from watching Mr.Bean conducting (even though its a comedy) you can get that conducting is only approximate way of how the music should flow plus the orchestra have their notes in front of them so they might even do it with no conductor at all
While I love a scripted role play, these cosy show and tells are my absolutely favourite. There’s something so relaxing about it feeling like you’re just hanging out and having a chat. Thank you!
The Basil puppet who lives in the brown cone would be so perfect as an assistant in a Quite a Strange video. The sounds of him emerging and retreating from his cone + the hesitant examination was so tingly
basil is such a cute name for the puppet !! mayhaps for the chocolate mouse you could do something like junebug or juniper , i feel like "basil and junebug" has such a nice ring to it
You do 'show and tell' so well! It's like hearing from a close friend about something they're passionate about while also being gently lulled into a calm feeling. I love this. Along with all the gentle tapping noises
Her talking about how the feeling you experience when wearing an outfit changes once you leave the house is so relatable. It’s the worst feeling when the confidence and security all goes poof
My favorite type of ASMR is someone passionately whispering about the things they enjoy. I find myself coming back to these show and tell videos most of all ❤ you're such a delightful person it warms my heart
Brambly hedge is my entire childhood, the reading was so comforting and nostalgic, it reminded me of how my mum would read me those stories at bedtime and little 4 year old me would make her spend extra time on each page so i could look at all the illustrations. I love seeing so many people enjoy these characters who raised me
this comment literally took the words right out of my mouth! i have similar cherished memories of my mom reading these books to me too and scrutinizing every picture! it makes me so happy to think that other people have the same shared love for these books. erin has such an uncanny talent for triggering my favorite childhood memories (and yours too it seems!) really hoping she brings this book back in another video (the secret staircase was always my fav)!
You know Moon, if you ever uploaded an ASMR of just you reading story books for like an hour, I think a lot of people would watch it. Your soft and supple voice is perfect for the task
i took a conducting class in college and its a very interesting experience. basically 99% of the work is done well before the actual performance; theres a lot of studying the score and prep before any rehearsals, then theres working with the ensemble to help them understand anything that might be different from what's already in the score, helping them be aware of cues and things like that, and you do however many rehearsals, and then the actual performance comes and it's mostly just making sure everyone keeps together and comes in at the right time (its a little more complex than i might be making it sound here but its definitely true that the vast majority of the work is done way in advance of the performance for the conductor)
Can I say that I really love that you make the videos you want to make and don't chase maximum views? A lot of my favorite videos (including the show and tell type like this one) of yours don't rack up your highest view counts, and I'd miss them terribly if you stopped making them.
The Show & Tell videos are my favorite. They make me feel way better than any other type of video and I always watch them before anything else. Thank you! Please make more of these. :)
omg i go see orchestras all the time i can’t remember the first time i saw one but that magical feeling always comes up! highly recommend going whenever you can live orchestras are heaven
I love these show and tell videos. Just getting a cool glimpse into your style and all the wonderful things you buy is so special and I fall asleep immediatly and have to come back to finish the next night. Thank you erin
omg, Brambly hedge book! it was my favourite cartoon as a kid. I own Autumn story, Secret staircase, Sea story and i gave Winter story to my mum as a gift long time ago. this video is so soothing with different sounds, but tapping is my favourite trigger
huge fan and music major here! i took conducting classes and there is SO much that goes into it. it’s also different depending on what group your conducting (orchestra vs band). you need a full masters in conducting it’s a whole thing. hope that sheds some light on it! also love love love your videos and have been a long time fan ❤ much love erin
oh my gosh the Stardew orchestra experience sounds incredible... Moonlight Jellies is my favourite tune and it must have been so cool to "meet" ConcernedApe in person! I have a lot of admiration for him. My go-to wives are Abi or Leah 🥰
I love these show and tells, thank you for a new one! I’ve only married one person in Stardew, Leah :) but it makes me sad that they just get stuck on your farm after marriage so idk if I will marry anyone on a new playthrough
The stories you have to tell are so cool! Hope you have a great one and thank you for all the videos; usually I fall asleep pretty quick but I was too intrigued this time lol
when I was in choir, our directors kept time with one hand and used the other to cue us (louder, softer, faster, hold notes, etc). it's not orchestral conducting, but it looks similar, although actual professional conductors tend to get really, REALLY into the music, whereas when I was a child/teen the director just wanted us to stand up straight and not fidget.
OH MY GOSH I HAVE A LIL TRINKET BOX WITH THAT ART OF THE MICE LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW ON IT, I've had it since I was very very small and I didn't know it was based on a book series!!!!
Rochester NY is blessed to have the Rochester Philharmonic and Eastman School of Music. Their film and media ensemble just did La La Land score to screen with the orchestra was amazing.
I'm a classical musician, I've performed with orchestras for over 20 years, and I used to teach conducting classes in college. There is definitely a language to orchestral conducting - gestures usually have very specific meanings. After all, it's about communicating musical ideas from one person to an entire orchestra of musicians who have to work together. There's also communication from the conductor to the audience so they know what to expect and what emotions are being performed. That being said, there are some conductors who invent their own musical language, which means the musicians have no idea what they're trying to say. 😆
I’m in my first ever play through of Stardew. I am totally loving the game. I ended up marrying Emily because she was the one I had the most hearts with when I learned about marriage candidates. I am finding myself drawn to Sebastian because of his story and the fact that he’s a cool nerd. Still haven’t decided if I am going to break up with Emily and go with Sebastian or just wait. I love seeing the gamer in you. Maybe you could do a game play through as an ASMR video
Hi! I’ve been a subscriber for a while now and I must say, you are BY FAR my favorite ASMRtist OF ALL TIME. If I had to choose one video game to watch a concert on, it would be Don’t Starve Together! I LOVE indie video games like that and Stardew Valley! Im a huge fan of your channel! Have a great day!
all the winter songs from stardew are amazing, but i think The Wind Can Be Still is my favorite! ☃️ i also think Junie would be such a cute name for the new mouse friend!! 🐭
not sure if youre still reading the comments from this video erin but orchestral conductors actually do less than youd think! they mainly serve as a visual for musicians to keep everyone centered to one particular speed and the movements they make are normalized and associated with the amount of beats in each measure in the sheet music, but the big guns are all pulled out by the musicians themselves. a lot of my conductor friends are actually either self taught or are musicians first and conductors second, and i know a lot of conductors come from an instrumental background first which gives them their musical base. hope this helped a little!
How about the name Jericho for the chocolate mouse!! Oh this one has to be one of my favorites, hearing about the puppets and stories, little shops and adventures is so SO lovely!! Thank you Erin
