So many people praise Black Flag but I just cannot wrap my head around why anyone could think that game was even remotely good. It was one of the worst gaming experiences I've ever had. And I've played world of warcraft for over 15 years.
I agree with both of you. It took me around 160 hours to get the plat too, and I also played the Wrath of the Druids dlc, which I liked a lot actually, even if I was burnt out. I didn't bother with the Paris dlc yet. I needed a long break after Valhalla. I enjoyed Odyssey 10x more. But this Valhalla burnout was something else like I never felt before. After this, I played Ghost of Tsushima (awesome game) but after those two back to back, I stopped playing anything for like 2 months lol.
This looks cool but as you guys said , I also got the plat and the burnout on getting that plat was mind numbing I just can't get excited to go back to it
@@TanoGamess I think we all need a good long break from this game. It was mentally exhausting to achieve this plat. I didn't even bother with those challenges or other trophies they came out with, or those Tombs. Its just way too much. I think most of the burnout grind was probably spent in Jotunheim and Asgard. Trying to find the witch in that f'n tree.. lol ugh don't even wanna be reminded of that.
I just can't play these games anymore, I loved Origins but then it stopped being about Assassins and playing with Stealth entirely after Odyssey. The large, empty maps full of lame side quest that offer nothing, mediocre hack n slash combat and story that hasn't gone anywhere since Desmond died has killed it for me now. Feels like a chore to play these games now smh.
valhalla is very heavy on assassins and has massive lore implications with the present day story. of course, youd have to play it to know what youre talking about.
The problem with changing up the look of the dwarves from the traditional stout bearded look that we've come to expect over the years is that now they just look like halflings or a human with dwarfism.
@@MarkFilipAnthony Maybe not, but like I said it's what we've come to expect from them. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with their 'new look' I'm just saying it doesn't scream dwarf in most peoples minds. So will take some getting used to, before we associate that form as a dwarf since everything we've known beforehand is in stark contrast to that.
Easily. Ubisoft's sales of Ragnarok are predicated on how many people actually enjoyed Valhalla. And that's not many people. Without fundamentally changing the game, they aren't going to get those people to come back. There is no hype at all for this "DLC." And rightfully so. The only thing worse then Ubisoft's games these days is their work environment.
@@Entreped I disagree ..... If the game wasn't popular then they wouldn't have set a new record for microtransaction sales ..... Don't get me wrong I dislike the game but sadly it's bringing in the bucks for Ubisoft so don't expect anything to change in the next game ..... other than NFTs being crammed down our throats
@@Entreped You kidding right? Valhalla is the most successful AC game by FAR and the second more profitable game in Ubi's history. I can understand if you don't like it. But do not try to make your opinion a global fact because it isnt. In my opinion Valhalla is an amazing game. And judging by the sales, most people agree
If you trust Ubisofts Sales reports, a report thats suppose to show off how successful they are to potential investors, as a means of knowing a games popularity or quality, you are missing the point and being taken advantage of. Sales dosent equal playtime or even popularity for that matter, I bought DL2 a week before Elden Ring, haven't touched it since, a sale all the same, for a game I am not currently playing or enjoying. Microtransactions is an even more laughable metric to rly on, their a system ment to incentives the biggest spenders to spend more, you actully cannot look at that as a popularity metric, unless popularity to you means how big the whales playing a game are.
man i can't deny this does look cool epic and all but i really miss the more grounded AC stories based on historical events... AC always had the sci fi element but this is just way to far into fantasy realm... big monsters godlike superpowers.
I skipped Valhalla, had enough after Odyssey. These games are grindy, repetitive, full of pointless side quest and at the same time the story hasn't gone anywhere since Desmond died.
This dlc isn't worth 40 quid. It only deals with Sutr in one place. Theres a reference at the end to actual Ragnarok when the big battle occurs but the dlc ends? I was expecting this to be actual Ragnarok covering the entire story not just the beginning of it!
Honestly, I think Elden Ring does the fantasy RPG AND stealth assassin gameplay better than Assassin's Creed does... AC just feels like a mobile game nowadays. Or like a fake game you'd see someone play in a movie. Valhalla felt like it was made by a neural network that watched 3 seasons of Vikings.
They want the Valhalla experience to feel like a “theme park?” For a game trying to tell a saga where, ya know, plot elements and a cohesive structure are important, that analogy feels completely at odds with the game entirely. It would be just as baffling for CD Projekt Red to say they intended The Witcher 3’s experience to be “like a theme park.” Obviously Witcher is superior to Valhalla in storytelling and pacing, but both games strive to tell a lengthy, character-driven story. Oh Ubisoft…
Hasn't this been Ubisoft's design approach to open world games for like 6 years now? A massive map with "activities". Maybe have some limits of "have to be over 100cm for the ride". Also put the map of the park every 5 meters so people won't get lost. Have maybe like 6 rides, but dress then up differently and you get 30.
It might have helped Valhalla, if ubisoft just let players choose their gender rather then crying sexist to anyone who wants to play the main game as a man. The game is divsive and full of hate, just like the company.
My thoughts exactly! Unfortunately nothing will look so op on consoles, that are not exlusives. I'll pass on that, GoW is coming this year that's enough for norse mithology...
@@Pyovali 2 completely different games and elden ring takes nothing away from HFW. HFW does what elden ring doesn't and vice versa. And if you want to talk about looks, HFW blows elden ring away visually. From soft games are loved for their challenging gameplay, not for the visuals.
Normal fans know it's still Assassin's creed because they know the rules and lore of this universe. Others need to stop thinking that they are "real" fans if their Assassin's creed ends only with assassins.
@@yangus2122 I personally believe the assassins creed series ended after the first game, and was replaced with a knockoff, I stopped playing the series entirely after 3.
Is this a standalone game? Can I jump right into this without playing the main game? I tried the main game back in 2020 for like 10-12 hours, didn't like it and uninstalled, but this looks fun though.
Yes ...... $40 ... And to make matters worse the next DLC will be a stand alone game and I bet they charge a full $60 for it .... Personally I would have been OK with a Season Two pass with both for $40 but $80 - $100 for two more DLCs .... no way

