Every time I open one of these videos, there's a genuineness in the way you say "it's good to see ya," that just puts me at ease, like I'm catching up with and old friend. Puts me at ease from the get-go.
Been drinking Hobgoblin for years... Appropriate accompaniment for when I play D&D. :). It's a dark ale that drinks light. Thx for covering this one... Good to get these less known beers out there!
I used to live right next to the brewery in Oxfordshire. Went on holiday over New Year in Suffolk, and the bar had it on tap! Very tasty. Your sampling European beers has encouraged me to try some of the American Craft beers my local supermarket has for sale. Thanks for the videos!
That's so strange. Just searched up the channel and found this uploaded barely a few minutes xD. Just got in too! Perfect! I'm sooo looking forward to this (:
hey ER im from the UK and i would say hobgoblin is a good ale but an even better ale which i highly recommend and hope you do a review of is the ale "Spitfire"
Really? It's bog standard ale nowadays I feel. Pedigree is your average pump ale. A good one I like is Crafty Dan 13 Guns. Even like Stone IPA. Not on draught just canned condition. Pricey but classy.
ASMRer AND beertuber? I'm 100% subscribed. Thanks a lot man this is wonderful! For what it's worth, Hobgoblin and Wychwood's other beers used to taste much better around 4 years ago before they got bought by Marstons PLC. Still, it's pretty nice.
For reference, the Hobgoblin is about 5.2% abv. :) It's funny to see an ale that's familiar to me in a video like this. I feel like no one outside of England knows about it.
Hobgoblin is a nice dark ale. If it's imported and you can find it I suggest you try Dark Island ale from Orkney, (the very tippy top of of the UK) it's rich and earthy. :)
They have that a lot in the supermarkets near me (St. Andrews, Scotland). Label never appealed to me much, but I'll give it a try. Good Beer Advocate reviews - that's got to mean something, right?
Interesting to see you review this beer. I personally preferred some of the other ales that Wychwood do. The hobgoblin is a bit plain and dry to my tastes.
If your ever in a Wegmans (its only in the east) i suggest buying dandelion and burdock Its in an all natural section. Even though its a soda its interesting and different
Good video and a great beer, one of my favourites. Try Goliath ale by the same brewery if you can get it... Or Bishop's Finger by Shepherd Neame brewery! 😀👍👍👍
omg ER, i live in england and this is my favourite beer of all time :D !!! so glad you reviewed it, wychwood make a lot of really good beers and brews, you should see if you can do another wychwood one :D
Hey, if you get the chance to read this I would love a review of "Angry Orchard Apple Cider" while maybe reviewing Desolation of Smaug, if you have seen it.
Not only are these videos great, but there is a clear distinction between the quality of comments in this video/ channel and different ones. I would like to personally thank everyone in the comment section for being considerably articulate. Thanks :)
I'm from North West Wales and in my my region there are numerous breweries that create real ale. My personal favourite is the Purple Moose, maybe you should check it out, I highly recommend it. Iechyd da!

I'd love another visit from mister fallout ghoul. Maybe bottle caps on bottles is considered entertainment in the wasteland? Just an idea. Keep up the great work Uncle E!
You should try DAS. Like has been awarded once for best beer in the world. Their logo says:"Das, its character in your glass" Belgian beer. But beware of the % ;0)
Hey ER great vid as always another great film to watch if you want to know about Iranian culture is PERSEPOLIS defo at least check it out on imdb to see if its something you would enjoy. As a half Iranian i'm glad you don't believe a lot of the rubbish you hear in the media.
Oh i had that beer the other day here in Denmark! it was pretty good :) I had another one too, a french one, which was superior though (i know the brits won't take kindly to that..), but i just can't remember its name.. Bit odd since i liked that one better hehe. I like foreign films. The language barrier doesn't mean much, as long as the acting seems natural. I mean subtitles will do it. I've just watched a bunch of chinese movies. Hong Kong has a great movie industry too :) Have you ever seen The Departures? I think you of all people would love it :) Check it out ER, it's japanese movie.
Omg I'm British I hate you! jk jk No one will hate you for your opinions + we don't personally make the beer/ale so if you're offended then you're an ignorant fuck! :) Do like Hobgoblin, thanks for the movie suggestion :)
Dubbed foreign films are terrible. But some people can't read subtitles fast enough and watch a movie. I know a lot of people who won't watch them with me just because they don't want to read. Very annoying, since they're missing out on some fantastic films and shows, but to each their own.
Everything is *creamy* 2 this guy in reviews, he even has a default way of saying that word I've noticed lol!!! Makes me laugh now every time he says it
