The reason for the pale skins of Valyrians is interesting and makes sense when you consider that the peninsula of the Freehold is located in what would be considered the equatorial region of that world as most of the races (i.e. Summer Islanders, Ghiscari, etc.) in that region tend to have dark skin.

I love the idea that Valyrians are the products of genetic engineering/blood magic, with the additional speculations that they were originally enslaved (docile sheep people... no one would likely consent to being the subjects of these experiments, so it seems reasonable to assume they were forced), but the "dragon blood" allowed them to gain control of dragons and possibly contribute to the GEOTD's downfall; and that there might be, still, "wild" dragons who don't share the Valyrian blood heritage, are less tamable (see, likely, the Cannibal, who the smallfolk of Dragonstone claim was there before the Targaryens came; Grey Ghost; and possibly Sheepstealer, who though eventually tamed, was tamed by Nettles, who could have been a dragonseed but had absolutely no Valyrian characteristics). I'd like to know if Nettles was a fluke (given her dedicated mutton offerings and Sheepstealer's eponymous proclivity, perhaps hers was an older and more basic style of dragon taming), or whether she had some blood useful to the endeavor, either as a dragonseed or as *something else* entirely.

@@freealbemuth9871 I would guess that 'Nissa Nissa' was the Amethyst Empress, if not the entire royal family. If you're magically creating a species of fire-monsters you're going to need a lot of powerful kingsblood. The preceding attempts were probably a sacrifice of non-royal blood, followed by more sacrifices of lesser royalty.

That Lightbringer was the first dragon has always struck me as the case. The tale of Azor Ahai tells of many failed experiments before succeeding, which is likely where the Bloodless men and other strange races were created
@magister343
@magister343 5 лет назад
My personally theory is that Westeros and Essos were once populated by a species of Proto-Dragons that strongly resembled the dragons of Valyria, enough that they could not be distinguished from the bones they left behind. These were powerful flying armored beasts (perhaps even closer to the size of an Ice Dragon when fully grown) but they could not breathe fire and were not especially intelligent or magical. They share a common ancestor with the Wyverns of Sothyros, but those lineages diverged further back than the Children of the Forest and Giants did from proto-humans. The sorcerers of Asshai were the first to tame these proto-dragons. They probably used blood magic, perhaps mingling the blood of man and beast to better bind them to their will and make them into mounts. They still could not breathe fire, but their speed, strength, and flight would turn the tide of many battled. The first Fire-breathing dragons were created in the Fourteen Flames, after the sorcerers of Asshai discovered the pale blind Firewyrms there. They began their most dangerous blood magic experiments yet, combining the Firewryms both with their protodragons and with the local human population. They lost control of both experiments. The local Valyrians combined their natural affinity for fire with the blood magic they learned from the masters in order to overthrow them and establish an even greater civilization of their own.
@lucymalak90rod60
@lucymalak90rod60 5 лет назад
But then How the Five Forts were made? They are made of what's apparently fused stone, they needed fire-breathing dragons or something like that to made them. Fire-breathing dragons must have been existing before than valyrians ever appeared at the Fourteen flames.

Your Theory would also support the reason the Targaryens mated with their own family. The examples GRRM gives us on mishapened stillbirths seem to happen when the Targaryens have mated with humans of little to no Valyrian DNA or, in effect, Valyrian blood ( similar to Rh factor).

