I find Shay to be one of the more interesting assassins and Templars. The thought and lingering doubt that goes into so many of his decisions makes him almost fated for the trajectory he takes in the game.

1:08 feels bad man he lifted his arm to ask for help and instead got a rifle

Very misleading. They give you a damn nerf gun in the game... Not a rifle

This was my favorite game in the series by far.

Honest Trailer guy at the end?

The only things that I didn't like about Rogue: - The fact that the templar outfit doesn't come with a hood like the trailer/cover art suggest - the fact that the rifle is just a blowpipe and doesn't have an actual gun function

The simple symbolism of Altair as the soul of the Assassins is awsome. If English teachers used these instead of Romeo and Julliet I’d be a lot more intrested. The burning fire might resemble guilt of turning away from brotherhood, but when it turns to ice (the opposite of fire) it shows how it’s not guilt but opposite of it, honor, honor to betray not for personal gain but for redemption. The assassin brotherhood were strong at the time, but Altair looking desperate here shows Shay’s view. That no matter how right the Assassins think they were, they were actaully horribly wrong and deceived. Throwing the sword away and pulling the hidden blade in and using a gun could mean letting go of the old ways and turning to modern ways to solve problems. It actually also has roots in “everything is permitted”, he doesn’t kill him following tradition, he just kills him. That’s the core of the creed, to not be bounded to guidlines and getting the job done by any means necessary. The fact that he turned his back to the brotherhood and joined the order solely because he believes is the right thing to do also reflects on “Nothing is true, everything is premitted”. A cunning Templar doing exactly what the Assassin’s Creed requires him to do so, ironic. Honestly there is so much to learn from video games, so so much, but the media is blind to it.

Look at this badass. Too many people are crying over the fact that he kills Assassins. Well too bad, thanks to the Brotherhood innocents have died. Shay FTW!

I cant BELIEVE all the negative reactions! When I saw this trailer, I could hardly stop myself from screaming out loud: YESSSSS. Finally we get a main character thats on the templar side. ( I am not a big fan of the templars mind you. A good templar is a dead templar ) But i've been dying to find out how things are through their eyes. I am really pleased that Ubisoft listened to their fans and I am very VERY thankful.

This is my favorite AC game because it stands out. Being the templars instead of assassins is a very unique concept. The Ending of the game is very close to each other with the beginning of AC Unity. Other AC Games just end it there and you get to play as a different character 35+ Years later or even 150+

This game was awesome. Shay was a great character. Well he was better than the corrupted Assassins in that game

It’s pretty realistic, being an assassin isn’t easy. Makes sense that a couple of assassins would’ve turned Templar

I played unity first and then just finished rogue yesterday. I was jumping and screaming at the end to see Arno and Elise while Shay was about to do whatever he planned to to (avoiding spoilers to whoever haven't played), that was such a good connection to these two games.

I want an entire game where we play as Haytham

I wish his templar outfit had that hood in the actual game. I read online that having the outfit hoodless would represent where his allegiance is at the current time, don't get me wrong the outfit is really awesome by itself, I just think it would be pretty cool to have a hood to go with that outfit

The most underrated Assassin's Creed game!! Still my one of my favorites.

The game was an interesting take on the world, even if the story was predictable. I'd love to see them do another Templar take on the franchise and refine it a lot more.

This is my favorite part. Recently replayed this game. Shay and the game didn't deserve such hate. It's a pity that many people think that Shay is just taking revenge. He is much more interesting than just an embittered person. I want to learn more about his life, unfortunately, the game is too short.

first time seeing this i thought that was altair he was about to kill

Shay is the only Assassin who don't follow neither templer nor assassin. The most badass. He don't trust anyone.

The funny thing is that it has a lot better naval combat than the rest of the AC games. Puckle guns, fire barrels and the enemy ships boarding Morrigan really nailed it.

i really don't understand the hate, the game was fun and had a good story, i really like how you play as an ex assassin turned templar showing there are no true good guys, and it doesn't force you to be like "ASSASSINS BAD, TEMPLAR GOOD" no, it leaves it up for you to think, amazing concept and also well executed

Shay wasn't even the villain he was the victim turned savior.

I played Rouge first so when I played Unity I thought to myself DAMN, Arno’s is gonna hunt the killer of his girls father but not his own huh?

It's actually sad because the rifle he uses doesn't have a lethal bullet in game. It's like the blowdart of Edward.

Why is nobody talking about the moment when he shot the assassin? In the game that rifle only shoots grenades and darts so he either put the assassin to sleep or destroyed him Now that didn’t sound like a dart so I’m assuming shay turned that assassin into red paste

Amazing game! Shay is an incredible character. I just wish Ubisoft made the story of Rogue a bit longer or given Shay a sequel.

Shortest AC game i've played, just finished within 2 days. Shay is kinda relatable to me and the ending made me hyped for unity.A cool game without doubt but a short one. and ofcourse it felt like Black Flag in the begining but after Shay became a templar, the story lifted the game.

The funny part is the gun shay uses in this trailer is a silent air rifle in the game, not a loud carbine like the trailer suggests.

He looked great with the hood so that in the end he only lifts his neck.

This was one of the BEST AC game for me. We need more stories like this where some more Assassins realize how messed up Assassins were and chose to fight them instead of helping them.

Tbh, this was my first Assassin's creed game. I got introduce with this series when my friend showed me Assassin's creed III on his laptop. Since then, I wanted this game without pretty much no knowledge whatsoever. Now, I look behind the innocent and novice. The incompetent fool among those I called brothers. Then I followed my own creed and it let me to this path, the path more ahead from them, the path more strong and vivid. But I shall not stop until the one who question does. Not until I get more knowledge and the after. Not until I don't need to be on my knees like I used to and will make sure that never. The air is still. And I'm the hunter.

I always wanted a second Assassin's Creed rogue Ubisoft make it happen even if it's a new protagonist I think there's more to explore only side of the Templar order side more assassins turned Templar please

The Assassins in this game were real scum. I felt good killing all of them, with the exception of Adewale, that mission still stings

just replayed rogue this morning, such an amazing game!

[*No spoilers*] Just finished playing the game for the very first time. Absolutely amazing, Shay is a very likeable character. Even though I had to rage quit twice during ship battles I overall had a lot of fun. I'll definitely play it again. 😌

Shay could've had much more character development, his game was way too short. BUT his very concept and look remain some of the coolest in the series.

imagine connor and shay meeting the guy who kills half of the templars vs the guy who kills half of the assasins too bad that didnt happen

When i saw Shay walking at the beginig, i couldn't avoid remembering the Teaser of The Batman with the Red Lights

If you felt like that the assassins are too arrogant to listen or actual villains, its because abstargo aka the tramplers altered the memories to make shay and the templars look good
