mind the length but hope it helps if theres better stuff do reply comes in handy i would recomend one getting eros bow and equip its perk on the achilles bow so you get a 50% chance to not consume the special arrow you shot and +20% damage with devastating shot making the achilles bow useful with poison, fire, explosive and death arrows achilles bow is from a merc whos name i cant remember and i think is between levels 15 and 20 on first discovery people (achilles bow is the devastating shot) eros bow is in messenia (bottom left of the map next to lakonia) in the mines furter inland from the port in the center tunnel under that cliff (the left tunnel at the back of that mine) (eros has the arrows engraving) abilities to have on hand for this arrow master 1 to 3 i think obtainable without getting the spear to level 1 out of 5 devastating shot possibly beast master at max so you can have a bear aswell maybe predator shot to guide your own arrow if you do feel brave and go in melee you can find nyx the shadow and get the kronus daggers from her and she is level 20 when discovering the cult, look at message board near pantheon in athens she will be the only citizen with a sword (and shes in black clothes) and get the +40% damage from attacking behind perk and possibly get the +20% with sparta kick on it if you dont have it AND DODGE TO GET THAT FEW SECOND SLOW MOTION TO GET A COUPLE STRIKES ON HIS BACK abilities sparta kick hero strike sparta kick second wind cause it will come in handy if he hits you and it isnt a 1 shot and maybe the bull rush just in case you have to launch him might need to get rid of worshippers of the bloodline cause of the buf you get from the full armor set from that branch literally ultimate second wind where when your health at 0 it restores it to max again and has a 1 minute cooldown thats useful for both just dont have anything that removes resistances or caps your health (you might have to go through the game to find one of the memberss
as soon as i found out about poseidons trident at like level 24 or so i sailed over there just barely avoiding all the pirates then i had to sit there for twenty minutes snipping the four or five sharks that WOULDNT FOR THE LOVE OF POSEIDON LEAVE THE DAMN RUINS and i didnt have the ghost arrow of artemis or whatever yet so i was piiiiiiiiissed when i found out i couldnt even use the spear until 41 but at least you get the weapon engraving lmao
@@bitchface235 u can just get close enough till there lvl Icon pops up, swim back up to float n shoot regular arrows at them. It works, I guess this game mechanic is allowed. Lol Good on u 4 having the patience tho boss.
Podcast Banana yeah the higher rank the more xp, but the xp for more lvls you have the more you need, so if you kill a enemy was above you you either get a crap ton of xp or a new lvl, I killed a lvl 99 at lvl 81 and got like 1200 xp
I think it would really improve the game if you would get exponentially more xp for killing higher level opponents. It would give an alternative to repetitive grinding on low level enemies.
EXACTLY WHY THIS GAME SUCKS,you're an idiot if you justify the fact that he only got 1k xp especially when it takes years to lvl up in this game, he didn't level up once for killing someone 26 levels ahead of his own
Why tf are u guys mad about him using a bow? He never specified how he killed the dude. Hes lvl 24 for shit sake he would get slung across Athens. It's just as impressive that he had the patience to doit tbh.. (just realised how many likes n shit this had, why the hell cant RU-vid notify me abt this stuff)
@@GhostHazMGM fighting that mercenary would be like a civilian trying to fight you. That guy would deffinently kill him in one hit. He just wanted to make a video of him killing the dude. Its fine

@@itzjustkris7964 assassins creed game now not actually feels like assassins creed. It's feel like new rpg game. tbh old games were gold but now it's a whole new game
@@azhar.islam.akash.1997 my favorites were Black flag and rogue as they had the best naval combat imo which for me is where the game is at its best or most fun for me black flag and rogue are better than odyssey as odyssey tones it down such as the ships visual changes and stuff but odyssey black flag and rogue are probably top 3 for me Unity is worst
I preferred luring the higher level mercs to a cliff, and kicking them off until they fall down and die. Or luring them up to a rooftop, and kicking them off until they fall down and die. Or luring them up to a very tall castle wall, kick them off, they die. Essentially luring them up to a very high place, kicking them, they fall, they die. It gets tricky when you kick a lot of them to their death, and then more come to attack you in a joint effort to kill you. The secret is to survive long enough to kick one of them off of the ledge, causing them to die... then kicking the other one off of the very same ledge, causing them to die.
It depends on the difficulty... I play in hard and nothing is that easy on that difficulty. I once tried to play on easy mode and it was far more easier. He is probably playing on that difficulty.
Ive finished the main story line and when this happens you get to start a whole new game (from level 1) but this time keep your abilities, weapons ship upgrades etc so I imagine this is what he’s done.
