The sound of your fingers slightly sticking to the wrapping paper of the gym chalk at 5:00 is severely underrated. It is an amazing sound. I could listen to an entire video of it. It's just very subtle.

i used to be gymnast! gym chalk actually has a very velvety/baby powery consistency so it’s doesn’t really dry ur hands out in that way just wicks the surface moisture/tackiness so they aren’t sticky which is why it’s used for weight lifting/doing gymnastics ☺️

Thank you for this, your careful attention to sound does not go unnoticed! Where a lot of asmr channels find objects that could make cool sounds in theory but in practice aren’t that great, you clearly pay a special care to the sounds and work hard to include only the most satisfying sounds. Very relaxing I must say! It just amazes me how chalk can be relaxing when crushed correctly, I normally got rashes whenever I touched chalk so I never really thought of it being relaxing. Sorry I just was remedied of that so I guess this is a random comment but keep up the good work!

hamber i split the block in half and then i crush one half of it to make powder that i put on my hands. the other is still a block and i use it for my grips. some people don’t crush it up if they don’t want to and other people also just crush it up but it depends on what you prefer

Is it weird that the first thing I thought about this was that it probably smells really nice? Some of my teachers still used chalkboards when I was in school and yeah, I was that kid who wanted to clean the chalkboard erasers just because I liked the smell. 🤷

I don’t think I’ve ever smelled a chalkboard but what about whiteboards? I have a whiteboard marker I really like the smell of and my classmates think im weird for smelling the pen.

Glad I can share this basically anonymously. (An embarrassing experience) I used to be in gymnastics, then changed to tumbling. But while I was in gymnastics, I was on the beam. I walked across it, did my handstand, walked back, and decided I would look cool doing a FRONT FLIP. Off of it. At 7 years old, I didn’t know how. So I was like “how hard can it be” and I did and I fell off the big mat and got a concussion 👍 Rule Num.1 kids. Don’t do stuff you can’t do because it will lead to the hospital

We use chalk at trapeze and this is what goes through my head every time I use it (chalk is like my favorite texture ever it’s just so relaxing to me to feel it)