Maybe mating while warged/skinchanged transfers a bit of the "warged" being into the offspring and that's why it is considered such a bad thing to do (mating while warged I mean.) Imagine the beginning of mankind in this world went like this: CoTF and Giants rule the world before mankind, a male CotF falls in love with a Giantess but they can't be together/mate (for obvious reasons) and so he wargs into a male Giant and then mates with her as a way to bypass their biological limitations. The resulting child is mostly giant...but a bit of the CoTF somehow (ya know..because of magic) ends up transferred into the them making them mostly Giant...but also now a small part CoTF. Repeating this process over and over you could synthesize hybrids such as Garth and the GK seem to be, and do it enough and you would theoretically end up with a being genetically close enough to a CoTF to be able to finally cross breed these hybrids with CoTF by normal means. Which would reduce their size even more dramatically. Thus creating mankind (a human sized greenseer/warg like Bran). If that makes sense. Not that I think this happened, just giving an example. With the case of Valyrians you would (simplified version) : Warg into a firewyrm and breed with another firewyrm creating a mostly firewyrm but partially "human" offspring. Do this a second time so you have two. Warg into one of them and mate with the other, so the effect is stacked. Keep going. Keep putting more and more "human" into them until you end up with some weird Human/Firewyrm hybrid who is now enough human to mate with another actual human but still retains firewyrm traits (heat resistance no eyes..etc). Do this exact same process with Wyverns or whatever. Once you have hybrids of both (who are both human enough to mate each other) have them mate together. With the final result being a three-way hybrid humanoid of warg/wyrm/wyvern...with traits from all three. A very intelligent humanoid with heat resistance who has a genetic and telepathic connection with dragons. A Valyrian. Just slightly alter the formula to create more literal dragons. Again, not that I think that specifically happened, but maybe something similar. You could theoretically make all the hybrids listed the same way just doing it to various animals. Science run amok type thing. Essentially though, using skinchanging as a means of genetically altering animals and beasts to become more human...and then using the human parts of them as a sort of genetic bridge allowing them finally to cross-breed with each other. If that makes sense. It all relies on skinchanging/warging while having sex having an actual effect on the offspring though, which I have zero evidence for. Fun to think about though I guess.
@sebascruz7762
@sebascruz7762 5 лет назад
If you think about it, that gives more sense to the idea that mating while skin-changing is considered an abomination, because it creates these hybrids
@Kunumbah1
@Kunumbah1 2 года назад
Maybe Nissa Nissa and the forging of lightbringer was a result of this. One of these hybrids mated with Nissa Nissa and the result was lightbringer aka the first dragon. Now you ask yourself how is a human supposed to give birth to a dragon. The answer is you can’t, she probably gave birth to the dragon the same way Aerea Targaeryan gave birth to her firewyrms... it burst through her skin. In the story female characters are often compared to the moon and we hear a tale at the start of the story about the Sun and Moon kissing and dragons bursting out of the moon.

And, If you were to make a chimaera out of all of the "selectively bred" humanoid races that "escaped" the "Doom of Asshai/ the Dawn" during the migration to Valyria. I feel like you would get something that looks just like a dragon with the intelligence of a human, that could bond with a human of similar genetic makeup, but the would surpass all the previous chimeras and turn into what I think of as a dragon in asoiaf.

my take Could be that in the Shadow they mixed wyrms with something else using blood magic so they could build those black structures, but not necessarily with wyverns. Then taught the Valyrians just blood magic in general. Maybe they had a ground-based fire breathing creature. I feel like the Valyrians were unique with their dragons and control of the sky. Wouldn't we see something like Valyria's sky towers in the Shadow if they had dragons? Or maybe they did have dragons in the Shadow but were not obsessed enough to base their culture around it. And the Valyrians totally mixed themselves/humans with the dragons they created and bred/perfected them until they became what they were! Whatever the actual case is with 'the magic going out from the world,' it's related to both dragons basically dying out (including the white wyrm-dragon hatchling) and Valyrians/Targaryans having the dragon-wyrm-baby stillbirths. The magic holding their 'DNA' (or whatever) together is breaking down. Maybe magic in the world is a finite resource and the Cold Ones are hogging it now hahaha. Maybe that comet brought more 'magic' to the world somehow. I'd have to re-read the books the check whether that makes any sense. Dany's dragons hatched after the comet right? Great video!

They were just blindly following tradition. They had no idea what they were doing, which is why their dragons went extinct. They just kept marrying siblings because it was tradition and ingrained into them that that was their power. That is how tradition goes; it starts for a valid reason, then it goes on for so long, people forget the real reason, and then people start to question the tradition, saying it is stupid.... but it is only stupid because people are ignorant of why it started; and it may no longer be useful in current times; the Targs are pretty much all gone now, so clearly they had no idea what they were doing and just blindly followed the old traditions

I wonder if the Bloodstone Empereror/Azor Ahai used his unborn baby with the Amethyst Empress/Nissa Nissa to create dragons or perhaps he impregnated her with this new creature and she literally gave birth to the first dragons which killed her. The Bloodstone Emperor could have lied to her to get her to cooperate which was why he was cast out by their mutual brothers and sisters and sent to the wall . . . where he continued his experiments with the Tiger woman/Night's Queen and created the Others.

