Finally, this game will put an end to the misbilief that the Templars are evil. Ever since AC2 came out everyone thinks that and even though 3 and 4 fixed the issue seemingly no one cares about that. People should learn that Templars and Assassins are fighting for the same thing, only with different methods. Anyway, looking forward to the game.

Yeah but the difference is how they go about it. They explain how the assassins believe in the people freedom to find there own way and the Templars believe the only way the people can see the truth is by making them see it by any means necessary, no matter who gets in the way

Actually the templars in ac4 WERE evil. Torres at least. The biggest evidence is that when all tha templars gave their blood in the vials to commit to the order torres didn't give his own blood so that he will have the upper hand in the templar order and no one can use the observatory against him
Very true... but i cannot kill Adewale... He was my favourite character in AC 4... and i loved the freedom cry DLC with him as the main character... i don't ant him to die...
Yeah, i kind of wish that they went with Shays story and characters, and the new mechanics of AC Unity like stealth mode and character customization... Plus naval combat... that was the best thing in AC 4!

I kinda wish Ubisoft would have saved Unity for next year, polished it completely, made it a perfect game, and devoted more resources to Rogue for this year. This game's story seems amazing. Better than Unity's relatively unknown cast. Its like a 2nd sequel vs. a new IP. I wish I had never seen any of Unity's gameplay (which looks stellar) so that Rogue wouldn't be spoiled. hard to go back when Unity is going to be so good.
The Templars' side of the coin feels so dark and spooky. I loved completing those Glyphs in Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood, they had so many innuendos and were so fascinating. Mixing real life photographs and documents with Assassin mitology was fantastic, I hope they bring it back sometime.
They showed it in the story of haytham. They won't show it cause Shay didn't know Haytham then. Haytham was a child when his father died. It was burch. They probably will show burch's death though.
People telling this is better than Unity are just people who doesn't have a PC/PS4/XBone. Simple, you have next gen: You are into Unity You have old gen: You are into Rogue You have both: You can be exited for whatever you want without judging them because you haven't played them yet.

I dunno I have a PC but I will admit Unity's story is REALLY looking like AC2 and AC3 with some differences, I will admit the whole uniting thing seems interesting but as of now Rogue's story is way more interesting and seeing what happens to certain characters we have met in previous games is really cool.
I'm not really interested in either of these. Ubisoft have exhausted all my trust and hope. As a PC gamer, I do think that this looks a bit better, although I don't know if it's adding much over AC4.
I hear you man, having Haytham back! Adewale as old and Achillies as Young! Even that is enough to make me look forward to this game! But anyway, the story sounds and looks epic! I just hope that Haytham has the same voice actor!

Same here! This will be the third and final installment of the Kenway Saga. I love the way Ubisoft is playing with us too, haha. It's definitely going to be hard fighting against some of our favourite characters like Achilles and Adewale, especially after playing AC IV and Freedom Cry :'(
so Achilles was the Mentor of the Assassin Brotherhood in the colonies, and Shay will hunt the most important members of the assassins, which would lead to that deteriorated state in AC III? ............................i want this game :3! Haytham, Adewale and Achilles will appear >:D
According to the database on AC3 the Aquila was the ship that chased Haytham's ship and faked its death, then after having minor repairs it became the flagship to the assassin navy until it got ambushed by a fleet of Templar (or British) ships then ran a ground and got dragged back to the bay at the Homestead and deteriorated. Maybe it is Shay who ambushes it. Also it seems that the Homestead gets attacked by Templars and all the remaining assassins are killed except Achilles, the Templars saw him as a broken old man and spared him if he leaves the Brotherhood, maybe Shay was there too.

Honestly I'm more hyped for Rouge than I am for Unity. Sure Unity will have much better gameplay mechanics than Rouge since they've been using pretty much the same mechanics since AC: Brotherhood, but Rouges story looks to be more enticing than Unity. Playing from the other side of the coin and getting a better perspective of the main antagonists point of view will be a nice change of pace. I really don't like how Rouge seems to be just a complete clone of Black Flag, but the story will make it worth the purchase. I'm not going to get it for the last gen consoles since they're going to make a next gen port of it next year; I'll just wait it out.
Shay and his story look more interesting than every single assassin and their stories in the series. My favourite Assassin games are the chapters of the "American-trilogy": AC3, AC4 and AC: Freedom's Cry. Hopefully this will be a worthy ending for this part of the Assassin saga.
For the last time, you're not a bad guy. The Assassins and Templars are not good and evil. They're both sides of the same coin. They both want peace, they just try to achieve it through different ways.
It's good to play a game from the Templar's perspective, I'm also looking forward to the book! This must be one of the most interesting stories so far and I can't wait. All of the Assassin's Creed games have been good so far but AC II is still one of my favourites, but this is extremely interesting :D
Ohhhh, that's make sense! You see that Shay's best friend is Arno's father and in the end, I can see happening that he will escape from Shay and went to hide in France where Shay can't find him. You see in Assassin's Creed Unity Story Arno as child found his real father lying on the floor was murder by Shay.
That could make sense. Liam, Shay's friend, could very well be Arno's father. he would also be in his 40s and 50s around the time of Unity so its very possible.

