Templar! lol, I admit I think desmond should have been written off at the time, but not killed, that way he could return and save Assassins Creed games, Rogue was interesting but besides rogue, all the other games after 3 were all boring

That is what we all said when this game was new and at the time it made sense to say this. But now these words no longer apply because they took the story in a great direction. After finding out that Desmond's son is meant to be the next protagonist and Desmond and Clay's consciousness are both still in the animus, and the phoenix project could bring them back, the story is extremely good the way it is. With retrospect, I love the story exactly as it is. I wouldn't have the story any other way, aside from obviously it actually being finished.
And the whole series could then split into two branches, one following world that undergoes destruction and restoration, and the other one, following Desmond's sacrifice, essentially what we have currently.

Ubisoft canned the original plot. They didn't even tell Nolan North that Desmond would be killed off at the end of AC III. The bleeding effect was going to lead into Desmond becoming a living, breathing animus who could travel back in time naturally via his DNA, so that he could easily unlock the secret temples of The Ones Who Came Before in the modern day. (Hence why you'd all those temples in AC II, Brotherhood and Revelations. They were preparing you for that type of game-play for the modern day segments.) After Patrice was fired, the original story was removed.
Agree, the ending to AC III was surprising. A living breathing Animus would have been a great idea for Ubisoft to use for the ending instead of killing Desmond.
As I have talked about a million billion times, I am SOOOOOOOOO GLAD THAT STORY WAS REMOVED. Desmond physically going back in time and meeting his ancestors would be so fucking retarded I can't physically express how bad that would be. The direction they took the story in the final games up until syndicate is INFINITELY better. The story that Patrice originally had that Nolan refers to about in that video would be terrible. The final product is a way better story.
After the release of Unity, I think we can confirm that Desmond is still alive, well, somewhat. In one of the rift challenges, there is a security memo that has a conversation with Juno and someone else. She mentions that Desmond and Clay(Subject 16) are in a place called "The Grey" with her, which was also mentioned in AC4. We can only expect that Desmond is alive, but not in a physical form, and in a cyber, digital-like one, like Clay and the First Civilization. Hopefully, AC Syndicate will give us more info on it.
+zip2kx yea I saw a video on that too, syndicate didn't mention it but it did show these clones in the end which I think are Desmond so that's why they need the shroud so it can rebuild anything organic in a cellular level, they also mention a 10 year old boy who has the same ancestry as Desmond so that can possibly be his son

At this point they're just bull shitting random characters from random times. It has nothing to do with the pieces of eden and they forget that there is supposed to be a bigger plot going on in the present.
Okay I don't think Desmond is dead. If you watch the ending of ACR you will see Desmond's hand shimmer from when subject 16 pushed him out of animus island. Maybe 16 did something to Desmond's hand so that he would survive
syndicate wasnt actually very good I played it and I found it rushed, like unity. 4 was fun but got repetitive I dont care about graphics, nor do I care about the way a game is played I like a story. When I played through syndicate I didnt give one flying fuck about any of the characters.
Nah fam, Jacob and Evie were just there. I didn't enjoy their backstory, nor their story. Hell the final boss was just hitting him the same damn way, over and over again. I recommend playing the games 1-4 those were the best ones
@@Itsjosh827 the history section sucks, yes, but the modern day story of syndicate was phenomenal and is the reason the game is categorized in the good and canon Assassin's creed games.
You need to play actually play the games because Desmond's consciousness was saved to the animus in revelations. In unity it revealed that Desmond and clay are both still in the animus. In ac4 the phoenix project is revealed so they could bring him back that way. And syndicate revealing Desmond's son being the next protagonist is a phenomenal choice.
actually I think he really died but in AC4 BF you are playing as the grandson of Connor and you are playing with someone related of Edward so assassins creed 4 will be in FPS when not playing as Edward so to look like you are living this experience :) hope i helped

@DogGamingTV: I don't think your initiate is a Templar, in fact I think you were put in there by the assassins since Shaun and Rebecca talk to you at the end. In Rogue though, you initiate is forced at gunpoint to join the Templars.
I feel like ubisoft has really good stories to tell but ehy just really dont know how to tell them very well. like at all. that ending was so rushed. and how do shawn and rebecca just turn around and candidly walk out when desmond decides to kill himself, without saying a word? all that ending was sorta rushed out with all that info as if they just wanted to finish it, make zero sense why
That is why you have to use this thing called "imagination" and "headcanon" to fix those mistakes. You need to accept that reality sucks and businesses ruin video games. The devs do the best they can with the restrictions given to them and as an intelligent human being you need to fill in the gaps and use your brain to complete the experience.

GP J that's alright snowflake at least you didn't get put in a coma for 5 years wake up to find your family had been brutally butchered 5 years ago and now you want to seek revenge so you spend 3 years preparing guns, homemade explosives and chemical gases, and aliases to hunt down your families killers. 3 years of bottled rage and grief mixed with martial arts and tactical training to prepare you for the day you rip the heart out of the final boss that caused you so much pain only foe it to be stopped by an innocent kid that doesn't want you no go down that dark path. Then the kid is kidnapped by the final boss and you pool all your resources to save them only to find out that the innocent kid was raped and butchered and the boss showed you the tape just before putting a bullet in your chest. You lie there in regret and agony before the final boss walks out the room to get in his getaway car. But as he's entering his car you feel the building shake and fire alarms go off. You smile to yourself as you slip into a deep sleep. You wake up hours later handcuffed to a hospital bed. Police surround you with questions. Your sent to jail for murder, terrorism and arson. For possession of illegal fire arms and chemical weapons. You'll spend the rest of your days in a maximum security prison just before your execution and you'll request a computer to watch some youtube videos and comment on some snowflakes post about his hardships and you'll Mock him because he his heart isn't going to stop in 4 hours like yours.
+David Foggia It ruined the modern day, because Desmond died and Ubisoft fucked up the modern day, so I'm glad that Ubisoft are taking a year off so we maybe can get a good modern day again
+Mathias i think that's a big mistake to assume a "good modern day again" is what they're planning. they haven't said anything about refocusing on that part of the series, and there' has been some reports the next AC is probably focusing on Egypt

@Marco Escarra: Connor's real name was Ratonhnhaké:ton but Achilles game him a new identity so as to be able to fit in freely in the Colonies without prejudice so he gave him his dead son ( the boy and his mother died of Scarlet Fever) name. One of the recruits says to him that he should use his real name as it was a strong name.
@Paranoid0147: Desmond died yes, Abstergo found his body and extracted his blood and hair so as and uploaded the DNA from that into their servers so that employees could view the rest of his family tree at leisure.
@ Trevor Philips: Connor Davenport was Achilles dead son ( yes @Theresamcintyre), Achilles gave Haytham's son, Ratonhnhaké:ton his son's name. So they are two different people. The boy died ( its mentioned in Rogue) along with his mother of Scarlet Fever which both me and my sister have had when we were children, we fortunately had penicillin, and were able to survive -they didn't.