The is an excellent and - dare I say - definitive account of how the Valyrians created and linked themselves to Dragons. I’m glad you’ve solved this mystery. I find the most fascinating thing about ASOIAF is the lore and mysteries but without WoW and DoS I’ve wouldn’t we’d never get the answers to some of the deepest mysteries. (Although as obsessed as I am I’ve only read half of TWOIAF and none of Fire and Blood, I’m too tired from work I guess.) You’ve cracked one of the greatest mysteries, thank you.

The presence of fused stone does not necessarily mean that there were dragons involved. Maybe ancient civilizations used domesticated firewyrms for constructing underground structures.

I don't know if I sent this post to you before, but your surmises are very like ones I posted on my facebook page a couple of years ago. In that I concluded that the Valyrians were related to an older race I called the Elder Gods. Basically, in good Lovecraftian fashion, I surmised that there was an elder race, much like Tolkien's Eldar, who ruled the world before the Dawn Age. It was these Elder Gods who actually created the dragons and who bred the people who would become the Valyrians. The primary difference is that these Elder Gods interbred with humans, which acounted for their dragon blood. Your conclusions sound just as valid or even more so if we assume that the Valyrians were genetically engineered with both dragons and the Elder Gods own DNA.

@@TheDisputedLands It's on my facebook page. I haven't been able to track it down, but its still there. I think there are actually two posts, but this is the original. Apologies for the length: In the age before the Dawn Age there existed a great and powerful race, much like humans but smarter and longer lived. They were similar in some ways to the elves of Middle Earth, but in some very crucial respects were very different. This powerful race, in keeping with the Lovecraftian themes we’re going to call them ‘the Old Ones’, created great works. They are the ones who created the black stone monuments and cities. They were also the creators of the dragons and other monsters of Planatos. But they were also corrupt and greedy. They enslaved other races and made them fight terrible wars. They also interbred with their slaves, producing children who had their silver-gold hair and amethyst eyes, though not their prolonged lifespan. The Old Ones fought endless wars with one another, likely driving their species to the edge of extinction. Whether they did or not is not yet answered, but what most likely happened is that their own half-breed children rose in rebellion against them. When their offspring realized their mixed blood allowed them to control dragons they knew they had the power to defeat the Old Ones. It was this war which likely drove the First Men into Westeros in the first place. Their children then created the Empire of the Dawn. But the Old Ones influence was still present. The quest for their ancestors’ power is probably what led to the rise of the Bloodstone Emperor. Whether it was coincidence, something he did, or something the Others did, the volcano that would one day be named Marahai in the Jade Sea exploded. Now I doubt there was any connection between the Others and the Bloodstone Emperor, but it hardly matters if there was. The massive explosion resulted in a ‘nuclear winter’ wherein the volcanic ash blocked out the sun and created a winter which lasted a generation. It also froze the sea channel separating Essos from Westeros. In Westeros there was a man who would later be referred to as The Last Hero. He saw how the clouds of ash were blocking out the sun and he went to find their source. This led him to acquire the name Eldric Shadowchaser. He had many other names in Essos, but I think we can infer his real name: Eldric Dayne. Eldric’s search for the shadow resulted in the journey that cost him all his companions and eventually brought him to the Empire of the Dawn. The empire was split between what we’ll call the Emperor’s Men and the Empress’ Men. They were fighting a civil war because of the Bloodstone Emperor’s usurping the throne. How much contact, if any, between them and the Others is unknown, though I’d guess the Emperor’s Men probably did try to work with them. One of the Empress’ Men was a woman who possessed strong magic and even more important a dragon. Her name was Nissa Nissa and her dragon was called Lightbringer. She and Eldric fell in love and both became dedicated to finding a way to end the Long Night. It was she who showed Eldric how to forge his magical blade, made from a piece of the fallen black rock that the Emperor himself worshiped. We don’t know how the two ended the Long Night, though I suspect that it involved the sacrifice of Lightbringer. The dragon’s death somehow caused an end to the eruption. When the eruption ended it resulted in the clouds dissipating, ending the Long Night. Even though this is very vampiric, I suspect that the Others are vulnerable to sunlight, like Trolls on Middle Earth. You’ll notice how they only appear at night or during bad weather. This vulnerability is what allowed the people of Westeros to defeat the Others. It also resulted in the people of Essos rising up and overthrowing the children of the Old Ones, thus forming the empire of Yi Ti. The surviving children fled, to either Old Town, Asshai, or what would eventually become Valyria. Eldric was offered a kingdom by the new emperor, but he declined, giving it to the people who lived there. This is the Patrimony of Harkoon, another of Eldric’s names. Eldric and his bride returned to his home in Westeros, forming House Dayne. It is misremembered stories from him which led to his home being named Starfall. So the Last Hero and Brandon the Builder were not the same person. I have done some corrections, specifically changing the name from Old Ones to Elder Gods, but it is essentially the same. I've posted a whole lot more. I do go into more depth regarding Eldric, the Bloodstone Emperor, and Nissa Nissa in other posts. facebook.com/william.s.romain

