@@IMdiogi11 I think op has an issue with just that option itself since Yasuke was not an actual samurai and just a retainer for about a year. Now tell me, on the subject of creative liberties, switch Yasuke from a black man to maybe aboriginal/maori/punjabi/native american/lebanese samurai. Do they feel a tad ridiculous? It is almost the same with having a black samurai as well, but now if he was an actual samurai then it would have been perfect, no controversies.

Japanese here. Yasuke was not a warrior equipped with such luxurious armor; his job was to carry Nobunaga's spear. Moreover, he started serving Nobunaga after Nobunaga had already almost completely defeated his formidable enemies across Japan, and aside from the final incident at Honnoji, he didn't have the chance to fight with a sword. Additionally, as many Japanese in this comment section have pointed out, it seems that the developers of this game cannot distinguish between Japan and China. It is sad that a globally influential series like AC depicts the history and culture of my country so inaccurately with such shallow knowledge.

Dude, the game is developed by contemporary neo-liberal, left-wing activists from the West. It could've been much worse, they could've made medieval Japan look like downtown LA. By using media products they're trying to do one thing - make you accept immigrants from 3rd world countries, and guilt-trip you into thinking that you owe them something. It has been happening in Europe for almost a decade. No-go zones in Sweden, France, Germany, Belgium.

Don't worry, I won't buy this game. I'm a big fan of Assassin's Creed and I've always wanted a game set in Japan, it's always been the game I've wanted the most. I wanted to play with a Japanese man, a legendary samurai, not an African man whose story doesn't even have enough material to support his life. We're not going to buy this. This goes against what real fans expect from the franchise. If they don't make the fans happy, leave it alone, my friend. I'm sure many Afro-descendants will buy it (oh, they won't buy it either. Because Afro-descendants also have their own history and if they were to be represented, they would want a hero from their people and not someone who went to Japan and most of them don't even know who he is and the story doesn't have material to support his deeds). Let the wokes buy it. (Wokes don't play video games, haha) They won't buy it either. This game is already a flop.

@@PapalagiBlue Clearly this game is for entertainment purposes and is only using historical figures in a fantasy setting type game. That’s what assassins creed has been about. Because in real life, clearly there hasn’t been assassins and templars fighting a long war throughout history in countries such as Italy, England, France, Egypt and of course Japan. Look I’m not one to talk about anything Japanese because clearly I don’t understand the culture. But what I’m noticing is that a lot of people from other county has created unrealistic representations of other historical figures and counties that they themselves cannot fully understand either. And it never been a problem before, at least not in my view. I mean look at the (fate franchise) done by a Japanese companies, it takes legends and sometimes historical figures from other countries in a fantasy setting game and anime with its representation sometimes way off from what is typically known. But no one from other countries is offended. And I assume the people from Japan don’t see a problem with it either. What I’m trying to understand is that if this is truly a difference in culture that I’m not seeing that is making a lot of Japanese people offended by this game. Or if it just plain hypocrisy.

Yasuke had no honor. He ended his interactions in Japan, bu handing over his sword, and giving up, and while the people he fought alongside died, he was sent to the Jesuits because he was assumed to not kn ow what he was doing, and was only a slave. And Yasuke was happy to call himself a slave to save his skin.

侍が斬首するのは概ね次の2パターン。 ①自分の手柄の証明のため。雑兵の首をいくら持って帰っても手柄にはならない。自分はこんな立派な人物と戦って勝ったんだ、と誇れる首だけを持ち帰る。 ②地面に座り頭を差し出した人の首を切り落とす、いわゆる介錯というやつ。コツは頸椎の隙間を狙って一振りで斬り落とすこと。理由は、長く苦しまずに一瞬で意識を失えるように。さらにいえば、切り落として地面に頭がぶつかると痛いから、首の皮一枚だけ残して膝の上に落ちるのが理想とされる。行為としては残虐かもしれないけど、当時の価値観においては紛れもなく敬意が含まれる行為だった。とっくに死んでいるのに踏みつけて破壊したり、斬った頭をそのまま捨てていくなんていうのは、いわゆる理想とされる武士道の形からはかけ離れた野蛮な行為に他ならない。弥助は、斬り捨てた相手に敬意はあったのかね？

多分あれは次のカットとのつながりの都合だと思いますよ。映像手法でイマジナリーラインっていうのがあって、弥助が画面の左ポジションで右を見てるように保つ必要があって、多分あのカット本来は普通に抜刀してる画だと思うですが、そのカットが逆で、強引に前後をつなぐために抜刀するアップで反転させているのだと思います。時間が無かったのかな？専用で持てなかったんでしょうね。

信長のペットという言い方よりも「信長の荷物持ちの奴隷」の方が外国人には分かりやすいようです。実際に宣教師の奴隷が信長に譲渡された体なので奴隷身分のままですし。外国人はペットという表現が気に入らないようでレイシスト呼ばわりしてくるので、史料にあるように奴隷で良いと思います。

@@Soleil-kf2qt true. I played it recently and its amazing. The game is so cinematic, the combat feels amazing once you get the hang of it. The characters are well written and likeable , the villain is cool and ruthless . Everywhere you move the camera it looks like a painting. Truly amazing game. It ran amazingly too, I am on linux with wine and played it at ultra at 60 fps on a rx 6600xt

The 五七の桐紋 is currently the symbol of the Japanese government, so I hate how this crest is used so flippantly in games like this. And the 織田木瓜 is under the control of the Oda clan and as you know cannot be used freely. Remember that it is an insult to treat these family crests carelessly, even if you have paid the usage fee.

In all honesty you're right Even since the first one there have been people who aren't good at stealth so they got good at combat. I prefer stealth and sometimes like to use combat, but I'm a sneaky boy at heart always. So glad it seems Ubi has known an AC set in Japan would be seen as one of their biggest games ever and now that they did it, they truly seem to have given it a lot of thought. Hopefully they had let the devs cook on this project and make it a magnum opus of a game for AC, for Ubi and for fans
