That guy who blamed his guilds for little progress - people who do this aren't necessarily bad players, they just have no idea wtf they're doing when they look for a guild. If he wants serious progression he probably shouldn't be joining a streamer guild, for starters. You can get a trial to a guild way higher progress than you if you impress in the application. Proper spelling and punctuation, show that you take raiding seriously, talk about specific encounters and how you deal with certain mechanics using the abilities available to your class. Don't pad for logs because experienced officers are good at reading logs, they'll know if you performed the encounter correctly, or if you were ignoring mechanics for damage. A mediocre parse where you took 0 damage from avoidable mechanics is infinitely more appealing to a raiding guild than one where you ignored everything for damage. Do not join a guild struggling to kill the last boss on Heroic if you want any sort of reasonable mythic progression. These are heroic guilds, they may not even have 20 players every raid, they will have to bring along terrible players that happen to be in their roster because it's the only way they can reach 20, they'll maybe kill the first mythic boss and then give up. These guilds are normally very young and do not last long, or they've been around for a while and their players are burning out. Do your homework, a guild's age tells you a lot about them.

If better guild would reject applications like that as 'no excuse', wasn't he just stating why he wanted a new one?