@@TheDisputedLands Re-reading it, I think I should mention the changes I had regarding my theory. It was after Gemma made her video about the Bloodstone Emperor. I realized that it was the Emperor who made Dawn, not the Daynes. Dawn is the sword that later became known as Lightbringer. The original Lightbringer was still a dragon, but tales get changed over time. By the same logic Nissa Nissa was not one woman, but two. You see, the Bloodstone Emperor wasn't just the brother of the Amethyst Empress, he was her husband. Her given name was Nissa. And their daughter's name, she who fell in love with Eldric, was also Nissa. Later tellings combine the two women together. It was the Bloodstone Emperor who trust his sword, Dawn, into Nissa's chest. It was also the Emperor who forged Dawn from the fallen meteorite, the Black Stone he 'worshiped'. What connection this has to the Red Comet I don't know, but I am sure there is one. How the Long Night ended probably involved Eldric and daughter Nissa stealing the sword Dawn and the Black Stone from the Emperor. Eldric gave the Stone to his closest friend, Brandon Stark, while he took his wife and the sword and went south. Where they settled became Starfall because the people falsely come to the conclusion that it was Eldric who forged the sword. Brandon likely used the Stone to make the Wall and he hid it in the crypts of Winterfell, building the keep above to protect it.

Or maybe these Elder Gods that the Great Empire of the Dawn emperors and later Valyrians were descendant, were just the God on Earth who was the son of the Lion of Night and Maiden Made of Light (also gods). The God on Earth was father to the Pearl Emperor and this continue until Amethyst Empress and the Bloodstone Emperor and maybe until Valyrians (more specifically the Targaryen family who were the only ones from the whole Valyrian Civilization who had what they called Dragons Dreams).

Yes, yes, yes; excellent work, well done! And let us note : violet, lavender, colourations are the standard manifestation of achromia in the human iris. There are forms of achromia in my family - those of us with ocular achromia possess markedly distinctive pale violet or lavender to lilac or pervenchebleu eyes. It is incomparable to any other manner of apparent colour, not even to pale yet less completely pale colours of iris like bright sky blue, & very changeable with the light, immediately recognizable if one knows it. This is clearly the nature of the colouration or in truth refracted lack thereof! for The Blood of The Dragon, too; it is intimately familiar to anyone who lives with or in proximity to the rarer genetic writing that produces such traits, intensely striking & very strange to anyone else. Thus Brynden Rivers, he is a case of the even rarer manifestation of ocular achromia in humans (& hybrid kin!) of apparent ruby or blush colouration to the eyes, compounded with the total, perfect, form of achromia, lacking the adaptable pigment expression in skin others of his family, including likely the heirs who come to march with the Dothraki & certainly Ægg do possess - yet he is otherwise in fact very much in line with what is typical of his family, his race, in the achromia itself, differing only in degree (his entire body is absolutely affected, not only his irises & hair, his skin to a degree more complete & unalterable than that of at least many others of his family, who have generally suppressed pigmentation of the skin but the ability to produce it under environmental demands, as he does not) & in precise manner of manifestation (the microstructures of his eyes differ subtly, as can at times occur, in such a manner as to produce the effect of ruby/pink rather than violet/lavender). *All* of these manifestations can indeed occur in our world, some of them as in my family as in others. Achromia can affect any organ, all of the body or parts of it, & at any affected region expression of pigment may be suppressed partly to any degree or completely, too. Again, this is a brillant analysis, altogether in every way, my favourite of any analysis for A.S.o.I.A.F.! Thank you for such outstanding work

I believe the Amethyst Empress/Nissa Nissa's blood was used to create dragons. The Bloodstone Emperor/Azor Ahai killed Nissa Nissa to create dragons and was ostracized by his brothers and sisters. He then fell in love with Night's Queen who was the same person as Tiger woman and with her, she used his seed to create the "others".

