I actually don't think the story was bad. My only gripe is about the fact they *for some reason* removed the ability to *carry bodies* and to *whistle* to lure enemies. Other than that, it's definitely among the best games in the franchise in *my* opinion.

Ubi said that the two assassin's creeds to be released this year are going to have a mystery to be solved within the other game (unity solves rogue's mystery and rogue solves unity's mystery) so maybe shay killed arno's father.Because in the seven years war england fought france.

It took me 15 minutes to write that short... let's call it a poem based on incremental repetition, Certainly an amount of wasted time far inferior to the time I wasted watching trailers for the game. +peter canepa first off i agree he didn't exactly fight for the french revolution but rather Monsieur De Laserre...but you have to understand that he was extremely young when his father was killed. Although he loved his father dearly De Laserre was the one that brought him up, the one that gave him a home and the one that cared for him when he may have just ended up in an orphanage otherwise. He was the man that brought up Arno for the majority of his life. He was also the father of the girl he loved. Elise was everything to him. She was the one person he valued more than his own life. She was his everything and so he would do whatever it was to help her. Not to mention on top of all this he blamed himself for the De Laserre's death. When you blame yourself for something you try and do everything you can to put it right. in his mind to put it right was to avenge De Laserre Of course this doesn't make up for the fact that he says he's fighting for france in the trailer, but that's just probably why he didn't really dwell over his own father as much.

So what are you upgrading to mate?. Have you read any comments from the PS4 fanboys with their conspiracy theories?. Apparently the PS4 runs this game at 1600x900p to keep parity with XB1 because Ubisoft will somehow want everyone to have the same experience despite the PC version running with improved visuals, frame rate and resolution across the board?. So if Ubisoft is so worried about console "parity" where were they when Watchdogs was 900p on PS4 and 720p on XB1?. Ubisoft have never implemented parity for parity's sake, even last generation the 360 ran games at higher resolution than PS3.

***** Not really , the reality is that there is next to nothing between these GPU's. I mean ps4 uses a GPU very close to a 7850 and XB1 uses a GPU very close to a 7790 and when looking at benchmarks on PC these GPU's are able to run using the same resolution and graphics settings with the 7850 running around 10fps faster on average. So there is 10fps , 15fps at best performance delta between these GPU's when running the same visuals and resolution , so when you enhance the 7790 GPU with ESRAM like Microsoft has done you realise that performance difference will be tiny. The reality is that the game is taxing the hardware as it's running on a new engine just for PS4, XB1 and PC with last gen consoles getting a different Assassins Creed. So the reality is that the game will be taxing both consoles hardware but the XB1 will be more prone to frame rate drops. There really is not much between them and it shows now that Microsoft has updated it's SDK and gave developers back the GPU cycles and bandwidth reserved for Kinect.

***** Again though the difference isn't large enough. The reason why the XB1 was so behind at launch was because Microsoft reserved some GPU resources and bandwidth for Kinect. Their development SDK was also immature and developers were using Direcxt11 instead of coding to the metal. The PS4 uses a GPU near identical to 7850 and the XB1 uses a GPU near identical to 7790 now look at real world performance difference between those GPU's when used in a PC. www.tomshardware.co.uk/radeon-hd-7790-bonaire-performance,review-32655-3.html The real world performance difference across a multitude of different PC games is only 10fps or in other words the GPU PS4 uses , 7850 is 10fps faster which is NOTHING. Also keep in mind that the PC version of 7790 has far lower bandwidth VRAM than the XB1 version as Microsoft enhanced it with ESRAM so the difference will be even smaller still. Then you have the fact that the Jaguar CPU in XB1 is clocked higher than the Jaguar CPU in PS4 and lastly PS4 uses unified GDDR5 or Graphics Double Data Rate5 which is great for GPU's but not so much for CPU's as CPU's cannot use the extra bandwidth and are slowed down by the fact that GDDR5 has higher latencies or in other words it takes longer to start moving data around which is exactly why Microsoft went with DDR3 for the CPU and spent a large percentage of their transistor budget on ESRAM to increase the bandwidth for the GPU. In short there is next to nothing between them other than the fact that PS4 can render the visuals a few frames per second faster which means fuck all when running at 30fps. In other words , so what if PS4 is faster enough to run the game at 36fps because if you ran the game at 36fps it would cause horrible judder on 60hz TV's so better to cap it at 30fps like XB1 and suddenly you can't see the performance difference like you can when looking at the Tom's Hardware benchmarks above. I mean this won't be the first game to run at the same resolution on both consoles, Destiny already has and I am sure there is many others. The reality is that Ubisoft has no reason to gimp one for parity as it wouldn't benefit them in any way at all. Long before the end of this generation both consoles will struggle for even 1600x900p and it happens ever generation

Actually both run at 1600x900p and both are struggling to maintain 30fps which causes horribly unresponsive controls. It's not trolling to point out the performance of a game. Both consoles will start running more and more games at 900p and eventually games will run below 900p as it happens every console generation using the same hardware without upgrading.

JAGUARCD32X most games are 1080p on PS4. I've cancelled my pre order. I'll get lords of the Fallen and Dragon Age instead. I don't want games that are gimped due to marketing deals, thanks.

