The thing is the protagonist runs like a 100kg/220lbs dude whereas in AC unity and before they ran so swiftly like a 70kg/160lbs dude

Ah so the usual problem, the protagonist is heavy because rpg engine.

If they removed that weird delay before every jump it'd be much better!

its the saddest thing to see a series with 12+ games peak in the first, and progressively get worst with every entry. Assassins creed has degressed slowly in different ways across games from narrative to combat to stealth, but the most standout feature of them all is parkour.

Mirage parkour will be a lot better if he does parkour faster.

I honestly think that AC1 parkour is smoother than the parkour in AC4

In mirage’s parkour, the platform from which basim jumps off seems sticky, if you know what I’m saying. There’s an odd pause over there which, though logical, doesn’t feel as good as instantly gliding along these like in previous games.

the best way to put it is while altair has rythym and jumps like 1,2,3, Basil has no rythym and jumps in a 1,1,1 motion

Honestly when u change the controls to OG controls for mirage it makes the entire game feel Like a AC1 remaster

Old games were challenging. We had to think before we act. But now only a button press is sufficient to do cool parkour

Take it like this the team behind mirage had limited budget cuz it was dlc and it was allredy builded on it. There was not much they could do. Soo the decision making was made a very good.

Basim looks so goddamn heavy like hes wearing full plate armor even though hes literally just wearing robes made of cloth and leather. I miss how graceful and agile parkour used to look like, almost as if your character was floating from surface to surface

Big ups to the controller though, he actually utilized the original's parkour system correctly. Of course AC1 is slow as hell if you travel strictly vertically. You need to look sideways, diagonally, and for steps to reach your goal the fastest you can.

They need to add back and side ejects that you can do whenever and actually make the back eject useful

It's amazing how little they have improved.

I'm really hoping Mirage was just to see how much the old formula was wanted and now they're going to remake this.

Ac 3 , Ac Black flag, and Origins has the best systems tbh… there not to old and such perfect games don’t understand why no one talks about these ones so underrated

AC1 is slow next to AC2/Revelations/Unity, but it was brilliant at the time. It was so cool at the time to climb almost everything, at any angle. You felt like a confused rock climber at first, and then a badass nimble assassin once you got the controls down. All I'm seeing from Mirage is the RPG engine, and some environmental tools to traverse more parkour-like, not actually any classic movement mechanics. #Goingbacktoourroots PFFFT

I feel like the newer assassins creeds are more unrealistic with the gaps between jumps. Those gaps are Huge when compared to real life parkour

It's weird that no one commented about his robe gliding with his bare hands, friction would've injured him badly

Do you think by going back to its roots means that Mirage has the ability or option to sprint and parkour like in the first Assassins Creed? Using right trigger and A to sprint while you free run using the Xbox for example.

There better be a dedicated Free Running/Sprint button like in the pre RPG games.

The only way I can describe new AC parkour is that the game stops to let you appreciate the animation before moving on. Parkour in previous AC games flows better

Even though Altair has slow climbing, I think it’s more accurate to reality, just my opinion

Mirage does look really good, but why does Basim look like he's lightly jogging the whole time

That rope glide was his last one, his hands are useless now.

Mirage still looks so slow and bulky. I hope we atleast get animation cancellation, good side eject and back eject. And not to just hold down the forward button.

Mirage is pretty close but... It's 16 years later: They should be LEAGUES ahead, not barely skimming by! That's what I'm honestly expecting the rest of the game to be: Back to basics... Literally.

The only thing I think they should improve on in Mirage is the time in between the jumps. Though I think it it more realistic.

AC2- Brotherhood is my preferred parkour style. It may not be as good as AC3-4 or Unity's but sometimes the old ones has its charms.

It looks like AC1 graphics maxed out on modern PC but ACM is downscaled.

Just based solely on Mirage’s story…might as well have just made an AC1 remaster.

Mirage still using ac origins animation.. The difference is now we can experience the whole parkour system because they narrow the building more closer to each other

See the thing Mirage is really held back by its game engine being the one from Valhalla. If it was from the ground up it would solve my biggest problems with the game. Being the slow contextual parkour and the sub-par combat. Unity still has the best graphics and core gameplay,AC1 the best atmosphere and soundtrack. Syndicate has the best assassination missions. Mirage came close on that last one. Assassin's Creed with Unity's parkour and assassination like the new Hitman games would be perfect.

Is Basim didn't stop at every step and was faster it would clearly be one hell of a parkour

They somehow made the parkour more stuttery and slow on the newer game