I've had that shit happen way to many time usually it happens for me I'm getting gang banged by like 4 citizens, 3 soldiers and another Merc who showed up outta nowhere. That's how it usually happens for me tho sometimes I've been 1v1 and their usual like a lvl or so above me I miss a critical party or dodge.
I did something similar while being lvl 61 and fighting a lvl 81 mercenary (can't remember the name). I fought him as an glass canon assassin and i swear to god that was the most instense 15 min fight i had in this game. It felt like fighting a dark souls boss 😂
I love how you built up the hype by going into his description, making him out to be the most fearsome warrior in the verse before fighting hiim, really gives him more of an identity as an extremely challenging fight as opposed to just a nameless "level 50 mercenary" 🙏🙏🙏
Well to be fair, he is the Top of the Top.....until you kill him and find out there are 5 more tiers of mercs above him. I like the Merc system but I really wish when they replaced mercs on the list that were eliminated either by you or from some other enemy out in the world that the mercs under you could be any level. I don't like the fact that all the mercs under your current tier position are either at your level or a few levels under you. It would be cool if a new merc in a tier below your position would be level 80 or 90 when you level 60, like some random killing machine just decided to be a merc and your in their way (would've been cool).
"It's over mercenary i have the high ground" "You underestimate my power" "Don't try it " Get's killed by a level 24 alexios with noobie spartan armor with only arrows Mercenary:"i have failed you bear,i have failed you"
Gonna start by saying I started playing AC2 then went back to 1 and played all the way to 3, so I played during the actual AC games. That being said Odyssey is way more fun. Sure you could aerial assassinate, but then you get into a boring ass fight. I remember just waiting to counter/parry get in a hit or two, then repeat. That was pretty much all the combat in the early games and it is boring as fuck. Sure Odyssey doesn't have the story the early games do, but it is still a good story. I don't get why people keep comparing these games to the old ones. Aside from the same name, they are completely different and that's a good thing. I bought this game around Thanksgiving and have almost got 70 hours in the game. I haven't had this much fun in a game in a while and I still have so much left to do.
@@trevor42699 Don't worry. I have never played this game before but it is good. I just want to get nostalgic feeling. If only Assassin Creed is kind like Hit Man, it'll be a lot of fun.
@@hakimssszzz9289 Nah I definitely agree I loved those early games and part of me wishes we could go back to it. On the other hand I have had so much fun in this game and this style of game opens it to a lot more people. My roommate just bought it and it's his first AC game and he's loving it. If I were you I'd definitely pick it up on sale. Definitely my GOTY.
@@trevor42699 Good for you 😀 for me I think its GOW. Still, I hope next AC would be lit like this one. Try imagine in Japan. Becoming badass ninja fighting corrupted shogun. How awesome is that?!
@@hakimssszzz9289 Oh yeah I don't think it should have actually won GOTY, but it was my personal favorite from the year. Unfortunately I don't have a PS4 so I didn't get to play GOW which is pretty disappointing. I have been wanting a Feudal Japan for so long. I think the mercenary system in this would go well with Japan, becoming like the best swordfighter in Japan.
"oMg he'S a WussY!!!!! nO Skil!!" To all those who say that because he used a bow: He was playing smart. This Mercenary (By the way, Merc's are supposed to be difficult when they match your level) is over 2x his level. He could've been breathed on and there he goes, back to Kephallonia. If he went in head-on, he would've been stomped IMMEDIATELY. Just because it was with a bow doesn't mean he doesn't know how to fight or something like that. Once again, the Merc was 2x his level. I'd honestly like to see you try to beat a level 50 Merc, while you're level 24, head on. WIthout using a Sparta Kick or something that would cheese it, because that means you have no skill, according to your own logic.
This is exactly how i completed the quest when your tasked with killing the Monger, i was very low leveled and was just camping on top of a tall roof top and firing thousands of arrows till i did enough damage so that i could go down and finish him with one hit, good times man👌🏻
I did it a different way, assassin damage from what I’ve seen does more damage so I used that to my advantage. Level 59 (me) to I think 86 (cult merc). This was on a new game+ so the levels are higher. A lot of dodging, hero strikes and a critical assassination and I eventually killed him. Managed to get to him while he was separated from his bear, just long enough for the whole fight.
@@JimMastorakis1808 You can only do a single assassination anyway (the system doesn't allow anymore) but not sure if that perk also means all skills from the assassin tree like (Hero Strike).
@@klemenrus3996 The slow mercs are the easiest ones by far. Just parry and counter attack, and use your adrenaline abilities. I can't stand the mercs with daggers, they're a pain to try parry. For them i just stay at a distance and jab away with my spear.
