doesn't matter since people like this guy don't look at them.
18:52 Of course not, it's thanks to not reading these hints that he suckerd so much he almost cried and chat had to tell him about the Zweihander. Never so much was accomplished by NOT reading. 1:47:30 I mean, one gotta ask yourself what did he expect at this point. A ZweiZweihander? A double packed guardian armor? 🤣🤣🤣 2:07:06 Mcconnel still regretting showing that sword 7 streams later. 2:11:08 -Ask some absurd shit like "Please, just tell me if the boss is bugged". *proceeds to read the entire chat looking for hints with the perfect excuse of looking for Yes and Nos.
He's so terrible at handling the camera so the people watching are able to see as well. I don't know how he plays the game at all of these janky camera angles.
there's just no way you can know all this info on a blind run. I did a legit blind run cuz internet was unavailable for me before. Plus, he doesnt care about souls that much because he is way too overleveled and he knows it. He barely struggles anymore
Tbh i think he thought he lost like 40k souls only and that's why he didn't care. Anyways if you go fooling around with a +15 Zwei and a calamity ring you kinda don't deserve those 141k souls, i swear sometimes it's disrespectful when he gets so cocky.
It's almost like wow players contract some kind of disability and are incapable of playing other games. They are all 30 in their garbage infested caves, lose thought process, and say wow terms in games nothing like wow. Honestly why stream if you only play wow?
2:04:50 😂😂 yeah they did. To be fair this part of the game is very unpolished but they left it that way. Dark Souls is hilarious. I mean they included a Resistance stat just to troll people into using it.
Being a long, avid player of WoW myself, I do admit finding it profusely annoying when he refers to things in WoW-speech. Can I hearth back, Antorus instead of Artorias, Solaire of Andorhal etc.
His gameplay got so boring once he put on heavy armor. Basically just walks around pressing left click never learning any mechanics or mob attack patterns.
Its funny how his chat helped him thru out the entire game and yet he's taking the credit for beating the bosses and finding the painted world while wearing full heavy armor and using a zweihandler.
@@BigFry9591 Don't even answer dude, these guys are a buncha crybabies. Dark Souls 1 is really easy when you get some items, you don't even need to make an effort to beat the game, so they get mad at anyone who uses a build like that one. Let them cry, Dark Souls is easy...
Zack is the worst type of streamer and, person overall. He tries his little heart out to act non chalant and go along with whatever the average normal opinion is. He's a whittle baby when it comes To anyonejudging any aspect of him, from the most minor of things, including his gaming ability. Whenever he's under scrutiny he breaks down. To me, his personality is that of a malignant narcissist but one with no talents whatsoever, that feels criticisms of him in any way including jokes undermine his ego.
Look, don't expect someone to be the most mentally and physically mature person when they played tryhard neck-beard style the same game for more than a decade as a lifestyle that, by pure luck, made them rich. He might have his flaws, but overall I don't think he is that bad compared to other people, and I think it's somewhat understandable considering his entire life, or at least the life he decided to share with people across his streams. He's also pretty entertaining when he is talking about many things he is truly passionate about, despite his vocabulary being that of a 12 year old lol
Malignant narcissist? When is he putting other people down? You could say McConnell (I'm not saying he is) is more of a malignant narcissistic than him.
Atleast hes not sitting there and judging other people, its funny when nobodies like you who are clearly jealous whine about flaws of other person they dont even know about, get your head out of your ass pal
lol we already won those 1K nice. good luck you freakin struggle at smough and ornstein and talk about no hit run HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. HAHAHA.
Do anyone really think someone who is half blind, who most of the times is running around with 20-40% HP and doesn't give a fuck about healing, who every time he gets 80K+ souls he fools around during half an hour till he realizes or loses them, who LITERALLY doesn't know how to look behind him with the camera while moving, can complete the game with 0 deaths? OMEGALUL sooner or later he's gonna realize he doesn't want to spend months getting gud