Baron Spamedi Yes most games were 1080p except the most demanding ones like say Battlefield4, Watchdogs, The Witcher3, Killzone SF multiplayer and so on You better get used to sub 1080p as a console gamer as you use the same hardware for 8 years without upgrading. The PS3 and 360 were advertised as 1080p gaming machines and at this stage last gen both the PS3 and 360 had 1080p games. Then when the generation started properly and games started taxing the hardware the resolution dropped to 720p and for the last 4 years of last generation most ambitious games ran below 720p with no anti aliasing with shimmering jagged edges everywhere. Frame rate also suffered, 30fps is already a compromise used to give hardware twice as long to render the image at the expense of adding latency to the controls or put another way , a delay between pushing buttons on the control pad and the time it takes to register in game. For the last 4 years games struggled with even 30fps frequently trailing along at 20fps or less during busy scenes where responsive controls are needed most. What did you expect, I mean you are using the same hardware for 8 years without freshening it up a little with a GPU upgrade. The reality is that the game taxes the hardware and it has nothing to do with "gimping " for parity because like you just said, you won't be buying it. So if Ubisoft did intentionally gimp it for parity with XB1 it would be pointless because any goodwill they got from XB1 gamers would be cancelled out by PS4 gamers thinking they aren't getting their monies worth, Nah , it's better just to play to each consoles strengths and if one version is better than the other consoles version then the blame lies with whoever designed the console and not the developer who is in the business of making money and not trying to make one console look as good as the other just to shut overzealous fanboys up.

They are clearly gimping it. The PS4 GPU can easily run this game at 1080p if the Xbox can run it at 900p. This is to do with the marketing deal MS has with Ubisoft for Unity and nothing else. For that reason, games which do make use of the PS4s more powerful GPU will get my money instead.

A five hundred dollars PC can't max everything out, with pc titles but it is guaranteed to run a game better than on console. 1080p, 60fps. The only reason consoles can run this game is because it's capped at 900p and 30fps, that's simply unacceptable when it comes to a PC title. What you find as a standard is different from ours, we always aim for 60fps, 120fps, and you're always satisfied with 30, what we find as old and inadequate is what you find "cinematic" and "next gen". Diego De Souza True the consoles this gen are very weak but i still think they are capable of more if optimized... Look at shadow of mordor, it runs at 1080p and looks almost like a true next-gen game. Arkham knight however is easily far above both that game and ac unity in graphics which is probably why it was delayed by so long, just to optimize the game and get the most out of each platform. I dont mind if the consoles have a weak looking version of acunity so long as it isn't downgraded for pc like watch dogs was. I dont mean to start a debate here but if a game has to look bad on consoles, developers should just leave it bad, but of course sony and microsoft spend a ton of money to bring the pc version in par with consoles which is bs... i have a lot of friends on consoles and even i still play on console but they all dont even care about the graphics, they should just leave the game how it has to be on consoles even if it must be downgraded for those consoles. Just don't downgrade it for pc.

A web site mostly known for taking original graphics heavy videos and downgrading them to allow them to be uploaded to their servers. And the last thing i'll tell you is that the developers themselves already said that the game world is devided into different districts and each district has it's unique graphics and art direction. So yeah that's all and if you decide to answer me, please be reasonable.

Being a non-American the AC3 had nothing to do with assassin's Creed the all really. Every moment I was thinking : Soon I'll get to meet the assassin's and fight templars. But noo.. AC 4 though.. The ending made me cry..

kriss3d I guess you missed like every assassination mission in the game,all of which were templars. Wanna talk about having nothing to do with Assassins Creed ? Ac4 is a prime example.

SuperMicklovin Well. How many assassins were there in AC3 ?? Uhmm.. There were achillies right ? And templars ?? Uhmm your dad and his helper whats-his-face. Which ended up in a retarded chase and thats it. Sure there is the desmond ending but that part was just sad in a bad way. What i sorely missed were the stuff that were in the DLC for AC2 where you go look for treasures in the Templar churches and dungeons and such. And the whole development of the actual assassin in you. At least in the AC prior to #3 you got trained and felt like youre building up your character. With AC3 youre just like BAM!. Theres your suite. Now go do stuff like spend hours helping the American independence war. I know in AC4 youre not even an assassin as you basicly steal the stuff from an AC guy. But you develop into a valuable AC and meet up with others on that island. Yeah it seems like the AC franchise is straying further and further from the actual AC concept with #3 and slightly less with #4 but at least the AC5 seems to at least get more back into the whole AC thing again. At least the setting have great potential.

Just look at the previous games where you can feel the war between them. There is just almost nothing about all that im the AC3. It seems to more or less solely be revolving around the American Independence war. I dont really mind the Desmond dying. What i DO mind is that throughout the entire AC franchise up to that point he was to be trained as a master assassin in order to fight Abstergo and put a stop to their plot on taking over the world. But in reality there were just about none of that either. Just a fairly fast paced chase inside abstergo to catch and kill some random guy and then killing the guy who had you captive in AC1. There were just a huge showdown missing there. Desmond was pretty much just a random guy sacrificing himself just to die.