This game is going to be amazing, Gameplay wont be as good as Unity or Graphics, but Story will be much better, like you cant even compare them, Another Sea game will be alright, as long as they keep it orginal, and hope you get choice between single or dual weapons, think you do!

I don't understand people complaining about playing a Templar. This game had me so excited to play a Templar character. Come on people...just enjoy it.
I hope they will have a DLC pack in this game, and if they do, I hope they bring Connor back because I think they need to end the story with the Kenway saga and to bring Shay down once for all. It would be cool to see Connor again and to Fight Shay in one last battle, that would be awesome.
Honestly in a way his path wasn't entirely wrong. He made bad choices but he was trying to protect people. But turning against the creed and killing assassins wasn't rights. Also he saved Achilles life. Achilles is only crippled he could be dead then no one would be able to train Connor. Shay acted on what he felt was right. No one can blame him.

Ever since AC2 everybody has been brainwashed into thinking the Assassins are the good guys and the Templars the bad guys. Achilles was one of the most evil people in the AC Universe. Putting the entire world at risk to find a potential weapon that would aid him in grabbing more power, then after Haytham and Shay prove him wrong he ignores everything that happened and remains silent about the whole ordeal to Connor, making him kill his own father. He used Connor for his own vengeance. And the irony is that Shaun Hastings, the guy that most of these AC2 fans love so much, is known to be a Templar sympathizer.
What I don't get is, from what the trailer shows, he joins the Templars because he was made to 'slaughter innocents' by the Assassin's. I'm sure there's more to it but don't the Templars not give a shit about innocent people themselves, their idea is to control them anyway.
They do in general, but Haytham Kenway is much more compassionate in his early years. More compassionate than Connor ever was, certainly. An of course there's more to it. :P
They do care about them but they think the best way to protect them is to control them thus those who don't want to be controlled are killed to 'protect' the rest of them aka they were dumb
Splinter I think Shay's situation maybe in the case of 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone', he doesn't care what principle or philosophy each side hold, he care that in this particular mission, the Assassin cost too many innocent life, and that blood is on his hand too.I really hope at the end they don't pull the twist 'Oh! It's actually the Templar pulling string behind that massacre all along!', it'll be too cliche and ruin the whole moral-grey area.
Don't worry, the story is going to make sense. It's not like Ubisoft made a poll asking players what they wanted for the next game and people answered: playing as a templar and then they spend 5 minutes developing a story....ohh wait, that's what they did.

Achilles will be in this title... mah nigga, one of the reasons that rogue is more interesting than unity, or what it seems, is certainly the story, first AC game in the series, you play as a templar, not a regular templar, but also a former member of the assassin's order, a traitor, or as he claims, he have seen the flaws of that order, and he decided to turn against the assassin's by all means, this plot is SEXY.
Templars are not inherently evil people. Only certain sects like the Italian Templars for example had some bad people running the show there. However, the Assassins also can have corrupt and immoral members as Rogue will probably show us. I really like this direction Ubisoft is going by blurring the lines between who is right/wrong.
MontroSSxUSA Not 'some bad people', Renaissance Templar is MOSTLY run by bad people, the unlockable file in ACR even state that the Abstergo themselves are admit that the Renaissance are a 'dark age of Templar' with most member are corrupt, greedy, and stray from a true purpose of the order.However, this does show that even with that abomination generation, Templar still manage to get back to their path in colonial era(AC3....and to be honest, the East Indian Templar in AC4 does seem like a decent people too, the Grand Master himself even against the idea of slavery.), so it's just like Haytham said...."Even when your kind appears to triumph. Still we rise again. It is because the Order is born of a realization. And THIS is why the Templars will never be destroyed."

