This is a really good guide, especially for beginners. Thanks guys. I like the 'thunk' instead of the classic 'thock' sound made by these kinds of switches.
Thank you so much for this! After meditating on it for a little while, this video gave me the push I needed to buy some Kailh BOX Silent Pinks! Very excited to get my new keyboard build going with these!
I did a lot of research on silent switches over a year ago. From what I gathered the best stock silent switches are Gazzew Bobagums, but the most silent switches IIRC are lubed Silent Alpacas V2. great video
Very helpful, thank you! I'm still looking for the perfect tactile that is silent but also low-force. I haven't found it quite yet, but I enjoy trying out switches so it's all in good fun! Also, Dominique ASMR when, omg???
So are all these going to be options for the Raise 2? Since you weren't sure what version of the Kaihl Box White you were going to use yet, I assume there's leaway in the switch line up?
We can't be 100% sure yet. Still, the variety of switches that will be available with the Raise 2 will probably be the same as with the Defy: Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow, Kailh silent brown or Kailh Box white, and at an extra cost, Kailh Silent pink, Kailh speed silver, Cherry MX Red, Kailh Speed copper, Cherry MX Brown or Cherry MX blue
I’ve heard a lot of good about the Kailh silents, should probably give some of them a go. 🤔 I’ve been very happy with the silent Alpacas for months now! For the occasional thock KTT Pine’s have been amazing as well.
"The shaft hits the bottom of the base and the inner wall of the upper hole." I clicked on a keyboard switch demonstration and a romance novel broke out!
You need to double check your Kailh Midnight Pro Silent Tactile switches The official ones do not have black bottoms and are a lot quieter then the ones you demo'ed on this video.
Thay a nice test, thank you. Sill i'm surprise to not see the Kailh Prestige Silent switches... who could be the best silent switches today. Is there a raison ?
This was a good one. Just remove the background noise ('music') :) BTW, much better than the "I try to be funny stuff" you mostly do, which I personally do not like.
The video was about the different Kailh silent switches, but if you like this kind of content we can make another one testing silent switches from different brands 😊
