I want to see an Assassin's Creed where you play as a Templar who knew his wrongdoings and defected to join the Assassins. Let's call that game: Assassin's Creed Redemption.
@Kylian MMMboppé He only became a Templar for the money. He was never a Templar at heart ya know? He was a pirate before he joined the Assassins after he defected the Templars.

I think it's funny how me and a friend of mine whom I've known for 9 years, are have been writing novels video games and anime and our favorite is Assassins Creed. I wrote about a Templar becoming an Assassin and named it that very same title. Ofc this isnt published but just something we enjoy doing and writing to let our group read and enjoy.
The colonial brotherhood was terrible if you look past the rose tinted glasses . I think thats what makes those games so good - it kind of makes you look at the larger picture. Each side has their occasional bad streak and clouded goals. It depends on what’s right for the time in history.
You cannot blame Shay for betraying the assassins. Because what happened in Portugal was a major violation of the first tenet of the Creed. Never kill innocents. They would not listen to Shay that meddling with those Precursor sites would cause massive death and destruction. This game shows a side of the Templars we never got to see. That the Templars are not always the bad guys that we saw during the era of Altair and Ezio. Now, if Altair and Ezio were in the same predicament as Shay, they would've done the same thing. Shay is more of a remorseful assassin. To be honest, following the Assassins in the time of Achilles Davenport is like following the Templars in the time of the Borgia. Yes, what makes the Templars the bad guys is that they want to control humanity. But the Assassins can also be blinded by their belief of freedom. Freedom without control can lead to chaos. Just like oppressive order can lead to chaos.
Shay actually did them a favour. He made the Assassins stronger and paved the way for a strong, heroic and honest man to be their leader. In a way he's responsible for Connor becoming an Assassin.
Shay didn’t betray anyone. They betrayed him. But yes I agree. Bayek, Altair, Ezio, and Edward Kenway would’ve all been disgusted with the way that Achilles and the Colonial assassins were operating and would’ve sided with Shay

The real assassin's Creed is never thinking about which side he joined even if it's templar.....probably that's the reason shay is joining templar is because he is thinking big picture
No, not really. In Rogue, Shay believes that the assassins are way to arrogant to notice the damage they're dealing to the world by disrupting places containing pieces of eden. His ideology throughout the game slowly shifts to the one the templars seem to have.
I still love how Shay looks disheveled and seems kind of purposeless when he's with the assassins, the moment he's away from them he tries to adopt a more refined look even going so far as to shave his beard and tie his hair back. He's found a purpose and if he has to cut all ties with his adopted family then so be it.
