The shoulder muscles, on the other hand... were wound a bit tight
And she has the pain tolerance of a buffalo

Speaking of shoulder, my left is injured bc I've overdone it, playing a mean steering wheel guitar
But all is well bc I'm scheduled to get a crack from the local Jack tomorrow, Friday the 6th
And my Philly guy is coming to town for the Phish concert in Hershey next week
He is an inspector of all things everywhere. Self-appointed. It takes a bit of extra energy to dual with his Saggitarian wits, which are always about him regardless of medicinal states
Back to the cracking
Weird anomaly for Hannah and I. A native of Louisianna she is no stranger to flash floods. And damn was it a sad story when she told me (off-camera) that one August afternoon in 2016, a flash flood came and wiped out everything she owned in less than 10 minutes.
"August 2016 you say? Do you happen to recall the date?" I asked perplexed
"The 15th"
"Great Googaly Moogaly... that was the day my wife told me..."
I don't think you and I have gone there yet...
2016. Life was good. Marriage (with "E") was fair. Kids were challenging. The youngest was 3 and we... were finally emerging from 5 years of baby life depravation
Friends of ours were "poly." We discussed the possibility, read some books, and moved on without any serious contemplation
But the female of the friend couple... was into us
But "E" said that she preferred to explore this ...without me
I had no attachments
That happened, it fizzled, and then another suitor appeared for my wife
And that did not fizzle
Instead it sparked the notion/discovery/idea/thought/realization from "E"
"I don't want to be with men... like ever again"
Standing in the summer heat, I said
"OK"
Oh I totally get it, this makes perfect sense, I'm so happy for you and I'm sure we'll work everything out and I'm still so honored to be a coparent with you and I look forward to assisting you in this major life transition

Naw I didn't say that
but... I wish I did
Let's dive in here
I'm sitting at a bar, a few deep, telling some stranger this weird story about my wife, and the stranger said
"Yeah, that happened to me too... I just stopped being with men and I'm a lot happier"
She then digressed
"And there's a huge bias against women who do this. Men come out as gay and everyone says "congratulations, good for you." But women come out as gay and everyone says... "it's just a phase."
Hmmph... I was stumped...
Leaning into the fluidity of sexuality. Turns out it's kind of common but natural for women. And it's been documented to happen way before the agricultural interventions that seem to also have influence over gender expression in various species.
How did I get here?
Ah. Hannah and I must have been on the same cycle somewhere on some planet-crossing through some house of whatever. Bc both of our lives took extraordinary turns... for the better... amidst what may have seemed tragic... lotus style

Coparenting is easier when your ideals align. And you just be kind. And be happy for the other person. It wasn't always easy. But "E" demonstrated unconditional love and patience for me when I struggled. It was a hard and beautiful ending. And I'm super grateful that "E" is the mother of my children.