This is such a great and intriguing video! I keep thinking about Aerea and Septon Barth's descriptions of her suffering and death. If fire wyrms can breathe fire, I have been wondering if in her travels in Valyria(we suspect) she encountered one that was the cause of her death. I mean in the sense that, what if fire wyrms' fire can be "used" for different things. It sounds to me that the small wyrms inside her with human-like features were hatchlings, babies if you will. What if their spawn live in their fire but can also survive in the appropriate host? Of course, I'm talking about a genetically modified fire wyrm, not the original natural one.
@pyropulseIXXI

This is so dumb; they don't spew babies out in their fire. A fire wyrm just impregnated her; it is that simple; and Balerion had to fight the wyrm to get her back, but the deed was already done. She likely got ambushed and taken to the liar and Balerion had to find her

The Great Empire using a mess of magic to create the genetic soup that is dragons and possibly Valyrians strikes me as a good reason as to why dragon hatching seems so finnicky. Before the Doom when dragons were greatly abundant it might have been less noticable that some eggs simply never hatched, hatched weakly/mutated or turned to stone, but after the Doom when the Targaryens had fewer dragons it seems like a frequent occurrence with little explaination. It makes me wonder what Valryians might have written about these events when they, presumably, had more knowledge about the origins of dragons or blood magic in general.

Also I am reminded of the blood magic ritual that helped Danny's dragons hatch. Old knowledge from long ago? Lost in the Doom. Maybe any unhatched dragons in old Valyria were hatched with more blood magic. Blood magic extravaganza.

all the hints at hybrid men make me think that physical hybrids were likely all failures and that the shadow people eventually learned how to just bond with dragons with certain blood magic and/or pyromancy without actual physical hybridization, which would explain why the descriptions of the human hybrids are all monstrous, and why some stillborn targ babies were essentially physical monstrous hybrids. preserving the physical independence of dragons makes for a more convincing intricacy into the art of dragon-bonding, and that if there is something wrong with the blood magic or whatever sorcery that runs through the families of the dragon riders, then it could yield to a monster, either a physical monster that can not survive or another sort of monster like maegor the cruel, dany's brother viserys, etc. in other words, there is no "exact science" to the blood magic used in binding humans to dragons and at some point, the shadow people realized that the bond had to be the right amount of blood magic bond and not some kind of "frankenstein monster" creation that just results in physical abominations. i really think that dragons are not the result of physical hybrids but that they are their own species (or sub-species of asoiaf dinosaurs), that they are part of the natural magical world of planetos. and their existence inspired the shadow people to try and "possess" such incredible power and it took them an uncounted number of generations to finally get that sweet spot of how to actually bind dragons to humans without resulting to physical monsters, more or less. this could also explain why there is a text that implies the valyrians tortured some of their female criminals into having literal dragon babies that are physical monsters that don't survive. if the dragon lords considered physical human-dragon babies as abominations, then this could mean that the bond between dragon and human can't literally be THAT CLOSE, otherwise it's just pointless. it has to be just the right expression of blood magic that would result to a normal human baby with a latent connection to dragons. mirri maz dur cursed dany's dragon in book 1 of asoiaf, and even though george said that the dragon hatching magic is a one-time only thing in the story, he does not say anything about the cursing of dany's unborn baby rhaego. it is clear in the books that rhaego was meant to be the stallion who mounts the world as prophesied by the dothraki, but it was cancelled only because mirri maz dur intervened with her own blood magic. BLOOD MAGIC. which could mean that her blood magic is what interfered with the development of baby rhaego so that it became the incorrect expression of blood magic and caused the baby to be born like the monstrous hybrids who couldn't survive. just my thoughts on the theory that the hybrids in sothoryos are actually failed attempts at dragon-bonding by the shadow people. also, it might be that the shadow people only experimented on outsiders because their own bloodline would likely be corrupted if they experimented on their own, which could explain why they chose the ancestors of the valyrians to bond correctly with the dragons and not their own people. if the shadow people have long practiced magic, they understood that some consequences are likely eternal and so they passed that burden to others. it sounds to me like the ethics of dark magic practitioners. they want to harness the magic of dragons but they don't want to be burdened with the consequences. they also likely understood that even if the dragon-bond works, if the power gets out of hand, it could destroy the dragon-riders, so they basically outsourced their dragon-riders. this could further explain why quaithe is really wanting dany to keep her connection with old valyria and to remember that she is blood of the dragon.