if this game had gameplay characteristics of for example Elden Ring then it would be amazing, unfortuneatly its just another bland predictable grindy ubisoft game
I wish Ubisoft just drop the AC title, sell it to Sony or something and continue make games without the AC brand. Company like Sony could utilize the AC branding better than Ubisoft. AC Origin supposed to tell the story of the first Assassin right, but its the last AC game for most AC fans.
For real fans who understand the Assassin's creed universe, Assassin's creed continues and they are waiting for the continuation of the story. And for those who associate Assassin's creed only with assassins, the new parts aren't Assassin's creed. Besides Ubisoft, no one will be able to understand what the essence of Assassin's creed is and won't be able to make a decent game.
i wonder when AC turns into those japano slashgames with mega dumb effects wholfe fighting for the kids to love. cause this dlc went exactly in this direction.
The burnout with Odyssey and now Valhalla is just to to much it makes me quit gaming for months I just cannot. To much is sometimes TO MUCH. besides even I who have played them all find it all to get to confusing now the plots are to much. Mess.
They need to go back to Desmond miles and just reboot this series. Make it so his entire arch isn’t overshadowed by the long past non existent 2012 event….like something that isn’t so dated. Also update the mechanics and focus on realism and how it would actually Feel to basically time travel. Oh man I could go for that.
Unfortunately that's just not conducive to Ubisoft selling MTX packs. And with Valhalla raking in 1 billion dollars thanks in large part to those packs, Ubisoft has ZERO reason to alter course. All they care about is making the most money possible with the most minimal effort. And that includes abysmal working conditions.

I can already tell this is a weak watered down rip off of Shadow of War and shadow of Mordor. Save your money and just play those games, I promise you they’ll be more entertaining. It pains me knowing that Assassins Creed turned into *this*
Real fans don't have any pain because they know lore and the rules of the Assassin's creed universe, unlike you, who can only have Assassin's creed about assassins

@@yangus2122 but the basics are assassinations and the creed. And that is not there. Assassin's Creed 1 didn't had the ISU. Assassin's Creed 2 and brotherhood had the ISU at the end. Revelations didn't had the ISU. 3 had them, a little bit 4 had bart roberts (kind of an ISU). Unity didn't had the ISU. Syndicated didn't had the ISU. And since Origins things are going wrong.

And after everyone got tired of this confrontation between assassins and templars, Ubisoft decided to focus on other important aspects of the Assassin's creed universe, which weren't given much attention in the previous parts. What's wrong with the fact that Ubisoft doesn't want to stand still, but wants to develop its franchise?