Umm Hitler is a templar in the AC universe, he created a copy of himself with a Piece of Eden and faked a suicide, but was killed by an assassin waiting outside his bunker. It's in the AC wiki. The world war scenario has become too common for games, COD, sniper elite and sooooo many more games based on this era, and i'm not sure how the game would work with guns as the primary weapons. It's your opinion if you like that timeline, but i personally prefer the events before guns beacme mainstream
It would be cool, but there are some issues. - a WW2 game would be so cliche and the genre is so overdone anyway - Would just become a 3rd person shooter and lose a lot of AC's identity - There are people still alive from WW2 that probably wouldn't appreciate a game publicizing the Nazi's and Hitler etc. Other games have though so who knows.
Doesn't make sense at all, then why is the assassin creed demolished when you play AC 3?? I personally think Shay will later move to France and become the next templar grandmaster! In AC Unity story trailer shows an old bearded Templar grandmaster, i believe that man is Shay himself.
Fizzy332 The devs said this game will take place between 1752 and 1761. This coincides with the period when Haytham was establishing the Templar presence in the Colonies. This game will shed light on the events during the time gap between Haytham and Connor's story in AC3, showing how Shay helped the Templars dismantle the Assassins. Maybe Shay is the reason why Achilles needs a cane to walk in AC3.
Sanguiluna I really find it really weird that Shay was never mentioned abit in AC3 I mean he was the reason why the templars took over america, like how can you avoid that? Did you guys know that Elise from Unity is Shay's daughter? So when we hear that the Templar Grand Master (Shay) was murdered, all you assassin fans can rejoice at the demise of Shay...! :p I actullay think of the Templars and Assassins as Jedi and Sith. While the Jedi are the good guys, the Templars are the so on so "Bad Guys" and try to fudge everyone up. And, like the Sith, the Templars, always get back on thier feet and some how always get thier arsches kicked because the Assassins are supposed to be the good guys so they're supposed to win every time. Well then, Rouge is supposed to be Revenge of the Sith.....ALRIGHT ACHILLES IS OBI-WAN AND CONNOR IS LUKE SKYWALKER. To me, anyone who didn't play the first game, won't really get this, because it's made evident in the first Assassin's Creed, that the Assassins were just as evil as the Templars, when Al Mualim himself was a part of the Templar order, and misled the Assassins. The Templars did not mislead, their followers knew what they were getting themselves into. Most AC Players started at AC2 from my experience, cos' that's when the AC Franchise BOOMED (E3 anyone?)
Bruce Wayne Assassin's Creed didn't show Assassins as evil as Templars, it simply didn't show Templars as the evil guys, it didn't have things like conspiracies as much as II and stuff like pieces of Eden, while in II and III their ideologies were more expanded and how the Assassins were focused on freedom and Templars on order which makes people that the Templars want power and to deny the world from its freedom while they have the same goals except from some Templars(like Torres) who actually used the Templars to achieve power

Al Mualim: The Templars and Assassins both want peace and freedom, but where we conflict is on how we attain this, the Assassins would seek to bring this about by the transfer of knowledge and by more peaceful means, whereas the Templars seek to control humanity and belittle foreign views and opinions to get there. This is the difference between the Templars and Assassins. AC2/3 retconned this quite a lot, by stating the Templars just want to control, even when we get peacetime, as the present-day shareholders of Abstergo Industries want to control the world. So the Templars either have an internal problem now, or it's a 100% retcon, where the views of the templars have been changed.

razgriz821 Shay could still beat Achilles to his knee and let him live to see the fall of the Colonial Assassin, while the Colonial Templar rise to power and actually do something productive to the society that doesn't involt bombard the town with a mortar canon.

razgriz821 I really hope they wouldn't go that round, since this is supposed to be a chance to witness another side of the same coin(as they keep saying in the interview). If they make Shay turn back to the Assassin, or reveal that everything is the Templar setting up all along..., that would be absurd, because it would make the Templar the villain again, just like any other game before. I didn't even ask for the ending that make the Templar look like a true hero or savior, it could be the ending where Shay spare Achilles life out of regret for killing all of his former comrades, but he still stick with the Templar nonetheless, because from his point of view, the Templa are the lesser of the two evil in this conflict. Just a 'bitter true' if you wish.
Have u seen what the Templars did to Clay Kazmerk and Daniel Cross? U can't seriously still view them as the better of the two....the Templars loyalty to each other is as fickle as water.
honestly the most fun i ever had in a video game , the weapons the ship the treasure hunting ,more fun than skyrim with mods ,sad thing once you finish it there is nothing to do and there is no cool dlcs for it ,but all and all best game ever

I don't see the point of people complaining about the games, Ubisoft is not gonna roll back on this project. If you don't like it, don't play it, don't even watch it if you won't even play and give the game a chance instead of blindly hating it. I'm not gonna judge the game because of a templar protagonist, i'm gonna play it first. Whining in the comments......

Wow, I love Haytham Kenway. He looks handsome in this game. Also his gorgeous voice, o how I miss his British accent, perhaps the biggest drop bomb trailer of AC Rogue yet. A must play game first before Unity.
The templars and assassins basically have the same goal.Peace...the templars believe people should be ruled over,on the other hand, assassins believe in freedom of the people. Both are justified in their own right,

Seeing as Rogue tells the story of what happened between the end of Haytham's story and the beginning or Connor's story in AC3, I think this is going to be a great game and will likely redeem the underwhelming plot of AC3.
I don't care what ANYONE say's this game look's awesome. My only complaint is re-using a lot of Edward's finishing moves(I've only seen two that were Shay's). Other than that this game look's great, and I will be getting it.