This video inspired me, I made a hunter build and went after him, only took 7 "devastating shot" headshots to finish him off. I'm level 34 though, not 24. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love these kinds of videos, the ones from small channels with a weird event from a new game at the time that for no reason got recommended to millions of people still getting attention years later
I remember watching this video when i first started playing Odyssey and thinking it was so crazy. Then I realized that you can take down any level of enemy at any level with the right build relatively easy.
@@tommy9303 oh, DPS builds OP. I have both a Poison build (for daytime battles and all our brawls where I just wanna weaken everyone while I track captains) and a fire build (normally used at night, like 200% extra fire damage lol). They're very helpful, especially against bosses that are resistant to one or the other.
@@lyrics2challenged ty for the help just finished odyssey now playing Valhalla. There some things like better but I miss the Pirate wars with ships that were in Odyssey
@@xann1452 yeah he did what title says, but when you first read the title, i bet your first thought wasnt to come see someone cheesing the game? Therefore clickbait
This is how I killed captains and mercenaries in nightmare difficulty... Sparta kick works the magic too (not always), close quarter combat is only feasible when they are alone or low health tbh
@@zmlin Well no, the whole '300' thing is slightly inaccurate there were actually 7,000 Greeks there but yes only 300 Spartans. And they also fought hand to hand so your example is kinda null and void
I killed him at level 38, he was actually pretty slow so use a sword or daggers and you can take him on by a pretty low level, watch out for the bear tho
This is exactly how it should be done. Strategy is key! Hell, at lvl 4 I took on the 1st mercenary, lvl 5. I avoided him like the plague and tried to reach lvl5 to even the playing field but dude was relentless in tracking me, so at lvl 4 I saw my opportunity. While making his way through a mountain pass, I ambushed him from above with my bow. When he charged my position he found I had moved and lost track of me. I continued to take potshots with my bow, retreat and reset until he was low enough in health that I chanced an assassination attempt. He survived, but 3 hits with my spiked mace to his face was enough to finish him off. It was fantastic! This game is really impressing me!
If you are just one level below an enemy. You are ok to fight them. 2 levels, would be difficult enough. Skulls above their head. Best leave them alone!
@@montgomeryburns9979 untrue, ypu just need to have a decent build that isnt all over ths place ad you can quite easily kill and enemy 4-5 level above you. or if you're a power gamer forge one of those monserous builds dealing millions at level 20 like me, at one shot enemies 30-? levels above you
This is what I like about this game, you can try to kill or do any mission or person, whatever the level difference is, if you can manage it you can do it
I was lvl 36 and killed a few lvl 50s, I just summon a lietentant and them spam my poison shots and hide before lietentant dissapears. Worked every time. Beat an entire camp of guys leveled way higher than me that way
I think it’s Super cool that you killed a level 50 mercenary at level 24 but also a waste of your time because you actually have to be a level 50 to get the legendary reward still huge props
The archer build is insanely OP. With the good stuff and "rune", and skill level up, i was able to kill all lvl 50 mercenaries when i was lvl 41. I solo the arena and kill all ennemies easely, even the second stage of the arena with the 5 lvl 50+ champion. The passive who put poison on every simple arrow is great too... it put damage on time (less then fire) but ennemy make less damage to you. You just need to spam multi shot on group of ennemy (when you start the battle on the boat) or use the Devastating Shot on single target, in the head and full load... So much damage.
I’ve just started playing this game recently, I thought you could kill a merc many levels ahead of you and jump up the tiers. So I found 1 lured it to a high level area and it pissed off guards in a fort and got killed, went and claimed the death but it puts the high level merc just below me in the Tier rank lol same goes if you kill Exekias early, a new merc takes the mantle until you actually climb the ranks
Im late to this video but I killed the The Legend only on level 32 I don't know how i ran into him I was just thought he was a lower level bounty hunter but when I saw him my jaw dropped but after doing this same exact act that you did I defended him thank you for showing this video.
I hate the chickens and the civilians in this game, chickens are unreasonably aggressive and civilians stand way too close to a fight, then I accidentally hit them, causing them to panic and grab a weapon on the ground. When I was dealing with the cultist Kallius, so many civilians kept rushing to help him, I died so many times trying to kill kallius but once I did, I immediately got rid of the bounty if I had one
What I did, I kept shooting fire arrows and running away while hiding temporarily then shooting more fire arrows. The fire did a little more damage as opposed to what could've been done with sword or regular arrow attacks.
I have been playing Odyssey, so in a mission where I have to kill a mercenary (Hyrakalos) after getting desynced twice I figured these guys can't climb up on temple rooftop...rained arrows on him 😂😂...and now I'm finding this video and I'm like oh you can do that to higher levels too. Amazing content ❤️