The Disputed Lands Please do! It would be helpful to know if anthropomorphizing dragons is actually not such a far-fetched thing to do. I really want to know what Drogon was thinking when Dany died, how much he could have understood what the Iron Throne meant to her, why he spared Jon, and where he took her body. I’m also a little concerned about the Three Eyed Raven (aka King Bran the Broken) “finding” Drogon and warging into him and/or creating a bond that would allow him to physically ride the dragon.
@TheDisputedLands
@TheDisputedLands 5 лет назад
@@osofine23 i believe it is more of a temperment issue. Have you noticed there have been no wyvern riders ever mentioned? I mean dragons were virtually gone from the world for many centuries after the doom. The next best thing would have been to tame and ride a wyvern. It would have still been a mount of terror and fire and blood mentions how deadly dragons are without flame simply by using teeth , claws and tail. The reason we have never seen a wyvern rider is because they are likely untamable. The worldbook mentions wyverns "far exceeded" dragons in ferocity. So i see the incorporation of human genetics as being an attempt to make dragons tamable because the valyrians were said to be originally peacful shepherds. Despite my belief of tamability being the rationale i do believe there is a quote somewhere that backs up your statement mentioning dragons being as clever or smart as a man. Aziz mentioned this quote in either the livestream on their channel or when he guested on robert's channel.

So the story of Azor Ahai might be one of "keeping the blood of the dragon". First he has a child with "water" (some other bloodline), but it doesn't allow him to bind with dragons, so he has a child with a "lion" (another bloodline) and again it fails. Finally he has a child with "Nissa Nissa" (Mhysa Mhysa? eeek), of his own bloodline, and it works. The "moon cracks" and the "dragons came forth to drink the flames of the sun", or "son". It's a story of how the dragon lords managed to keep the blood of dragon, to bind dragons. If Daenerys finds out and Jon has Targaryen blood, she might go out of her way to try and have a child with him.

Ashara Dayne - dark hair + violet hair - George compared her to Elizabeth Taylor meaning her eyes could be dark blue or indigo and she wore purple clothes like Daenerys to make them seem purple Edric Dayne - has pale blond hair and again blue eyes that may seem purple Gerold Dayne - silver hair streaked with black (meaning one parent had black hair) and dark eyes that seemed purple And no Dayne other than them has Valyrian features Dyanna Dayne - common hair (brown/black?) and common eye color Arthur Dayne - no Valyrian features Allyria Dayne - no Valyrian features Lord Dayne - brother of Arthur and Ashara - no Valyrian features So those three are the outliners of the family

@@allyriastark3508Strangely enough though, is that house Dayne is usually described as fair hair and skinned. Very odd considering they’re Dornish.

So after a quick examination of the other comments I didn't see anyone else ask the question, so I will. Everything lines up so well that I really don't doubt this theory, but the only question that still remains for me is where did the great empire of the dawn get fire wyrms? Maybe they settled or had an outpost in valyria, we know next to nothing about this ancient people. We think they settled sothoryos with yeen and so had access to wyverns but where did their access to fire wyrms come from? Maybe there are more volcanoes with fire wyrms in the east that we don't know about but the only place we know they inhabited was valyria. So does that mean that the great empire of the dawn settled valyria first? If so wouldn't they literally be valyrians? Its a small distinction but you mentioned how the great empire of the dawn got access to wyverns but not the fire wryms and it left me wondering. I'd very much like your opinion on the technicality. Also there are still questions concerning the dragon bond, maybe a video that centers on it specifically? If the people of the Great empire of the dawn did settle valyria but were still not "valyrian" then what sets the difference? Presumably if dragons were made by the great empire of the dawn then the people did not have the dragonbond yet? Or was the dragonbond developed even as the dragons were? Did the dragonbond need to bred into men so they could be controlled and that's the defining trait of a valyrian? Lastly there are a lot of comments suggesting that the great empire of the dawn got its name by bringing the dawn, ending the long night, with the birth of dragons. I like that theory, even if it's not true it's badass. You seem to comment on videos long after they are released, could you take a moment to consider my questions?

Also a thought, since dragons were said to come from the shadow, presumably assai. As the heart of darkness maybe assai is the birthplace of blood Magic which of course was needed to birth dragons.

The outpost was yeen and valyria, this video is just to get show watchers up to speed. The full theory is covered in secret origins of dragons parts I and II videos. Specifically part II.
